Jeremy is without question the best trainer on TH-cam. 1) science-based vs opinion, 2) clearly explains and walks you through the routine. 3) not quick fix routines that don't work, 4) focuses on helping you vs selling you stuff. I've changed almost 80% on my workout and nutrition plan based on what I've learned form Jeremy. Thank you!
You don’t have to eat less just eat healthier for example a chocolate is 555 calories while a bowl of salad 🥗 is also 555 calories. With salad it’s easier to burn calories and you are full.
As a guy who's having success losing fat and building muscle, here's my advice: Eat high-protein, nutritionally dense food that you find delicious, ditch the junk food and definitely don't touch a salad. I wasn't kidding when I said I'd eat 50 calories of chocolate over a salad. There's more nutrition in chocolate, especially if you purchase healthy dark chocolate that's very low in sugar. I keep on track with my goals because everything I eat is delicious and pack a punch in terms of nutrition. I don't waste my time nor torture myself with salads. PS I was kidding around about the salads; I don't like em, but if you really dig them, then dig in.....To the nearest mental institution ✌️😚
Oof i'm 4 months in with barely any results. Thank God i educated myself on a weekly exercise plan + cardio+ weight training+ calorie deficit. Now im gonna give it another 4 months and see how they compare. 💪🏽🤗❤❤
I’ve been doing sports for 25 years and I swear to god this is the first time that I have ever heard someone truly explain what the hell happens to our bodies when we exercise. THANK YOU
There's a sincerity and genuineness in Jeremy that stands out and above and beyond other similar exercise providers. His research is thorough, his explanations are accessible to the average person. He's really a rare find.
I needed this, I’ve been exercising everyday and cutting my diet drastically the last 3 weeks but haven’t seen a lot of results but this all makes sense....if you feel like giving up remember why you started in the first place. Time to keep grinding!!
Well physique transformation it's a long term game, a marathon instead of a sprint race. Realistically it takes about 8 months - 1 year. Just keep at it, keep pushing, eat clean, high protein, train hard every other day, sleep well. Take pictures every month. After 1 year you'll have a completely different body . . . Good job man
Still grinding away! Logged right at 30 miles running for the month of June and will hopefully break that in July... haven’t drank in 2.5 months. Feel great and will be focusing on my diet more next month just taking small steps but I’m down 10 lbs I’d guess thanks for asking
@Vito Scaletta What do you mean? You eat every day, calories don't run out if you eat every day, you just eat less than what you are used to, simple as that.
Your videos feel ground-breaking to me. I've never had a PT at the gym discuss my diet with me, let alone give such logical and promising tips. I've been skinny-fat my whole life (I'm 24) and feel like I finally might have all the right tools and knowledge to turn that around. You're a lifesaver!
This man's video is the clearest and most precise way I've ever watched on any TH-cam video! He's clear with his speech and what he's saying is true! Great video!✌
Thank you for this. In Month 2. Felt frustrated. Down 20lbs. Lost 10% body fat. And still have significant lower belly fat. But will keep pushing now. Looking forward to month 5.
The best bodybuilding TH-cam in the game man, no gimmicks no click baiting or sensationalizing. Nothing but straight science backed facts and useful information. Thank you man
#Facts!! As a previous certified personal trainer it's really nice to see someone giving it to everyone straight up. There's no magic. Just a little bit of knowledge and a lot of dedication!!
I'm already 2 months in and this gave me motivation to keep going! update: its now 6 months that I'm on a diet and I've lost 45 pounds of fat all over my body. I still have some left around my belly button but I'm almost there! Stay motivated, it really works!
I like how you present science based information instead of broscience. And I really like the fact that you don't flex doucheily in the camera for like 20 minutes and only give 2 minutes of information like other fitness channels on YT. Thanks for helping out people better themselves!
The 5 month journey of that dude alone is so motivating. I'm around that 2 month area and I don't notice really any difference in my belly while my arms already get way more toned and I was questioning my way. Not thinking about giving up or trying something new or anything, it just makes me question things. But after this video I know I'll just stick with it and keep going. Thanks a lot, really like the information you provide with your channel!
@Bruce Leroy Everyone does that, be Jeff from Athlean- X or Picture Fit. What sets them and Jeremy apart though is that they understand that information and explain it in a simplified manner which can be seen from both the way they present that information aswell as the results they personally achieve from that information. If you really think it's as simple as to just hop on to google and find a reliable study, it's really not. Speaking on a random study is really different from Understanding that study and simplifying it for the general public.
@@martand21 i find it better to learn functional muskoskeletal gross anatomy, learn applied lifting skills and techniques, learn biomechanics, be literate in basic physics and math, know molecular biology, nutritional biochemistry, cell metabolic physiology. It's not about this study shows 70% more emg activation for this than this. No it's more about know the anatomical action, the origin and insertion of the muscle, and performing the movement instead of using statistics to prove. The anatomy had been proven for hundred of years, we're applying too much in specific lifts. If we know how gravity works, about force relative the speed to acceleration to distance, elasticity, etc etc etc and apply to anatomical function like shoulder abduction in this range and plane etc then we would get it without proving test experiment it would just make sense and work
just want to comment that Dylan's journey and realistic transformation is the reason why I keep coming back to this video every week or so. It's really nice to see and has kept me on track since I started trying to lose weight. It's frustrating not looking big but being 'fat' at the same time. I started at 185lbs and 21% bodyfat and am now 170 and 17% Bodyfat at 5'11" entering my 2nd month of fatloss. I can hardly tell any difference while looking in the mirrors but am noticing that I have a lot more endurance when moving around and my pants are starting to fit more loosely. I just wish the process were more linear, I've gone a week where no change happens on the scale at all and then the next two days I'll drop about 2 - 3 lbs on the scale and not lose any lean mass in that ordeal. So yeah - not sure what the point of this comment was but I'm happy to see the drastic change that happened to Dylan and am hoping to see something similar in myself. going from 17% to 10% seems so surreal though... but it definitely seems like consistency is everything with these things. Just wish I could add some muscle instead of maintaining it during this lol.
4:00 I love how Dylan has a frowned expression in the first pic but with each photo you can see him slowly turning that frown upside down to the last one where it's a full on smirk!
Just over a month in with being in a calorie deficit + intermittent fasting. I always come back to this video for motivation, your videos go a long way man, one of my favourite channels on youtube 🙏.
@@kylejacobsmusic that's good I'm mainly focusing on body weight percentage cause I'm currently under weight for my height 5"9 high 62kgs probably 20-19 percent body fat
he #1 thing is planned and structured diet, because the only way for your body to burn fat is to use it as energy. Basically, you need to eat below your energy maintenance level (in terms of calories) and your fat cells will be used to compensate the missing energy (calories). That's how your body works. There are other things to consider as well, such as hormonal status, diseases... but caloric deficit is a must. You have a lot of online diet planners and calculators: Dietarize for example (I am not an affiliate 😁). Losing/gaining weight is just a simple math, really...
Fuck all the math and tracking. Just fast every day so you literally cant eat that much food in one day. 8 only eat lunch at 12ish and a pre workout snack at 5:30ish. No dinner and no breakfast. And i really really try not to snack on things in between meals. But sometimes i cheat and i am ashamed of myself.
@@ChefofWar33 if I remember right, fasting actually makes you lose weight slower as fat isn't used to support the huge calorie deficit but muscle will instead.
@@bdfdrippy1894 I'll be surprised if you don't give up quickly that's just too hard one meal a day , energy level gonna be low anyway do what's working for you but counting calories would be the best coz sometimes you don't realize how much calorically dens a food is and you can eat over your daily calorie intake just in one meal
Finally, a video that explains it clearly. At 68, I am trying to get my belly fat down and I can see some changes, but not before the other changes that you have explained in your video. Many thanks for the video and explanation.
i'm at my month two of my fitness journey and watching this video really motivated me because i was disappointed at how i didn't see a lot of change in my belly.
Daniel 115 lmao dude I noticed the same thing looking good outside will make you feel good on the inside! I’m sure he loved what he saw! He deserves it man, he must’ve worked insanely hard!
It's a bit weird though, because that guy also gained a significant amount of muscle mass in this process. This means it was definitely not just a simple cut.
The best part of your videos is that we never even think of skipping forward at any point. You keep it engaging till the end. Great work man. Love your content. 👏💪
I’ve been working out for almost a month and lost about 20lbs but i feel like my fat still looks the same! I love that he explained this perfectly and I won’t give up!!
If you got a lot of belly fat (especially the internal fat around the organs), then with a strict diet (eating food with less energy than you need, essentially hungry much of the time, and no sugar, low carb, low fat, tons of vegetables), good cardio training ~1-2 hours every 2nd day, you can expect to lose 1kg of fat per week. I like with music in my ears, on youtube you can find 160bpm running music, this is a perfect pace for your long running cardio. You can also find 170bpm or even 180bpm if you are feeling super energetic, but just you mind not to damage your knees, legs or feet! You should also do fitness exercises to build up muscle mass too though, not only because it is healthy (and looks great) but muscles burn more energy than fat does, even when you are resting, so bigger muscles are a big plus in the battle against the fat. The biggest problem for me was letting go of all the "good" emotions I felt I got from eating unhealthily. It's a struggle, no doubt about that, it will be hard and you will be tested for sure, but there are a few tricks you can use to overcome the urge to eat the bad stuff: Find something else to substitute your current unhealthy go-to-feel-good food: Subplant sugary soda with zero sugar soda (personally I find pepsi max to have a wonderful taste). Once you start consuming less energy than your body needs you'll grow hungry, which sounds hard right? It is hard, but the positive side effect is that zero sugar soda for example will taste much better, in fact much food will taste much better when you are more hungry. This is a great experience, you really have to try it out first to realize just how awesome it is to experience food when your body actually needs energy. Find vegetables you like; this can take some time, research and testing. For me green beans is a major go-to. Buy them frozen for cheaps in the supermarket then cook them a minute or two in the microwave with a a bit of salt on (and if you do a lot of cardio you're going to sweat like a pig which means you'll lose salt, so this is an okay way to restore the salt balance). It's fantastic as a snack, especially when you are feeling restless and needs saving when you feel like maybe you would be doing something unhealthy. Green beans contains very little energy, only about 37 calories per 100g, which is incredible considering how tasteful they are. Add soya beans (also called edemame or mukimame beans) to get a dose of protein as well. Should also be able to get them for cheaps frozen in the supermarket. Feel free to eat almost as many green beans a day as you want, the energy contained within is so little that you would have to eat WAY more green beans than you would actually want to eat before getting too much energy (just be prepared to fart a lot... "that's a sign of my new health" you will tell your GF/BF proudly!). As a comparison a regular slice of pizza with cheese and ham can easily contain 5-15 times as much energy as green beans, depending on the type of cheese, meat and the amount. Another great trick is to eat the icelandic dairy product called "skyr" (you'll need to pronounce this like a viking would with a heavy rolling r), which is a sort of yoghurt with very low energy, only ~67 calories per 100g, and lots of protein and very little sugar and no fat. Blend in an artificial sweetener, perhaps a little vanilla (not vanilla-sugar) and perhaps a bit of high-fiber crunch on the top; tastes like a freakin delicious dessert, no less, but totally healthy. Drink coffee or tea with (or without) sweetener and with(or without) skimmed milk. For coffee I like the frost dried type of instant coffee that I can just instantly mix with boiled water, sweetener and skimmed milk and then you'll have a very nice sort of creamy sweet coffee to satisfy your craving, but containing almost no energy other than the tiny amount contained within the bit of skimmed milk. Eat berries. When you avoid sugar and fat and eat low carb you have a lot of headroom to eat delicious berries: you still do need SOME sugar after all, and these berries are bloated with vitamines and antioxidants which is also very healthy for your body outside of the whole lose-fat debate. For breakfast I like to take ½ pommegrenade, 8-10 blueberries, 3-4 cherry tomatoes, which all amounts to about a cup full of berries. It tastes wonderful, and still does not contain much energy. A slice of high-fiber lightweight crispbread with a thin slice of low-fat (6-13%) cheese now and then is also a great little snack trick. Just don't go amok and eat a ton of these all the time, I usually take 1-4p per day depending on how I feel about it, but not more because crispbread and cheese still contains a high amount of energy per 100g, but each only weighs like 10g so if you just eat a few per day it wont stack up too much.
@@MrArtVein I hope it helps someone, all I wrote are totally what changed my life around. About crispbread I accidentally wrote "Just go amok and eat a ton of these all the time", so just to be clear it should have been be "Just _don't_ go amok and eat a ton of these all the time"
I'm so glad I found this video now. I started a week ago, work out + diet with the wrong idea that I can lose this belly in just a month or two. its kinda discouraging that it would take longer but thats better than being discouraged later when I will thought my efforts didnt make a difference. 💪🏽 I'll be back when I see a significant change
Very encouraging. In December, I started doing cardio and and have been on huge caloric deficit in hopes of losing my gut and chest. I’ve lost 23 pounds (196 to 173) but have not seen any real belly fat reduction. I was prepared to give up on my current method but this video is telling me to keep going and that it will come.
Can I say Jeremy is 100% correct? Im so glad I researched this video when I first started working out. I would’ve been so discouraged not knowing it takes time. My main issue was belly fat. After changing my diet to paleo and reducing stress, and intermittent fasting my stomach went down 3 inches. And it happened in month 3, specifically at 13 weeks. So, don’t give up! I saw the changes in my whole body but my belly fat was the last to go. You got this!
Video Summed up for those who want the quick answers: 1. Caloric Deficit + Weightlifting for best results (ride it out and dont give in. Results WONT happen over night) 2. Mobilization of belly fat + 30 mins of low intensity cardio after mobilization (Fat mobilization is decreased when there is poor blood flow to said region) So you want to exercise the muscles in specific region to increase blood flow. Then follow up with low intensity cardio to then begin to burn off fat from mobilized area. Your body prioritizes losing fat on your arms, face and chest first because these areas are easier for your body to burn off and use as energy. 3. To speed up process (Regularly perform ab exercises) Incorporate Various ab exercises to your weekly rutine & gradually overload them to make them grow & easier to see.
I’m so glad I found you, I’m a female who is struggling with belly fat. I was keep getting discouraged and angry because I workout so much but not losing weight, after I watched this video and other video about watching calories, now I do understand what’s needed to be changed. Most importantly I need to be patient. Thank you,

@@ChadX Maybe "nonsense" was not the right word. It does make sense, but it is just so damn basic.... "stick to your diet and make commitment". i could easily go down to 8% body fat if i wanted to.but like i've said,my face will look like a drug/meth addict first before loosing those belly fat for the abs to show
I have the same problem. My face is already very skinny and bony, even though I still have some belly fat. I'm currently at 13-14% body fat and most of it is around the lower belly.
Do burpees and other hiit workouts..Stop doing situps and crunches and increase the number of Push up from 100 to 150 and start sprinting instead of jogging ..this really works ..even it worked for me
I like how Dillon gets happier from month three, and looks like success kid at month five... awesome video, btw. Nobody ever seems to tell people to expect belly fat to go last (or show the science backing it up), and it's a very important reminder.
Although I was leaning to the "can't spot reduce" theory, I did think that working abs did play a part in belly fat reduction. This video reinforces what I already knew but went the extra step and explained it scientifically. Great informative video.

Thank you. My sister and are are 2 yrs and 2 days apart in age. She found her husband was shopping for a new partner. She stressed out and walked and ate less because of stress. Walking the neighborhood and biking. And She is happy to divorce. She said She needs self love. So we exercise Our arms 3 times a week. Walk. And do a silly dance in the livingroom for 2 hours to Music. Glad I showed her your Video. We are now eating/exercising And no stress . Plus she said a cute guy with arms is something to Look at. Is a plus too. Two sister on a better path to Health. Thanks.
Another tip from one of his previous videos: Intermittent fasting. It helps a lot keeping the caloric deficit, and it also causes good hormonal responses to your body. It really helps a lot!
10 weeks in. lost 19.6 lbs. not taking more than 50g of carbs/ day. 1300 calories currently. 4 packs visible. lower belly fat remaining. stay strong boys and girls. each rep is for Jerusalem
Losing any excess fat on the face will make your face look more handsome, so don't consider it such a bad thing. You will get a more well defined jawline and cheek bones. You just have to be patient, for males we usually lose fat from around our body, including our face, before losing that belly fat.
You've just given me the kick up the bum that I needed today 😀 I was doing great everything else on my body was changing but my stubborn lower belly and was stating to get frustrated. So glad I've come across this video as I will keep on going with my training and healthier eating 😀

Thank you!
Step 1: Eat less
Step 2: Don't quit

Being a scientist myself, I appreciate how you use the reference of scientific papers in order to explain the workouts and regimes. Great work
he #1 thing is planned and structured diet, because the only way for your body to burn fat is to use it as energy.
👍
Fuck all the math and tracking. Just fast every day so you literally cant eat that much food in one day. 8 only eat lunch at 12ish and a pre workout snack at 5:30ish. No dinner and no breakfast. And i really really try not to snack on things in between meals. But sometimes i cheat and i am ashamed of myself.
@@ChefofWar33 if I remember right, fasting actually makes you lose weight slower as fat isn't used to support the huge calorie deficit but muscle will instead.

I’ve been working out for almost a month and lost about 20lbs but i feel like my fat still looks the same! I love that he explained this perfectly and I won’t give up!!
How's the progress?
update
Yo its been 8 months tell us about the progress.
It's a struggle, no doubt about that, it will be hard and you will be tested for sure, but there are a few tricks you can use to overcome the urge to eat the bad stuff:
Find something else to substitute your current unhealthy go-to-feel-good food:
Subplant sugary soda with zero sugar soda (personally I find pepsi max to have a wonderful taste).
Crazy Gaming lot of good stuff here. Never heard of crispbread
@@MrArtVein I hope it helps someone, all I wrote are totally what changed my life around. About crispbread I accidentally wrote "Just go amok and eat a ton of these all the time", so just to be clear it should have been be "Just _don't_ go amok and eat a ton of these all the time"

Video Summed up for those who want the quick answers:
1. Caloric Deficit + Weightlifting for best results (ride it out and dont give in. Results WONT happen over night)
