She was Timeless, not "ahead" of her time because this was the way of the times back then. These were the Beats and videos they were dropping. It Belonged back then. Today's Generation is "behind" and copy the past, because the Music is "TIMELESS."
Natural Kinky Curly―Marie what are you talking about? Aaliyah’s music in GENERAL is very ahead of it’s time. I play her music In my car all the time and my little cousin and his friends always ask “who is this, she sounds dope, is she a new artist?” And I have to explain to them that she died nearly 20 years ago and they faces be shook. This is the same reason why we need a resolution didn’t do well, it didn’t do well because at that time nobody was making music like that so people didn’t catch on to that single until later. Her music is timeless yes but it’s also way ahead of her time in 2001.
@@LickMyFashion Nothing ahead of its time with Timberland's sound, that was a genius new Sound of the times. One that transcends time _(Timeless),_ and is missing in the industry today.
Aaliyah kinda got that back then, but not really. She was always relatable to black people but also had an alternative side. Sometimes people didn’t understand it but thought it was cool. Kinda like MJ and Prince. They were black artist but very eccentric as well. She was kinda like that, but not as weird. 😌
Indeed. Plus, it would have been nice if they would have had a sequel to "Romeo must Die" if she didn't pass away as the chemistry between her and Jet Li was amazing. There's a legend that the original version of "Romeo must Die" included the scene where Aaliyah and Jet li had kissed but because for some reason they thought it would be awkward if her character wound up kissing his character after he watched his father do himself in because of the murder of his brother that it would not be so well. If I become the boss of Warner Brothers Discovery, I will release that version or make them release that version.

00s is not much different than today if you look back. Those times were just as modern as today, unlike the 70s. The 90s and 00s was the blueprint for today, actually.

Always wondered if she would be called the Queen of r&b had she lived longer, rather than the Princess. But I guess the title of princess suits her well 😉
@@glorynjoku7651 we’ll never know. I like princess tho!
That's a very long name for a baby
@@MichaelSmith-zx5lw Aaliyah wasn't a baby babes the way y'all treat Aaliyah is weird vs how y'all treat Selena like Aaliyah was grown when she passed she wasn't 6 💀
I am grateful to be old enough to remember this in circulation all over the radio, on every station and on replay on MTV. #iconic
Back when MTV rocked
Timbs beat here is so good. People need to give him props.
If Aaliyah was still alive, she would be releasing pretty good songs. We missed you baby girl.
If she's still live, she would be on the top of the music industry
She'd win a Oscar
Beyonce never be Beyonce
@@Oasi692 Yeah, be famous than Beyonce
I think so too! ❤️
This deserved the GRAMMY it was robbed! A whole #1 on airplay ONLY, that’s saying something. Aaliyah was ahead of her time - sound and visually. Will miss her forever 🕊
@@jadex3441 nah they could of gave it to her when she alive!!
Trueeeee that !!!!¡ Way ahead !!!!¡ I've always thought that .
Her dancing is effortless and flawless
That’s because she never gave up trying.
I feel like a lot of people now days would say she acts white or not black enough
Aaliyah kinda got that back then, but not really. She was always relatable to black people but also had an alternative side. Sometimes people didn’t understand it but thought it was cool. Kinda like MJ and Prince. They were black artist but very eccentric as well. She was kinda like that, but not as weird. 😌
Happy 46th heavenly birthday, Baby Girl! 🎈🥳🎉🎂🎊🎁
WOW, after all these years.....literally all these years later this song still goes in. TIMBO & AALIYAH !! rest in paradise bbygirl
Tell me about it 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌.
Aaliyah ✊✊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
Aaliyah would’ve elevated the consciousness of humanity with her music and they couldn’t have that happen
YES ! she and Jet li both could have done that .
i agree
She was chosen
@@mr.westwood1876 her name said it all. May she rest in peace ❤️.
I love this comment she was so much more than her music.
If Aaliyah didn’t died of plane crash she would’ve been making lots of albums and appeared many movies she is one of the million queen of rap music
RnB And Hip Hop Music
She's The Princess Of RnB
If aaliyah didn't die in the plane crash, it would have been cool to see a romeo must die sequel
or even beat Beyonce's record-breaking awards too
@@vellbariaofficial nah, Beyoncé is a powerhouse for a reason. Aaliyah definitely was on the up and up though

There will never be another her from her moves to her style she is 1 of my favorite artist her memory will never die love you Aaliyah
The dancers were lucky to be dancing next to her. Everything about the outfits, the beat, and choreo is badass! 🖤
…I wonder how these dancers are and what they’re doing today? ♥️
They are all dead with her in the crash
I thought she died alone , just her

-Christopher Maldonado : A make-up stylist.

The newer generations will never understand. This was FIRE back in the day! Nothing like this existed. This was a breakthrough in hip hop music.
Concerteza oque sentíamos ao ouvir uma música assim era surreal tocava a alma ❤
Facts.
This was 2001 ! The young generation no fault to them don’t remember that 7 months after Aaliyah passed Left Eye passed then September 11 happened. That was a super surreal ass year for anyone born before the 90s. I’m not that old but I was born in the early 80s

Aaliyah the first R & B Princess before Beyonce and Rihanna.
Nah man, can't give her that credit. There was Brandy and Monica a good five years topping the charts before Aaliyah as R&B solo Princesses.

00s is not much different than today if you look back. Those times were just as modern as today, unlike the 70s. The 90s and 00s was the blueprint for today, actually.
A cultural reset, a timeless classic, a true masterpiece from Queen Aaliyah Dana Haughton
Some of Timbaland very best work especially that beginning intro damn
Man we were robbed of an immense talent. I would have loved to see how she would have developed and what she would be doing today. Sending comfort and love to her mom and brother because even 20+ years on, this must still be a painful reality to deal with. RIP Queen Aaliyah.
