This is by far the BEST video thoroughly explaining "Spondylolisthesis" for anyone to understand. I am a visual learner & I greatly appreciate you Dr. Shim for this video!
Very good video. It can't be explained any better. I just recently discovered after 14 years of having back pain, that this is something that I have a minor case of. It has changed my life already. As of right now I am, not to go back to work for 6 weeks due to heavy lifting. Financially this is going to be an issue.
Haha, I have this and I’m sure it was from my failed back surgery in 2021. Now the neurosurgeons still recommend surgery which I’m not surprised at all! But no no, I had ACDF and FBS, I know my body better than anyone else. I had so many steroids injections last year that sustained my minor physical activities. Another surgery could very much take me to the end. There’re successful stories but also disappointed stories. Take care of yourself ❤
A chiropractor, GP or specialist will recommend some core strengthening and stabilising exercises. Examples include; cat dogs, dead bugs or a cable pallof press.
I appreciate your videos- very easy to understand and informative. I was in a car accident last September, i'm experiencing numbness/pain on the left side of my body (seeing a doctor about this). I have a healed L5 compression fracture. (reading through my ER records, it says "facet joint injury", "disc space narrowing", and "mild degree of (vertebrae) displacement noted"). Would this indicate spondylolisthesis?
Usually, the testing report would say spondylolithesis. In certain instances, the spondylolithesis may not show unless you are bending forward or backwards. X-rays while doing those motions may pick up a slippage not obvious on regular x-rays. Good luck to you.
@@ShimSpineVideos Thanks for responding back, your comments make sense. I'll get the results of the neck/lower back MRI next week. I'm 27 and very fit/healthy. I've progressively been losing strength in my left leg, which is concerning. Your videos are a great resource- thanks again.
I have a Pars Fracture I got from Jiu Jitsu about 5 years ago. Recently found I have a 2mm bulge at L5-S1 as well. I tried to keep my core strong throughout the years. What kind of symptoms could I expect? Im 38
I also have this condition and have had 2 corrective surgeries that haven't proved to be much help. I get what your feeling and hope you can find a way for it to be fixed.
I just found out I have this… even though I’ve known for a while and no one took my pain seriously enough for an X-ray. I have had some relief in pain with acupuncture. Just in case 😊
hello , this is my test result : there are only 4 non-rib bearing pre-sacral vertebral segments(transitional vertebra)L5 looks to be sacralized.there is also evidence of spondylolysis of L4,but no obvious listhesis.lordosis of lumbar spine also is exaggerated disk spaces and vertebral heights appear normal pedicles are symmetrical and normal SI joints are unremarkable impression: 1:transitional vertebra at lumbosacral junction as described 2:spondylolyisis of L4 with no obvious listhesis 3:Exaggerated lumbar lordosis So,do i need surgery or by chiropractic and may be phototherapy i can make it better? THanks.
I can only give general advice, not specific recommendations. the report by itself is not that concerning. Many of those findings are typical, though the words sound scary. th-cam.com/video/eltmQb--QqE/w-d-xo.html . Please discuss your findings with your doctor. Only get surgery when it is absolutely necessary.
In general, you discover you have this because you are having back pain with associated numbness, pain and weakness to your legs. Treatments depend on how long you have these complaints. Please see a doctor if you are concerned.
Im afraid this is what i have. I thought it was sciatica but now idk but whatever do some heavy lifting at work and im wondering if I hurt myself one time too many.
That would be very difficult to know. If you had severe pain after the jump, maybe, but only an x-ray before and after that jump will give you the best answer.

Hi. I have spondylolisthesis grade 1 L5 S1 with a fracture. Will it be a good thing to get Rhizotomy to help for the pain that is coming and going ?

Hello Sir, really nice informative video, Can you tell me what are the symptoms and what are the treatment options for this ?

I have grade 3 spondylolisthesis, and it's so painful now. Is it possible that i got this when i fell down the stairs when i was 5 yrs. old? Tnx ☺️
Probably not, unless you had a real bad injury at that time.
Hellp sir i m 34 and i am facing this prob since 2 months ....on L5 S1 ....dr advised me for surgury and i m unmarried ...plz suggest me what to do
So sorry! Medical issues are tough when you are single. I hope you are doing better now

Hi Dr, thanks for the video, I have grade 3, could I have done that when younger jumping off a 50ft cliff into 5ft of water near the ocean ?
That would be very difficult to know. If you had severe pain after the jump, maybe, but only an x-ray before and after that jump will give you the best answer.
@@ShimSpineVideos I did my ankle when i landed, I was 18, back pain came when I was 30
I don’t understand putting music over these important words. It’s the dumbing down of America. 👎
In 2012, I had fusion surgery for grade 3 lumbar 4 spondylolisthesis. I've been in a lot of pain again. Is it possible I need another surgery?
