Its not really 4 seconds. It is still 2 seconds cool down between each 'live' slide, but the difference in superglide is that you start counting 2 seconds (start from 0) after you LANDED, because you will perform a short slide after you land a superglide, regardless of you holding the crouch key or not. So start counting after you landed is the key.
with sprinting animation after the characters hands shown on screen is also good timer. Left right left after the left hand appears in the field of view a second time it’s safe to slide again. This is without heirloom though. One day I’ll get one.

I just wish the slow down would be removed, it used to be unique to only heavy ammo back in like S2 but now every ammo type does it and it's not even hard at all to do with fully autos. I can understand snipers and maybe marksmen rifles having it since it's a harder hitting round, but like a P2020 having enough power to slow you down 😂
In order to perform a good slide you need enough momentum build up, else you’ll dead slide to infinity. I love this two second rule. I personally use instinct and muscle memory but I’ll keep this tip in mind as a strong back up, especially for the superglide and 4sec wait time. Nice 👍🏾 one
Thanks for the kind words, dude! This "2 second rule" is something I use to prevent dead slides and it illustrates how to not dead slide pretty well. I'm sure there are some other ways to stop dead sliding but I'm glad the methods I use have helped you :)
idk if this applies to you but when you finish sliding and have to build the momentum, it kinda feels like a meter building before you do it it yk? it’s hard to explain but it’s a personal feeling😂
This is a good way to recalibrate if you ever lose your internal timing. Basically all of us who've played Apex for like over a week or something already somewhat subconsicously knows the general timing for slidejumping continuously, but for people like me who don't really have the time/energy to play Apex everyday, I sometimes lose my consistency. This video really helped me figure out the fastest way to recover and recalibrate because there's now a reliable method to do it actively and not just a trial-and-error method.
If you slide for a far enough distance before jumping towards the wall, u can slide after a wall jump, also if you do a normal wall jump without slidejumping, you can slide on the landing everytime. Also, crouching resets the slide counter. So if you superglide behind cover, you can crouch, umcrouch and then superglide again or slidejump.
Omg i can't believe i didn't realize this earlier about super gliding taking longer to build back up momentum and i also probably had a lot of times where I'm just not waiting long enough because I'm still in the air. Great video
There is an interesting thing I have noticed: if you will turn on crosshair on your monitor, then in-game crosshair will be aligned with your monitor's crosshair in the moment when slide is available. Once slide is done, you will notice that in-game crosshair is "moving" till you will get the momentum for the next slide
One more recent discovery was that if you suddenly lose 10+ frames before the slide, u can lose your velocity So if you are on PC optimizing your game to the max will prevent alot of dead slides that were not your fault.
can you share the source, I want to know more about it. Wait-wait.... Edit: Mokeysniper's Skip-jumping video also mention, that losing frames can lead to cancelling the slide animation and still got the same acceleration as normal slide jumping. What the heck?!
this guide is amzing, one thing though, you can start counting right as the slide happens. its not usefuul in most situations since youre on flat ground and that much time really doenst make a difference, but going down hill, or jumping from higher elivations, where you get more air time, you will notice that you can slide less than 2 seconds after landing, unless you get fall stun. it can take some getting used to but im starting to really get in tune with sliding and ive noticed i have MUCH less dead slides. most of mine come from trying to slide as i get shot, as that slows you down enough for you to only be able to dead slide.
The real issue is the dead slides that comes from the slow the characters experience when being shot, where you are trying to get to cover with a slide and basically stop moving
As far as i know Deadsliding means hitting a slide jump after 2 seconds and still not getting a slide boost. Its a server problem not a timing thing. Sure u can fuck up a slide jump urself but even if u dont in real lobbies (not shooting range) u still can get a dead slide cause of server issues.
Having a bad timing is not an issue when talking about death sliding, it's usually an issue when you are trying to slide while being shot. When bullets hit you you lose some speed and when trying to slide right after - you just crouch, which makes you an easy target.
This is an odd question but I’ve seen other players move diagonally like you do before sliding (like at 1:02) are you just holding W and D? Is there any particular reason for running like this before a slide?
@@Gruic03 There is a specific time after you slide you cant slide again its about 1.6 seconds and after a superglide double about 3.5 sec. Maybe doing the little wiggle is your way of timing it.
It's also a way to look to the side but do mind that holding or releasing a side key while moving forwards decreases speed by (I think 25) for a tiny bit so when moving to the side I would just extend 2 seconds to 2.5 - 3 seconds to slide
The absolute accurate way to count the cooldown is: Count 2 seconds between SLIDES, start counting as soon as you started a slide. the jumping or landing does not matter, There is a hard coded 2 seconds cool down for 'live' slides. This method may not be as simple but if you want to minimize down time this is the way to go.
