In fact, I remember reading an interview where Soule stated that he always included in some way or another an arrangement of 5 specific notes. THAT was his signature.
I remember traveling through the Shiverpeaks with an old friend one day, questing and enjoying the sights. I don't play the game anymore but I'll always love Guild Wars 2. I lost myself in its magic back then. Sometimes I could almost feel that snowy winter air brushing my face.
For the best experience, when you're ready to level another toon, do it in the shiverpeaks instead of just visiting with your warrior! The quests, the atmosphere, the events, the music, it's pretty magical.
I reached level 80 yesterday, Human warrior, but i never really traveled to the shiverpeaks at all. Need to spend some more time up there, the place is so beautiful
His style is his signature. It's hard for John Williams to not sound like John Williams. Though the project may be different, Soule's arrangements and composition in general will still carry his mark some way or another.
The instruments sound very similar because his soundtracks are produced mostly in software with samples. His arrangements can sound similar as well, it just happens sometimes with artists. This track does sound very similar to something you would hear in Skyrim, but it is not identical to anything on the Skyrim soundtrack.
guild wars 2 music is soooo good. i dont even play the game anymore. never really got into the endgame that much. my favorite memories from the game were just doing the zones and trying to complete it all, with the music enabled. Jeremy soule is a legend.
When I started playing GW2 like 3 years ago, this took memories from The Elder Scrolls times... In this better, wonderful place. 3 years later, I still take conscious effort to keep appreciating that feeling.
The base game of gw2 is such a feat of the MMO genre. Back when I played in 2012, GW2 actually felt like the next "evolution" of MMOs. Well, to be honest it still feels like that, just sorely underappreciated. I don't think I'll ever forget those moments in fall 2012 finally getting to play this game.
I still remember my first character, a charr warrior, who just entered Wayfarer Foothills and started exploring it for the first time. Even though I didn't fully explore the other charr regions first my first 100% explored area back when 100% full map completion needed WvW. I still come back to this area and it was the first track that played, so many memories
I have this track as my morning alarm. Even though I hate getting up for work, at least I can listen to this beautiful track in the morning. That and it's not an annoying "BLUR BLUR BLUR BLUR BLUR BLUR BLUR!"
"His arrangements can sound similar as well, it just happens sometimes with artists" even most of Hans Zimmer's sound... same-y (especially to the untrained ear) especially if the film/game/scene has a similar feel to it
This track and Distant Horizons are definitely very similar to start with, but, not the same track. Wouldn't mind if it was, though, because I love this track

One of the bests tracks ever.

When I traveled to the Shiverpeaks I heard this alot. Beutiful music, beutiful lands.
You can really tell he put his Soule in to this.
Selkiara I see what you did there.
probably because both Soule brothers worked on this
I was kinda surprised how attaching that Norn feeling can be... *Shivers*
Cold land, fine land

The Shiverpeaks had the best music in GW1, still the same in GW2, I love leveling in the shiverpeaks solely for the music.

I love the fact that he also used the old GW1 music, I adored the shiverpeak tracks, can't wait till my GW2 OST arrives :)
Yes I was looking for this track 😭
I love leveling in the Shiverpeaks. Mountains and snow in general are really cool.

Skyrim OST - The Streets of Whiterun
Guess who composed the Skyrim music? ur right : Jeremy soule ^^
I am sure the poster is aware. They are pointing out that this is essentially the same song
Steakbacon Not really

i would fall asleep to this honestly i wont wake up lmao
Nostalgia :)
Thought I was listening to Skyrim for a sec
+Vasant Kurvari It is very reminiscent of Skyrim's music.
+Vasant Kurvari Jeremy Soule is behind the elder scrolls music hehe, so... :)
The composer is also the same for both games if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, It sounds very similar to Skyrim.... extremely similar. I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and just say its his composing style.
This track and Distant Horizons are definitely very similar to start with, but, not the same track. Wouldn't mind if it was, though, because I love this track
Makes me think of _Band of Brothers_.
I got Spore vibes...
This soundtrack plays in Skyrim as well, Can't really grasp the name of the soundtrack it goes under in Skyrim but you can definitely hear it.
Yes! Yes it is! It's Distant Horizons from Skyrim, listen to both. And pay attention to the first minute it's, exactly the same!
whats the name of the song so I could look it up on spotify?
is it me or have i heard this in skyrim before. i know that its the same artist. but did he just take a track from skyrim and put it on GW?
its very similar to distant horizons from the skyrim ost
I hate this area of the game but I can't hate the music
That downvote probably was a misclick.
