Literally the only part I needed to see, and you had your hands in the way. My screws will not fit in around the width of the knob. needed to see if there was a trick to it or some thing because I cannot figure out how this stupid thing is supposed to go in.

Check the box. You’re using the deadbolt screws. Use the shorter machine bolts
