from my research i did from what i can remember the transfer case requires atf bc the 75w90 is too thick as the atf is thinner. but not all atf is the same and since there are different atf by febi this one had the requirements
Ok 👌 thanks boss, gonna change my Q7 this week I'll do the diffs and transfer case mine is a UK 🇬🇧 3.0 TDI 245BHP but looking at research the diffs and box are the same, hey keep making the Audi Q7 videos found this very helpful 😀 👍
@@markb6s4 yes I've got Mannol 75w90 for the diffs also Mannol ATF 60 for the transfer case would this be OK? I've also got some TF 0870 oil but which would be better?
@@leehopkins6983 I have recently changed front/rear diffs with 75-w90 GL-5 but I noticed later that it should have been 75w90 GL-4. I have not noticed any differences so far. As for the transfer case, can I use whatever I use for the transmission? I’m planing to use ZF8 for transmission
This will all depend on how you drive? The range is tipickly 50k to 90k. The harder you drive the car close to the 50k mileage and if you drive nice and steady the 90k mileage. I changed mine around the 37k miles. That is way below the 50k, but I don't know how the owner before me drove the car. So i went ahead a changed it way before it's time. And it's a good feeling knowing I have fresh oil in them now
Thank you for sharing appreciated information.
Your welcome, happy to help others
thanks for your videos mark!
Sure thing!
Torque for drain & fill plugs is 17Nm or 12 ft-lb. The threads are tapered so dont overtighten.
thank you for correcting me
How come you've used the FEBI ATF oil and not the 75w90 ?? I'm changing .one this week and wondered what difference ot would make 🤔

Lee Hopkins sounds good! As for the front and rear diff that does use the 75w90 oil

What quantity you used . Is 1 litre enough?
Yes 1 Lt is enough. But i got 2 just to be on the safe side
Does it use same oil as axle oil?
No it does not. Axle and transfer case oil are completely different
What is the mileage to change all three
