- Taon-taon ay ipinagdiriwang ng mga probinsiya sa lalawigan ng Cordilleras, Mountain Province ang tradisyong kinalakihan nila sa Lang-ay Festival. Sa piyestang ito, may samu't-saring mga tradisyunal na palaro't sayawan ang ginagawa ng mga tribo. Panoorin ang kabuuan ng kapistahan sa video na ito!

gustong-gusto ko ang lugar na yan.. mababait ang mga tao at mababang-loob. may mga estudyante ako sa kolehiyo na agad kong nakikilala na taga mountain province sila...may distinct features kasi ang kanilang mukha at katawan... magagandang mga bata pero mahiyain.. ang lugar na yan ang gusto kong tigilan...dyan ko gusto tumira..mapayapa at maganda ang klima :)

The Igorot respect so much of their culture, tradition, beliefs and mother nature. They value their place. I hope let's all preserve the richness of of our tradition and culture so we have the identity to call our own as a Filipino. Igorot protect and preserve so much human nature of life and mother nature. Sana Lang those who visit the area will always put in mind to do the same. Let's respect the sorroundings and do not throw your garbage anywhere.

I went to one of the local elementary school in Benguet, and man.. young children say from 10 to 12 were teaching 5-7 years old younger children thier tradition dance. It was so amazing to see them... then they started to form a long line and invited us to join with them.. such a cool experience :)

Mas Educated pa nga ang karamihan ng igorot kasi sila ang unang tinirhan at iniducate ng mag amerikano, kasi napakaganda ng klima nila parang sa US din kaya, dyan nag stay mostly ang mag amerikano noong 1900s.
Oo tapos dinala din sila sa america at nilagay sila sa HUMAN ZOO.
@@matthewramos397 lol di lang sa igorot nila ginawa yan.. kahit sa mga indigenous people of Mindanao etc. Mas matunog lang mga igorot kc sa tapang. However, totoo na mas marunong mag English ang mga older igorot kisa magtagalog at totoo na super advance class ang turo ng mga Americans sa kanila.. ang lalaki ng mga original na buildings sa baguio parang Western yan dati at yong mga pangalan ng park like Burnham Park. Sabi ng father ko nong elementary pa lang sila tinuturuan na sila ng calculus.

Noong dumating ang mga amerikano dito sa mga kabundukan ng cordillera, public education agad ang inatupag.. sundalong kano yung mga unang teachers dito.english ang itinuro, paano bumasa at sumulat at basic math gaya ng pagbilang, pag turo ng paggamit ng orasan at pag gamit ng kalendaryo.. HINDI RELIHYON ang pangunahing itinuro. Chaka lang nagpunta yung mga mistonaryong kano na mga pastor later.

Beligians (taga Belgium) na CICM nung 1920's..magaling sa health at sanitation ang mga madre at mga laymen na kasama nila.. HINDI RIN RELIHYON lang ang itinuro nila..

Ginaya din ng mga misyunaryong amerikano noong dumating sila. .
Yung mga espanyol kasi pagdating dito ay pinagmalupitan ang mga tao at sapilitan silang pinaftrabaho ng walang sahod at pinagbantaan kung ayae maging katoliko..
Maraming katoliko dito pero hindi dahil sa mga espanyol kundi dahil sa CICM congregation na mga Belgians..

We must be proud of Igorots, the original people of our country were pretty much strong and victorious in overcoming the Spaniards at mananakop. Unlike the original people here in Canada (Aboriginal,Metis,etc.) na hindi naibalik sa kanila ang own country nila mula sa mananakop na mga Europeans. Originally dapat walang maputi sa Canada. They never had their independendence. Mabuhay Pilipinas!
nahiya naman ang mga lumad, mangyan at negrito sa sinasabi mong the original people of our country. FYI sa mga binanggit kong tribes, hindi din sila nasakop ng mga espanyol or na impluwensya. Hindi lang ang mga Igorot sa Cordillera noh. dapat sinabi mo sa iyong statement ay "one of the original..."

Magagalit ang ibang tribo nyan pag sinabing ang original. Eh ang daming tribo sa pinas. Palagay ko langpo kaya nawala ang ibang kultura ng ibang tribe dahil madali silang nasakop sa ibang dayuhan dahil nasa patag lang, di tulad ng nasa malawak na kabundokan.

Igorots are much similar to the Nagas in various aspects. Nagas are also know as the Head Hunter.
The Nagas are particularly found in the hills of Nagaland, India.
The Philippines head hunter tribe of the mountain province. Yes ive watched the nagas of northeast india on youtube and i believe or maybe they are related to each other because of their similarities in their culture.
Igorots are austronesian, who are much like the taiwanese aborigines. The hanging coffins of sagada are similar to that of the bo from ancient south china. The rice terraces of ifugao is also like those in south china. That's because the ancestors of austronesians came from south china. Headhunting culture is present in every culture back in the days, just depends on the timing.
True, some examples are head hunting, tattoos on the body, chewing betel nuts, songs and dances, and other material culture. I am from Ifugao here in the cordillera.
