    Oof. Just another insanely solid video. I find myself watching all of the Class Guide videos you produce even when I’m not playing that character. It just adds so much more depth and enjoyment to the game.
    Thanks for all your work ❤

    I bought my copy of Frosthaven this week. Will probably play with my gaming group in a few months, after we finish our 3rd campaign in base Gloomhaven. I'm kind of an Inox guy. I like the Brute more than most people. Lightning Bolt was fun. I enjoyed Hatchet too. Almost guaranteed that I will probably play with the Drifter at some point. Thanks for the guide, which I'm sure I will reference later.

    Draining arrows is a melee card, it allows you to muddle three enemies for defense when in mele. I just started playing the drifter and it is a card that I see myself holding onto for a while yet.

    ok only 11 mins in, and I am completely surprised. Positive comments about a loot card I wasn't expecting that from MQ.
    Ok you have been positive about this card in your earlier drifter reviews.

    Wow this is awesome! I'm super excited for more videos in this series, and I love that they're informed by actual play.
    I definitely appreciated the enhancements section. Thanks for including it.

    Absolutely phenomenal video. Even though I am going to play Drifter as Ranged DPS/Support, your thoughts with your past experience with the game and the class were really helpful. Thank you.

    It may have already been mentioned in the comments somewhere, but you can skip the heal from long resting and still long rest if you want to keep your Continuous Health charge. As far as I can tell, you can skip any heal ability: long rest, regeneration, attack modifiers, etc. So you don't have to kill the charge if you don't want to, but you do have to skip the whole heal to save it. Poison is annoying however, not sure how to get around that one.
    You're making Against All Odds harder on yourself than you need to. While you can't skip any targets in a red hex of an AoE attack, you CAN skip a target from the target symbol. The Frosthaven FAQ says as long as there isn't a Mandatory box, and it's not a negative effect on you or your allies, then you can choose to exclude targets from a Target All effect. So If you have four Crushing Weight charges left, and five enemies in range two, you can select three of them to hit and charge Crushing Weight right back up. This is true of all the multi target ranged cards you've been mentioning as well, although it wasn't clear to me if you thought you HAD to burn all the ranged persistent charges on all the multi target ranged attacks (in other words, if I can reach two opponents, then I have to shoot them both), or if you were just warning folks that they may eat them up really quickly because of the multi target nature of the ranged build.
    Finally, unfortunately, the FAQ also says that the drifter's perk to redraw loot cards does not help with the loot based personal quests. Because those quests specify "through loot cards" and these new cards are instead gained from this ability. =( I actually feel like it's a nice way to try and dig out the random item in the loot deck, since, as you mentioned, resources are just generally good so you don't mind exchanging one for another as you try to find those tasty random items. That probably still drops off in usefulness later on, when you have already depleted that deck of random items.
    Great video. Really enjoy your content. Thank you!

    I do want to correct you about something, positive effect like heal, you are not force to do it. You can choose to not take heal like 1 heal self rolling modifier. Also like multitarget you are not have to do all , you can choose your targets

    I just started playing frost haven a few weeks ago and we are on our 4th scenario. I know you werent a fan of draining arrows because it uses spots on the +1 to ranged damage passive, however I think this card is very good for mellee build as the bottom of the card is move 3 which is above average for the drifter and will also get a token moved back a space when used correctly. Also ignoring any damage it is also a very good contingency plan for if you cant move to safety and you know you are about to take massive damage, you can at least give the disadvantage to three targets, even if they need to move before hitting you, due to the range.

    Fortitude bottom is important on an aggressive ranged build at higher lvls ( ranged build ain't that strong at lvl 1 anyways ). They spend so many slots that you generally would play this as a third persistent alongside precision aim and fierce barrage.

    I skipped level 5 and went back for both level 3 cards. I used dual bow and unending fight to keep the tracks active. Damage output for ranged in a 4p game is really incredible

    I think the discarding loot cards perk is probably better at lower player counts, where you could be discarding 1 coin to pick up eg not just 1 say iron, but 2 iron. With some loot cards providing double resources, it becomes a lot better as you may not be swapping 1 thing for 1 thing, but 1 thing for 2.

    • @MandatoryQuest
      @MandatoryQuest  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes good point there definitely better at filter to those +2 resources at 2 player, but I've never really found resources to be hard to come by or needed in a timely way. The game seems very loose with its resources and the economy isn't tight enough IMO to really care what you are looting. I will say though filtering to try and get the random item in some scenarios does seem pretty legit.

    The heal for long rest is optional in Frosthaven. So you can skip the heal ability from long rest completely, hence prevent continuous health charge from falling?

    I think the bottom of relentless is OP. With the range it has, I have passively put out 15 damage in a senario.

  • @AmertumeB

    Are you sure Fierce Barrage would trigger Precision aim a second time ? Wouldn't it be your attack is transformed by P.A then you add a target to that attack ?

  • @hammerspace8866
    @hammerspace8866 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think if I was playing a ranged build I'd pick fierce barage over dual bow. Not entirely sure how I'd deal with preventing running out of precision aim charges.
    Perhaps I could even do without precision aim or activated it later.
    Adding 2 targets on good ranged attacks seems better then adding 1 damage and 1 range, especially once the attack deck is getting better.
    2 targets on deadly shot, sounds like a good opening turn, poison 2 enemies for your party to follow up on
    2 targets ont he ranged version of fortitude. attack 3 pierce 2 at range 3 on 2 targets
    2 targets on gift of prey to increase the chance of killing an enemy.
    I guess continious health top and ever forwards would be 2 other attack options.
    I think draining arrows top is a bit to draining to use for a ranged attacker. not enough range without precision aim. And it drains precision aim way to quickly especially when combined with fierce barrage. I think draining arrows top might actually work best on a melee/tanking build. A light disabling attack that doesn't cost charges(and might draw some recharge attack cards you can get from perks)
    What I also like about the drifter is how flexible the class is. Even if I make a ranged build with ever forwards, fierce barage and gift of prey, I could decide that this scenario I want to play melee and use fierce barage for it's top action and gift of prey for a good move 4 that might move a token back and just pick the good level 1/x melee cards.

    Question about the level 5 Survivalist: "heal X self, where X is twice the number of tokens and tiles looted". Not twice the number of tokens looted, not twice the number of tiles looted, but both. Let's say I loot a token from each of two tiles. I have looted two tokens and two tiles for a total of four "tokens and tiles looted". Doubled is 8. Non-burn Move 2, loot 1, heal 8 seems really good.
    Edit: oh wait, is this just in case your loot action includes not just loot token, but perhaps also a treasure tile?

    • @MandatoryQuest
      @MandatoryQuest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I believe it's to cover looting non token things like chests and even scenario objectives sometimes.

    Editing question: Crushing Weight is the most important card for this character and is referred to constantly between 0m and 48m. Any reason why it is not explained as the first or the second to get the range/melee builds well explained?

    • @MandatoryQuest
      @MandatoryQuest  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I recorded a lot of this as a constant recording in the order the cards are shown that wouldn't of worked chopped up. It was just an oversight on my behalf during recording, but I tried to remedy it in editing by including it in the character summary section first so at least I display it and we all know what it does. I even call myself out on that during the video that I should have bought it up first. I agree it's not ideal but I couldn't record the whole thing again.

    Questions on fortitude, is the top ability a melee attack with an optional to activate the ability of move forward your persistent ability and gain range 2? if you gain range is it no longer melee and is now ranged so you cant get the persistent bonus of +2 damage from your melee bonus ability card?

    • @NazgulGamer1
      @NazgulGamer1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't worry found it - it becomes ranged because it has range. The only way it doesn't get 'ranged' is if worked like an AoE swing or reach like a spear might do. Cheers

    • @MandatoryQuest
