O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever. 2 Let the house of Israel now say that He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever. 3 Let the house of Aaron now say that He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever. 4 Let all that fear the Lord now say that He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever. 5 Out of mine affliction I called upon the Lord, and He heard me and brought me into a broad place. 6 The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. 7 The Lord is my helper, and I shall look down upon mine enemies. 8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man. 9 It is better to hope in the Lord than to hope in princes. 10 All the nations compassed me round about, and by the name of the Lord I warded them off. 11 Surrounding me they compassed me, and by the name of the Lord I warded them off. 12 They compassed me about like unto bees around a honeycomb, and they burst into flame like a fire among the thorns, and by the name of the Lord I warded them off. 13 I was pushed and overturned that I might fall, and the Lord was quick to help me. 14 The Lord is my strength and my song, and He is become my salvation. 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous. 16 The right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength, the right hand of the Lord hath exalted me, the right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength. 17 I shall not die, but live, and I shall tell of the works of the Lord. 18 With chastisement hath the Lord chastened me, but He hath not given me over unto death. 19 Open unto me the gates of righteousness; I will enter therein and give thanks unto the Lord. 20 This is the gate of the Lord, the righteous shall enter in thereat. 21 I will give thanks unto Thee, for Thou hast heard me and art become my salvation. 22 The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner. 23 This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad therein. 25 O Lord, save now; O Lord, send now prosperity. Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. 26 We have blessed you out of the house of the Lord. God is the Lord, and hath appeared unto us. 27 Ordain a feast with thick boughs, even unto the horns of the altar. 28 Thou art my God, and I will confess Thee; Thou art my God, and I will exalt Thee. 29 I will give thanks unto Thee, for Thou hast heard me, and Thou art become my salvation. 30 O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.
Thanks very much, although those words are not exactly what they are saying. At the very least they say "in my distress" not "affliction", and I assume there are other changes. But close enough, I appreciate it.
If you dig this check out the compilation of English language chants on Orthodox Meme Squads channel, i think it's called "English Orthodox Chants But America Embraced Orthodoxy" or something like that (a great channel with a lot of good stuff, in spite of the silly sounding name). This chant is one of them, but the rest are just as good, in different styles. Also you must hear "Appalachian Orthodox Chant", which is really mind blowingly excellent, if you haven't come across it. I can tell already the sound of this is going to have powerful associations with a certain period of my life when i was listening to this every day. It already makes me feel nostalgic and that was only a year or so ago.
You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. You must love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus the anointed is Lord! Repent and be baptized and believe the Gospel.
Hi. Is there a possibility to get the music score? We r trying to found a youth choir, in English. Byzantine notation would be good, and I can try to teach the choir some verses.
It has the same refrain, but no. Psalm 135 talks a lot more about God creating everything, leading Israel out of Egypt and smacking the Canaanite kings around.

finally, an orthodox chant in english that actually sound good
Hymn of Saint Spyridon sounds good in English ☹️
Look up Psalm 102
I thought the same thing, English just doesn't have the same expressiveness as many other languages. But this one is quite good.
The lamentations are great
Look up Today He is Hung upon the tree
Favourite chant in English! Hands down. ☦️
Χριστὸς ἀνέστη ἐκ νεκρῶν,
θανάτῳ θάνατον πατήσας,
καὶ τοῖς ἐν τοῖς μνήμασι,
ζωὴν χαρισάμενος!
Christ is in our midst! He is and ever shall be! Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

Is it possible to get the music scores you used for Psalm 117? Thank you!
what church sang this psalm?
Isn't this Psalm 135?

What clicking noise?
It's a computer "click" noise starting at 2:25, 2:49, 2:56 etc
