The studio set was nice, but I was always frustrated with Matt's and Alison's apartments, they were intersecting lol. Matt goes to the bathroom, and he should be somewhere in Alison's kitchen 😂 And the inconsistently placed windows in the apartments lol. It turned out they only used 3 apartments (Jane's, Jake's and the studio apt), the others were only redecorated variations.
Yes, and another inconsistent thing was Jo's apartment. She rented the Rhonda's apartment because she wanted a second bedroom for the dark room and then we found out she used the bathroom for that.
When I was younger I wanted to live at Melrose Place. I either wanted to live in Apt 7 Syd's place or Apt 8 Brooke and Billy's pad. I felt those apartments had the best view of the courtyard.

They also used this as the exterior shot for Giles's apartment complex on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. IIRC his "courtyard" (only briefly seen) on that show looked more like the actual real life apartment complex.

It actually looks like Aaron Spelling's mob went with the look of the REAL courtyard of this place when they designed the set. Ok, so there's no Pool but those steps and railing are just like what led up to Amanda's apartment.
Amanda's apartment was number 4 and she had the biggest one of the complex. The laundry room is actually there! Of course there's no pool but there are 2 garages in front and the name of it is not Melrose Place, it's called "El Pueblo"....meaning "The Place". There are signs on the gates telling visitors to not trespass due to the fame of the television show. People do it anyways. The courtyard still looks the same but the only thing missing is the pool. Jakes apartment is still in the same place with the doormat that reads "GO AWAY". This is an incredible place to visit but it's not located anywhere near Melrose Ave.
Very cool guys, it was great of you to share this with all the Melrose Place fan's. They have re run's of the show here in New Zealand, will be going to LA in April so it is a must see on my list.
I stayed one block away from the street Melrose Place in west Hollywood, and drove down it to look for this place lol. Now I know where it is, thank you.

Wonder why whoever chose this place wanted it for the show? I mean yeah its ok looking, but nothing as far as architecture i havent seen before. ANd hard to believe that no pool existed. So the camera moved to fast for me to see what was in the middle of the place......rock garden?

The lighting gives it away, there were always shadows cast on the wall from artificial lighting that natural sunlight wouldn't give.

svz2000 looks sooo different and in the show it looks bigger and all the apartments facing the pool and now seeing this it looks so small
Every Melrose Place's fans allow you for trespassing anytime, in case you see a sign.
