    I've never wanted kids in my entire life. I do love them but never wanted them. People ask me why I don't want kids and I simply ask them why do you want? For a long time we have been taught this is the thing you're supposed to do. Well I live in India and here the life is completely different, I grew up in crowded streets, train station and we'll every thing is crowded and maybe this changed my mind. The things that you should consider before having kids are your financial condition, the society you live in, your drive to raise a child and the most important thing do you want a child? There are people out there who don't want to have kids for various reasons like global warming, donating there resources to the needy, world economy, job security, and now the new thing will be COVID-19. If it was upto me I will ask people first to donate money to the poor kids in your country or wherever your feel comfortable.

      Where do you come to that conclusion? My father has his doctorate and had 3 daughters. My sister's have master's degrees and they both have 3 kids each. I just have a bachelor's degree and have 3 kids. We lost our youngest child to cancer at 12 years old, so we're having our fourth. It's a considered decision. My husband and I have 200 acres in Canada with our own lake. We have a passive home and live off grid, grow our own food and have some livestock. We earn income WFH. All of our decisions have been made thoughtfully and deliberately.
      As the world heats up, we've carefully chosen a sustainable home that will be warmer but shouldn't get too hot. RIP snow by 2050.
      I'm not saying everyone who has kids has been cautious and thoughtful but most people I know have taken family planning very seriously.

    The amount of views on this video shows that no one has interest in this topic. Humans are acting disgustingly and selfishly that they have no time to think about this crisis. Only a few people have the voice and power to tell other people what will happen and how to solve it, but even if there are solutions, no one will take the time and effort to solve it. Just like the climate crisis, there are solutions given to us, right in front our faces. But what do we do? We as humans, ignore them.

      Population control is tyranny. We should not even try to restrain our burgeoning population sizes. More and more people would be glad to live. The more populous that we can become, the more people around to experience life. What could be more win-win for humans? I have long discouraged the usage of birth control and encouraged people to have large families, as I believe every human life to be of immense value and sacred. We should respect our bodies' reproductive rhythms and not hinder its attempts to get pregnant. Whatever happened to children being a blessing?

So busy thinking about ways to make old people "useful" and life long education, while the real problems on our planet are lack of resources such as fuel, water, food, minerals etc. and we have pollution and climate change. Overpopulation may last a few generations but as soon as we run out of fuel we will be forced to go back probably to 2 billion very rapidly. Nature always balances the ecosystem.

    Population dynamics can change with real small d democratizing: education, mainly of women, clean hygienic infrastructure, universal healthcare - all such things that drop pressure from people’s lives. This causes birth rates to drop below slowed infant mortality & slowed death rates. Stop the permanent war economy that constricts people’s lives, drives up infant mortality and spikes death rates, yet birth rates outstrip like stratospherically. Western democracies have needed immigration to keep GDP up, a horrifying metric. So much needs to change, can change with Bernie Sanders 2020. He has fought for people’s causes for decades, proven to do the people’s bidding for all our common causes. Then listen to Tulsi Gabbard and Marianne Williamson too. If those 3 worked together, like if TG & MW folded their candidacies into supporting Bernie’s the momentum will be unstoppable but still needs grassroots working vs $ellection chicanery

    She doesn’t really address the real reason for the coming STEEP reduction in population … the education of women. The more educated a woman is, the fewer children she has. We see this occur all over the world.
    The consequence of this is economic disruption, poverty, forced migration and depopulation of cities and rural areas.
    Immigration helps with depopulation but most countries are below replacement levels.
    People should be encouraged to have two children to keep the population stable enough for a viable economic base … otherwise, we have a really bad problem on our hands that is really tough to fix in the short term.

    • @grahamjacob97
      @grahamjacob97 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So we should restrict education for women and continue to control them like we always use to?
      Sorry, not going to happen (and nor should it).
      What we need to do is to think about what is really important - and this is addressed in the talk.
      For a variety of reasons a smaller population would be better for the planet. Infinite growth on a finite planet is impossible.

    We need quit spending time on worrying about how all this will play out and trust God to provide everything we need. The estimation of how many years it took to populate the earth is just a guess because there is no such thing as a year. The earth is flat and stationary not revolving around the sun.
