  • This is episode #5 my TV show, The Tim Ferriss Experiment! The show is like MythBusters meets Jason Bourne. In every episode, I partner with the world’s best and most unorthodox teachers (e.g., Laird Hamilton, Marcelo Garcia, Stewart Copeland), who train me for a final gauntlet. Shocking breakthroughs, injuries, epiphanies, and disasters are all part of the journey. Along the way, I show you how to replicate results in an attempt to prove that “you don’t need to be superhuman to get superhuman results… you just need a better toolkit.”
    I’ll be releasing all episodes of my TV show, The Tim Ferriss Experiment, on TH-cam- for free. It was a maze to secure the rights, but now it’s done.
    Make sure to subscribe to my TH-cam channel to get notified of all upcoming episodes.
    Enjoy!
    Tim Ferriss is one of Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Business People” and an early-stage tech investor/advisor in Uber, Facebook, Twitter, Shopify, Duolingo, Alibaba, and 50+ other companies. He is also the author of five #1 New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestsellers: The 4-Hour Workweek, The 4-Hour Body, The 4-Hour Chef, Tools of Titans and Tribe of Mentors. The Observer and other media have named him “the Oprah of audio” due to the influence of his podcast, The Tim Ferriss Show, which has exceeded 900 million downloads and been selected for “Best of Apple Podcasts” three years running.

    The best thing about this episode is that Tim couldn’t go all the way through and still showed it. Loved it.

    Tim, as someone your age whose been training pk since 2010, it’s difficult to over state the amount of conditioning, especially joints (ankles, toes, knees) you’ll need to be doing the drops you’re doing. Eg, 50 precisions minimum, same amount to train joints for drops (jump down two steps to practice landings 50x)

    Curious to see how physical skills can be picked up quickly. I figured it's not just a case of building the muscle memory, but also conditioning of bones, muscle etc.

    I still cant comprehend Tim Ferris said he is introvert on previous podcast, coz I would never have figured that out. I am an introvert myself. He seems like people person. Also the reason I keep watching his content is bcoz he is a postive dude. His optimism inspires me.

    • @sukotu23
      @sukotu23 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Being an introvert doesn't mean you're unable to talk to people easily. Introversion != social anxiety.

    • @mactireliath2356
      @mactireliath2356 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He’s talked about how much effort it takes him to put himself out there; for an introvert, that in itself IS part of the challenge. Lucky for him he is not also risk-adverse, so he can challenge his nature.

    Huge amounts of respect! I can imagine the thoughts prepping for this one, as you know your body very well, you knew the ligament issues may arise but you went full bore anyway. I found myself cheering when you attempted the first precision jump on the 3rd tree after the roll through. Bravo Tim!

    Good afternoon and Happy Friday Tim
    Super reminiscent of my son as a fun loving kid. He was jumping about interested in parkour when he was maybe twelve, thirteen ish. He is now twenty five and a proud Dad of a beautiful daughter and another on the way. Super good crazy, indeed.
    I was at the time terrified 😂 and momentarily educated (Google etc) on said subject when learning what he was up to, out there in our big world with his mates. Could have been worse of course!
    Anyways just want to say appreciate you sharing your experiences and thankyou for sharing the continued aspirational things you do.
    Super grateful.
    😀

    Cramming may work for intellectual pursuits but it's not the greatest plan for physical training.

    Did you actually stick that precision jump? Editing the landing like that and your terrible foot placement dosn't make me that confident I have to say. Still, fun stuff.

    I don't think parkour is ideal for over 30yrs old, even if someone is well trained. Knees and back will suffer. 😢

    • @Andrew-dg7qm
      @Andrew-dg7qm 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I disagree - It’s perfect for someone over 30, they have more maturity. I didn’t start until I was in my mid 30’s, but I had good teachers. And more built up fear to break, that’s the rub
