Excellent discussion of De Niro's work. I avoided the remake of Cape Fear for years, because I saw no reason to remake such a classic. But when a friend gave me a copy, I gave it a watch and was totally blown away by De Niro's interpretation of that role. And I recently rewatch The King of Comedy after many years and I had forgotten what an incredible film it is, and how good De Niro is. I have a special love for his work in New York, New York, because it's so atypical and so much fun.
Difficult to rank De Niro's performances but these are all incredible performances. This is a great vid and makes me want to rewatch many of these films, especially the ones I haven't seen for many years, like The Deer Hunter. 👍
Great list. Robert De Niro is the greatest actor of all time, such iconic performances in so many movies. Close second and third would be Al Pacino and Marlon Brando.

@@grey1951 I’ll have to look into New York, New York. He has quite the filmography!

@@steve4films I’ve noticed in these rewatches that every single performance is better than I remember. It’s really worth it.
Dam right brother Goodfellows is the greatest gangster movie 👌🏻 fantastic video
I just got my copy of The Remains of the Day in BTW and finished the book!

Hopkins performance is outstanding

I'm of a pretty similar thought pattern there for sure.
