    Wonder why did they have him lip sync? Every other performance of him on the Apollo is live

      I think they saw the error of their ways and realized that letting him sing live would be best. 🤔👏👏🎤

      Most of.the artists on "Showtime At the Apollo" did perform live. This was the early years of the show.

      Yes, but it it was common to do so on music shows back in the day, such as APOLLO, AMERICAN BANDSTAND, SOUL TRAIN, SOLID GOLD, ETC. Everyone who performed on these shows lip-synced for the most part.

      @enriquetheprofessor not so much on the Apollo though. Apollo was mostly known for its live performances. Those other shows, absolutely.
