      Thank you. This flight was more of a test to see if this quad had the battery and video capability to get there and back..plus to video the area to study line of sight obstructions. I will be flying there more this summer closer and faster. May eventually fly to the south sister peak too.

      Thank you for watching. My go to antennas right now are a ORT 6 turn Helical and also a VAS Crosshair Xtreme on a Rapidfire module. Will over time see how far I can fly this configuration. So far 3.6 miles with more to go.

    Beautiful long range flight and an awesome experience to share with your son on Father’s Day. These long range flights always make the starfish pucker. It’s hard to remember everything before a long flight like setting voltage alarms and all of that. I enjoy some acro flying from time to time but long range cruising over beautiful terrain like this is the best! I built a 15” prop 680 sized quad for some extreme long range flights I just haven’t built up the nerve to push it yet. It’ll hover for about 55 minutes. It has some t motor antigravity 380 KV motors, hobbywing xRotor 50 amp esc’s, 15” folding props, 6s 10,000 mah lipo which I want to swap out for a li-ion pack, and a naza-m v2 and tbs core pro/black box that I took off of my old tbs discovery. I built it just for that purpose but there is so much $ on that thing I’m nervous to get that far out 😂. It has a crossfire diversity RX and tbs 2.4 video on the quad and I have a TBS ground station with a yagi antenna that I connect my goggles to.

    Got to love those TBS crossfire nano diversity receivers with there telemetry lost over and over. Funny none of my other TBS non diversity do this.

    • @ValleyFPV
      @ValleyFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. My other TBS non diversity nano receiver does not have an option to disable the telemetry. Only the nano diversity does. Does that mean that the others are not sending telemetry??

    • @Freebird_67
      @Freebird_67 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ValleyFPV no they send telemetry. What I think the issue is with the diversity nano receivers is the antennas being in such close proximity to each other or it could be algorithm related since the diversity receivers do actually have two transceivers and they may be conflict between the two of them.

    • @Freebird_67
      @Freebird_67 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really like your videos and your flying style. Ive been toying with building a long range and i think the takeoff shot in this may have been the final push i needed to just build one. I love my little fast drones but there is something so cool to me about picking a place miles away and making the journey over a longer time period just cruising with a co pilot. I guess my next move is just to find a nice mountain in new hampshire which is not too far from me and go to getfpv to start buying a few parts. Do you travel far for these videos or do you live near the mountains?

    • @ValleyFPV
      @ValleyFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and the kind words. I live less than an hour drive from some nice hills and these mountain peaks and lots of wide open areas perfect for exploring. I did the opposite..learned to fly longer range and now learning how to fly close in and hit gates.lol

    • @ValleyFPV
      @ValleyFPV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea i have read that those dji units if they cut out can take a while to reconnect. Too much time = loss of control. HDzero or analof is not as sharp image but it is stable and works.

    I have the same Rush Tank Solo, but the range is very disappointing. I use a Skyzone Cobra X which comes with the Rapidmix VTX which is very good by reviews. For antennas, I use all the best in the market: a VAS 5.8GHz Crosshair Extreme LHCP and a Lumenier Micro AXII 2 LHCP for the goggles, and another identical Luminier for the Tank Solo. With Rush Tank at 1600mW I only got 2km before the video breaks up. The result is just on par with using open source PCB patch and pagoda antennas. I thought this set up would get me a range of at least 4-5km. Any advice anyone?

    • @ValleyFPV
      @ValleyFPV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Try some long helicals if you havnt. Aiming is critical but they work.

    • @nguyenducquocanh4341
      @nguyenducquocanh4341 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ValleyFPV I have just made 2 x 7 turn helical antennas and after just some ground testing, I already notice that they are much more powerful than all the above mentioned. Do you point the helical directly to the VTX antenna? Because in my case they both have the best signal when pointing 45 degrees from the VTX antenna. Is that normal?

    • @ValleyFPV
      @ValleyFPV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nguyenducquocanh4341 My experience is that the helicals I have used had best reception pointing the axis of the helical to the vtx.

      Why was BUZZ reading out speed and altitude data to Neil during their approach to the moon landing? It's called teamwork. Allowing the pilot to focus. Plus..unknown to most I often ask my son what the OSD readings are in an attempt to get him engaged..instead of looking at his cell phone at tic tok.
