Quite a few comments asking where the parking lots are on console, it would appear they are bugged upon the launch of the patch this morning. Console really can't catch a break at the minute 😬 CO are aware and are working with the console Devs to fix asap. Sorry console folks, another one to stomach!
I came here to ask this question if anyone didn't have them as well to findout you already answered the question i was looking for, great work and i really love your vanilla series as i can follow along ❤️
Thanks for the feedback. I'm forced to let people park on the sidewalks than for now. Maybe the police can accommodate some parking spaces on the Meadows between the buildings. It's terrible but we will work with it
The mini african pack has allot of good assets for you to make a nice casino strip in your Ilos build. The splash of color definitely reminds me of the Vegas strip. Can't wait to see you add these into a build.
36:22 you could actually use the skylights as perhaps some ploppable small greenhouses, perhaps for some weird spaces in farming/forestry districts etc.
I kinda want to use the Africa content together with the Mid-Century Modern pack in a tropical map. The little temples would look cool around a tropical city park I think
Thank you for all that, Egg. Absolutely insane amount of content here, and I can't wait to dive into it all myself! This'll keep us super busy until Cities 2 drops.
My first thought for the smaller ferries was in areas like Canalaven, small shuttle ferries. Plus then the bridges can be lower and not look so insane.
when i heard there was a sports ccp coming out i was praying for an aussie rules football park to be added, i was heard!! you're a legend badpeanut! one thing i think you forgot that was added in the base game was the cities skylines 8 year birthday park but i can't really blame you for missing it since the update is so huge lol. amazing update and ccps, can't wait for next ccps and news about the next expansion in may
I didn't finish yet watching the video but I arrived to the metro-train-monorail-tram glorious hub at 12:37. Seeing the road underneath I can just think on doing a beautiful station hub with roads going to the station parking, taxis stopping and cars just stopping on the entrance to drop people and leave... Precious
Now I have to clear a space in every suburb to put in a footy oval! I am actually so glad that Aussie Rules has got an inclusion in the game, that pack looks amazing!
Seeing that fence made me realize how awesome it would be if fences had noise suppression like trees. would love to put a row of that fencing along a suburban train track and have that actually fulfill the intended purpose. I wonder how hard it would be to add that trait to various props, or maybe even uploaad custom fences as trees on the workshop, lol alternatively I'm gonna need some invisible trees...
The last building you mentioned (the one that you say is brutalist and looks kind of like a silo). That seems to be modelled (and takes inspiration) from the Silo Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa. And fun fact, yes, it used to be a silo but was converted into a very very luxurious hotel (I think like 5 star hotel)
This new content drop is huge! So much new stuff that's going to be so much fun to use! You had mentioned that you weren't too excited about the new ferries which I could see. But I was thinking the smaller ferries could be used as like catamarans- so if you had a bigger island with cruise liners dropping people off at, the smaller ferries could be used to transport people to other mini islands or places around that area instead of using bigger chunky ferries. I LOVE the new stadiums! I can't wait to use them, thanks for this video OE
The Africa pack has a lot of good assets for an American costal area. I live next to the coast and there are a lot of colorful buildings, especially as you get closer to the water. The Communication Center will be incorporated into a university too. My alma mater has a communication building that looks very similar. Thanks for the video! It was a lot of new content and was nice to see them all individually laid out.
I feel like I called that harbor bus hub into existence 😂 ...last night I'm putting in bus lines and put one in front of the harbor yelling, why isnt there a better option???? ...I hate having the cims standing out there in front or nearby to catch public transport, but now I'm set!! 🎉🎉🎉
That metro-train-monorail-tram transit hub is awesome, the only thing I would change is having the metro tracks both be elevated and have the train tracks both be on the ground, or vice versa. I don't see myself running both on ground and above ground options for train and metro very often.
So much content to fawn over, I bet we'll see a lot of cities consisting of basically just stadiums with some commercial and residential around it - or tucked away in a corner 😂 Great showcase as always, time flew by watching this loong list of updates.
That park monument would maybe work well on top of a mountain as an extension of the mountain, especially nice that it doesn’t need a road. Some of those smaller monuments would work well in a mid century modern neighborhood since they would stand out more over those low height houses, the unity pyramid matches the triangular shape of some of that housing.
The Shopping Malls one is amazing and I just bought it, but I'm not sure why there's no signage on the growables. The look a bit bare and so don't obviously look like commercial.
The African school building at 42:54 is a real world design, by award-wining architect Diébédo Francis Kéré from Burkina Faso. It combines locally producible materials with modern and traditional building techniques to allow for great ventilation and cooling.
Great video about the updates and new content! I think my favourite things that you showed were actually the baseball parks, those look much better than what we currently have! I also rally enjoyed the shopping plazas, lots of opportunities for detailing those I think! Thank you Egg, great overview!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Would love to see you do a few episodes revisiting Palaven and Noveria with all the new content we've had in the last year, giving them both an update.
Im very happy for the new stuff, but one thing I thought would be cool is a mall that is intengrated with some public transport. Just like some roads going under a mall or an elevated metro station fuzed in to the nall. A very cool example of a mall using public transport options is Mall Of Tripla in Finland, which is a mall built on top of multiple trainrails, and it has a 4 lane overpass connecting trams and busses and normal cars to the front of the mall.
OMG monorails over trams! In one of my cities, I was laying out a tram route only to realize I had forgotten there was already a monorail with a stop running over part of the road. I had to route the trams off to the side of the road, on their own rights of way, to get them around the monorail section. Now I can redo that and keep the trams on the road under the monorail and even let passengers transfer directly from one to the other. Also, that (American) football field with the bleachers looks great. Where I live, a high school isn’t really a high school without one of these. Also nice are the stand alone soccer goals-those are common in parks around here, in fields that can be used for picnics or for soccer.
i see a lot of cool modable stuff in this new set. I really want to see the ferry monorail hub if you can play around with the angle the monorail comes out at. Will be a lot of fun projects for sure!
It's funny - the park monument seems to be the Afrikaans Language monument, near Cape Town, South Africa. And the "brutalist" building you then showed is actually called the Silo hotel. It was a Silo in the Cape Town port, now very fancy and part of the extended Waterfront area.
I just downloaded the big parking lot streets YESTERDAY without knowing about the new update. I'm still quite overwhelmed with it tho, so ... good timing, I guess.
Whilst I won’t be getting this any time soon this is an amazing range of updates and CCP to the game! Cannot wait to see you use these in Orchid Bay and Thessia
Australian football is actually rugby. This was a great update. CARPARKS!!! Also new roads. Great showcase for the assets. I am on console and I have one of the carparks, the multistory decorative parking lot. (under leisure and under other parks). The quay's are a little finiky to hook up to walking paths. just stop one square away from the quay.
Aussie Rules Ovals! Awesome for somebody who is going to do an Australian inspired city!! Go Bombers. All the new updates look amazing, but to see something so quintessentially Australian is so exciting. love it.
I feel like a lot of the Africa pack would work well in either a beach front or a casino/nightlife type of district. But the thing that I'm personally the most excited about..... the parking!!!!!!!! :)
I was thinking to myself that those outdoor malls looked familiar. I realized they are inspired by the Pacific City outdoor mall in Huntington Beach CA. Would explain the name “Ocean City”
"It doesn't massively look like a school, it kinda looks like a block of toilets" lol, the sheer bluntness of this statement. Can't disagree though, but I was thinking more like a small bus stop, which is probably what I'd pair it with, use it as some waiting shelters on a bus route.
Just to point out that the search facility is PC only... as are the filters. Console users flicked the Vs again. Given the token nod to console land I assume CS2 will follow the same pattern, and probably won't be gen-4 playable either.
I really like the new ferries. For the first time they look like something that would actually be used as a inner city ferry. The capacity is a little low, but they at least look good.
Well....that's it...a completely new build on this map with all magnificent new assets...and can't wait to see how Egg will incorporate all those assets in this build...😀🥰
The park monument looks like it may have been modelled on the Afrikaans Language (Taal) monument in Paarl, South Africa: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afrikaans_Language_Monument
You pronounced the "Sanctum of Oduduwa" quite well. You did good mate. Cheers all the way from Nigeria (Oduduwa is the ancestor of the Yoruba tribe (my tribe).
as an aussie might just cop it for AFL. Those soccer, baseball and American football stadiums where meh cuz we don't have them here but for a local afl pitch is like a must get holy shit I love them
They're some really good looking vanilla assets. Plus, it's great to see the addition of more transport hubs and roads. I've been playing the Playstation version since release and always happy to get access to new content. Still a little salty that the PS5 remaster hasn't added any new traffic control options (for junctions and roundabouts). Traffic management has always been the game's Achilles heel but I trust we'll see that at some point.
Natural disaster dlc is underrated in that it adds so much more activity into the skylines with emergency helicopters. Glad to see the developer agreed and added more! Here's hoping that CS2 actually has a use for those medical helicopters.
I already know that bus-tram-train hub is going to find its way into Orchid Bay.. somewhere downtown, I'd guess? Also love the asymmetrical highways! We don't have them here but they do use them in Germany and i swear, it would save so many accidents and death's if our national roads (highways) had these passing lanes so cars going 100km/h can pass slower vehicles like coaches (90km/h) or trucks (80km/h)..
I also bought all three (Console player) and nothing new showed up. All I could find was the parking garage and maybe a couple roads, not sure about the transport stuff. Basically, no parking lots, no Africa stuff, no stadiums, no malls...Oh, and the big birthday cake park was there, that was it, so basically (I'm on PS4Pro) nothing really showed up, even though I paid for them all...Hopefully they will fix it soon...
Seeing those awesome arenas gave me one thought. Y'know what's missing from this game? Race tracks. One last DLC best include tracks, of all kinds. Greyhound, horse, go-kart, auto, etc.
Love the video, though the lighting angle on some of the buildings left them a bit dark and hard to admire (vanilla problems I'm guessing). Thanks for laying out all the new roads, I thought I'd still need the sound barrier highway versions from Vanilla+ but you showed that I wouldn't 👍This wasn't even something from the new stuff but loved seeing how your little tram stop with Parklife assets has evolved to include the new pedestrian-only roads, I saw the video where you made it with just normal roads 😍 The Baobab tree that you said is very particular to a savannah does have other uses, though still mostly desert - they grow in the Northern areas of Australia as well, where it's tropical desert and around the same latitude as the savannah parts of Africa. According to our hardware store's blog, the trees can grow in warm temperate areas and I have actually seen them down South in Western Australia but they have to be tended to carefully. Would probably be more about how you blended them in. Though there are some nice desert maps in CS1 now, where they'd fit far better than the palm trees and conifers 😂
Badpeanut-just added everything I wanted, I really hope this is added to Cities Skylines 2. Mall Content pack-I like the mall incorporation, I wish that the strip mall was plopable but the rest make sense in terms of "as a city" having more than 1 mall in a city is a bit much, plus if you had more than 1 that were the same, the idea of going to it would be less desirable. This is how I view the malls. The Final DLC-for something a little risky would be adding a lot of the props into a Financial district. The service building might pair well with the After-dark DLC along with tourism. Great little additions, but Badpeanut just stole the show, amazing addition with all the stadiums and a transit.
Not sure about the inspiration for the other african buildings, but the 300 capacity school is based on this: th-cam.com/video/jAHeoh4TuCM/w-d-xo.html The roof is raised from a lower ceiling and separated from the walls to create an air cushion that insulates the classroom while letting the hot air out (cross ventilation), the walls are made of hand-made bricks for further insulation, the bricks made from local clay and other local materials. The building is designed to be passively cooled on the scorching sun and dirt-cheap to build while still blending into the community around and needing 0 maintenance for decades. Also, the community built it (with help from the architect and some engineers)
This game, together with the FallOut series must have given me the most bang for my buck in any purchase I made. I payed like 40 Euro back in the day for the mayor editon and some extra DLC for like 40. 80 euro's have given me 6 years of pure joy.
Great update for vanilla users, will try to make a new city with new roads and transit system, and new CCP are amazing - thats what we needed, a lil shame they added it so late, but its always better late than never :) Thanks for video as always and cannot wait for more from you !
Quite a few comments asking where the parking lots are on console, it would appear they are bugged upon the launch of the patch this morning. Console really can't catch a break at the minute 😬

Thanks for the feedback. I'm forced to let people park on the sidewalks than for now. Maybe the police can accommodate some parking spaces on the Meadows between the buildings. It's terrible but we will work with it
Well that sucks
Not just that but the textures for all of the update assets are terrible. The buildings look worse than the houses in Paperboy.
Jesus christ, we wait 8 years for something so trivial just to have it not come out on the day it's supposed to.
The stadiums are quality I've wanted plain football fields for so long I'm glad they're finally here
I’m blown away by the detail of the stadiums…. yes please
also thank god for suburb appropriate sports fields
Wow this update was outstanding! The send off that this game deserves. Can't wait to see the last batch
The mini african pack has allot of good assets for you to make a nice casino strip in your Ilos build. The splash of color definitely reminds me of the Vegas strip. Can't wait to see you add these into a build.

As an Australian I am very happy about the inclusion of aussie footy, too bad I won't be able to buy the pack for a while
Only $8.50 though, bargain!! 😊
I just love how you're loving it. "Yes, please." "So good." You make me smile.
The Boabab tree would work really well as a feature tree in a park
Gonna BOB all the trees in Central park into them! Muahahahaha! Nothing but canopy!!
I’m going to put them in my zoo, that’s where I put all my exotic trees that don’t really fit in elsewhere
@@hustledude ah will go wonderful in a zoo
It's about time that trams get the respect they need! Can't wait to see how you'll use the content on the noobs guide and the new series build!!!!
Lots of new fun assets for the downtown for sure!
I don’t know what I enjoyed more, the new updates or OE’s excitement ❤
Thank you for all that, Egg. Absolutely insane amount of content here, and I can't wait to dive into it all myself! This'll keep us super busy until Cities 2 drops.
The stuff in this video makes it one of the best updates immediately, and it's not even touching on all the long requested bug fixes implemented.
My first thought for the smaller ferries was in areas like Canalaven, small shuttle ferries. Plus then the bridges can be lower and not look so insane.

Excellent review, EGG! I was grinning from ear to ear through the whole thing. I figured something along this line would be in order @1:34 😂
I didn't finish yet watching the video but I arrived to the metro-train-monorail-tram glorious hub at 12:37. Being that you are vanilla heavy, I knew you'd love this update....I'm just excited those little taxi stands will work now 😆

13:42 Right on! Even the Disney ferrys carry 600
26:58 Is it me or are the stadium lights reskins of the Aerial Tram supports?
Wow, I can’t wait to see you add some of this stuff to Orchid Bay! My only question is, how are you going to decide which items to add?
I'll let you know when I know lol
I came here just to say this lol......What is in the future for Orchid bay?
The Africa pack has a lot of good assets for an American costal area. I live next to the coast and there are a lot of colorful buildings, especially as you get closer to the water. The Communication Center will be incorporated into a university too. My alma mater has a communication building that looks very similar.

I can see the african building mixed with commercials in a themed comercial district, lots of orange and yellow may give it a good vibe.
That metro-train-monorail-tram transit hub is awesome, the only thing I would change is having the metro tracks both be elevated and have the train tracks both be on the ground, or vice versa. I don't see myself running both on ground and above ground options for train and metro very often.

Paradox's money suuure heeelps too 🥱
What to say other than . I really am overwhelmed by all of this content.
Thanks for this showcase! Especially love the new stadiums.

Omg love that bad peanut included the Aussie typical sports like AFL and cricket! Right on time for your Thessia series ;)
Me too heather! Almost a coincidence haha!
The Shopping Malls one is amazing and I just bought it, but I'm not sure why there's no signage on the growables. The look a bit bare and so don't obviously look like commercial.
“Wowsers trousers” 🤣🤣🤣
Very fantastic! I love it!! All of the detailing of Colossal Order, so good!🤩
So excited with all the new content! Thank you, Egg!
Thanks for watching Marina!
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG I will always watch your CS content! No brainer! 🙂
The African school building at 42:54 is a real world design, by award-wining architect Diébédo Francis Kéré from Burkina Faso.
It combines locally producible materials with modern and traditional building techniques to allow for great ventilation and cooling.
That little metro tram hub and the massive metro-train-monorail-tram hub are some of the coolest assets of any DLC
Great video about the updates and new content! I think my favourite things that you showed were actually the baseball parks, those look much better than what we currently have! I also rally enjoyed the shopping plazas, lots of opportunities for detailing those I think! Thank you Egg, great overview!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Seeing the Afrikaans Language monument really took me by surprise, but not a bad surprise at all.
I just downloaded the big parking lot streets YESTERDAY without knowing about the new update. I'm still quite overwhelmed with it tho, so ... good timing, I guess.
All of these “American football” fields are actually Canadian football, because of the goalposts being at the front of the end zone.
As an Aussie I love the cricket and AFL stuff! Also, the mega shopping centre looks like Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne.
Sounds like a trip to Melbourne in Google Earth is needed!
Can't wait to see all the new content in Orchid Bay (and Thessia) 😍🤩
Whilst I won’t be getting this any time soon this is an amazing range of updates and CCP to the game! Cannot wait to see you use these in Orchid Bay and Thessia

no its not tf completey different sport. AFL is AFL, NRL is rugby league and Rugby is Rugby Union. (aka all called footy)

13:06 Please, use this at the airport in the serie 😂
Aussie Rules Ovals! Awesome for somebody who is going to do an Australian inspired city!! Go Bombers. All the new updates look amazing, but to see something so quintessentially Australian is so exciting. love it.
I'm so excited about this. Can't wait to get playing with all these amazing things.
Love the tram hubs. Woot, I know exactly where those are going in my city.
Great breakdown, Egg! Looking forward to jumping in and trying them out.

I was thinking to myself that those outdoor malls looked familiar. I realized they are inspired by the Pacific City outdoor mall in Huntington Beach CA. Would explain the name “Ocean City”
Here's hoping they add actual parking that's functional in the 2nd game. Crazy that it took this long to add even decorative ones to the game
"It doesn't massively look like a school, it kinda looks like a block of toilets" lol, the sheer bluntness of this statement. Can't disagree though, but I was thinking more like a small bus stop, which is probably what I'd pair it with, use it as some waiting shelters on a bus route.
Those sports stadiums, and the community ones, are superb.
Such a great update. Place bets on when all content for all dlc's is available for remastered.
Just to point out that the search facility is PC only... as are the filters. Console users flicked the Vs again. Given the token nod to console land I assume CS2 will follow the same pattern, and probably won't be gen-4 playable either.

41:41 building looks like a county prison post style lol
Yayifications for lots of new sports fields and stadiums! And I could see the African buildings in a Caribbean build, too.
My jaw genuinely dropped at the stadiums. WOW
The sports parks make this absolutely worth it! I am still a fan of King Leno's high school park assets though.
I also bought all three (Console player) and nothing new showed up. All I could find was the parking garage and maybe a couple roads, not sure about the transport stuff. Race tracks.
One last DLC best include tracks, of all kinds. Greyhound, horse, go-kart, auto, etc.
There are two variations of the Parking Garage. I also love you can choose variations of some zoned Shopping Malls commercial buildings.
1:40 why does he kind of sound like that guy that ran Slytherin? When talking about the fence five points for Gryffindor😂 or maybe just me
Stadium dlc is amazing, hope it standardize stadium sizes for modders.
Love the video, though the lighting angle on some of the buildings left them a bit dark and hard to admire (vanilla problems I'm guessing). Thanks for laying out all the new roads, I thought I'd still need the sound barrier highway versions from Vanilla+ but you showed that I wouldn't 👍This wasn't even something from the new stuff but loved seeing how your little tram stop with Parklife assets has evolved to include the new pedestrian-only roads, I saw the video where you made it with just normal roads 😍

Would probably be more about how you blended them in. Though there are some nice desert maps in CS1 now, where they'd fit far better than the palm trees and conifers 😂
Its crazy that they are making updates with this much content this late in the game and with cities 2 on the horizon.
Monetization+Capitalism+Modders doing ur work for u for a fraction of the price = DLC's ,coooountless DLC's ...& did I mention radio packs 🤔🤑♻️💰💰💰
American football stadiums and vanilla Parking!! Finally! Can't wait to play around with these.
All I see in the thumb is your excitement over proper parking lots
Those asymetrical are wrong, arent? There should be 1 in 2 out.... but its 2in 1 out. .... @10:05
i´ve saw that too
Not sure about the inspiration for the other african buildings, but the 300 capacity school is based on this: th-cam.com/video/jAHeoh4TuCM/w-d-xo.html
The roof is raised from a lower ceiling and separated from the walls to create an air cushion that insulates the classroom while letting the hot air out (cross ventilation), the walls are made of hand-made bricks for further insulation, the bricks made from local clay and other local materials.
Great update for vanilla users, will try to make a new city with new roads and transit system, and new CCP are amazing - thats what we needed, a lil shame they added it so late, but its always better late than never :)
Thanks for video as always and cannot wait for more from you !
Love that we've got some footy ovals (AFL) just in time for Thessia 😍😍😁
