I just did mine on my Kenworth t600 cat c15 acert it was 120.00 paccard branded my mechanic was able to replace it WITH OUT having to discharge the system I paid him 120.00 My little piece of advice, Don't try to do it yourself unless you have the right tools ,the bolt he showed you. A pully puller and the tweesers to get the looking rings off ( the other compressor has 2) and as long as you don't have to remove and discharge the compressor then yes is worth it give a shot but if the truck you have doesn't have enough space to work with and you have to remove the compressor then DON'T do it, might as well replace the ac compressor
The clutch is around $100.00 + shipping and honestly is not worth it, to just replaced the clutch.
Thanks for the video! Wow I thought it was sealed together! So if I take mine apart now and put anti seize on all the parts it should be easy to replace on the road whenever the coil goes bad. Then I don’t have to buy a new compressor and dryer and reload the system at a shop.
Save money way to fix the AC compressor . Alliance brand clutch about 75-80$.
Exactly only if the clutch is spinning and there is no melted parts. If the clutch is melted that means the compressor locked up.
This is my current issue, clutch needs a tap to help it engage. Compressor works fine no issues. Labor vs just buying an entirely new Compressor.

@insertuniquenamehere396 yes, it was the clutch. The labor to replace the clutch vs just replacing the compressor was minimal.
@insertuniquenamehere396 buy the parts yourself and find a mechanic, you'll save more. Everyone marks up parts and charges pick up/delivery fees. Good luck..

Check Freon level, if full might be the compressor clutch or the wire, mine was the wire that goes from compressor to clutch or sensor according to this video, I thought it was connected to the compressor and is a sensor, check that wire too.
