The ISS orbits at about 400 km height and the edge of outer space is usually placed at 100 km, the Karman line. So it's well above that. The atmosphere doesn't have a hard boundary.
Damn, you had that thing locked in. I did this the other day! All I could manage was a scratchy signal ..( I did get the image with some static in it.) Was my very first time with sstv from the space station. .. I used the Robot36 app on my phone, and my anytone dual band radio and a comet x30 antenna. Got your video going while I put together a gaming pc.
Locked in on that signal! This was my first time getting a good copy. I tried the night before I filmed this video at my front porch and got half static. Going outdoors to big sky and having a good VFO to compensate for Doppler shift made a big difference! Still have to decode what my FT5 picked up in the background with the roll up J pole in the tree. Downlinking SSTV from the space station is so fun and never gets old!
I used to like. Doing SSTV from the ISS. Always did it from my shack live. Never got super good images. I didn’t even know they were doing an event. 73!
Thanks Jeff! I just follow ARISS intl on Instagram and there happened to be a really good pass on my evening off work so had to give this a go. Last years copy weren’t great images but wow what an improvement this time! 73 dude 🤘
you know that the ISS in not in space, right? it's in low Earth orbit (LEO) which is still in earth atmosphere which in fact not space just an FYI
Thank you so much for your divine influence mister
As is he isn't aware of this lol. . . Thanks Mr. Obvious. .
Then why it's called the international SPACE station then?

عمل جيد زميل مشغل الراديو. وأنا أيضًا أقدر استخدام موجات الأثير للتواصل
Thanks for watching, Abdul! Playing with radio waves is a lot of fun especially from the space station!
Hoosier punks unite!!!!
✊
Be careful! Satellite SSTV can be habit forming!
Lol thanks Paul!
i didn't hear or get anything the other day listening with my HT with a 67 degree overhead pass 5 or so minutes.
