Hey Glenn, would you happen to know how to adjust the high idle speed on this JD L110? Low idle speed is set but the high idle speed is about 2800-2900rpms, manual states for a little bit higher
So the governor is in 100% control of engine speed with a linkage stop mechanically setting the idle speed. For high speed, there is no mechanical stop. There is a linkage from the govener arm and a spring. Remember, without the governor, the engine will wind up to the max. That linkage has a bend in it. You can adjust the max speed by bending that bend a little more, shotening that linkage. Adjust a little at a time as to not over rev the engine. Love these Kohler engines... Hope this helps. Glenn
@killaman7592 yes... make it slightly shorter. The govenor still has control and there are no adjustments, just the length of the govenor rod that connects to the carb. It may only make a small difference, but you only need a small increase. Let me know how you make out.
correct me if im wrong but isn't the Kohler " Courage". the biggest POS ever made ? I had a few they have lots of issues , is the Command better ? just picked up the same mower to flip
I, too, have heard that. However, I have always had the command engine, and I really like them. The 17 to 19 hp briggs is a bigger POS with their failing compression release.
Totally agree I still have one of these close to 1000 hard to beat that Kohler Command, still gets the job done✔️💯💪🏽
Good video & shows how a few changes here and there takes a junker into a cutting machine. Nice work.
Good buy !!
I have one of those beautiful car.

So I'm bending the rod that runs from the governor to the carburetor?
