Cell count doesn't actually determine power... it helps with heat. You can make the same power off 1s it would just need 6x the current (excluding inefficiency) to make it. Reality is that all that current draw will heat everything up far more which means you are losing power to heat generation and need more than 6x current. Then there is the electronics and there ability to handle the current and heat. So it's just easier to make power with more voltage. This is why Tesla is still kicking ass on a 400 volt system vs 800 volt systems being out. The 800 volt will be more efficient at the electronics (not at the motor though due to resistance being higher offsetting current. A high volt system needs a high resistance motor to turn the same rpm as a low volt low resistance motor though there are ways to have lower resistance while not increasing the kv rating). ... So, 4s vs 6s isn't going to be much of a power difference if any so long as the gearing is for the same "potential" speed. That is to say, the 4s system is geared higher to match the same unloaded wheel speed as the 6s system. Then the 6s will just be more efficient and safer for the electronics all else equal.
6S is going to give a good bit more torque (assuming you swap out the motor with the bigger Traxxas 6S 2200 kV motor). Acceleration will improve but top speed will not, as you say, since the gear ratio does not change and the max RPM of the 6S motor is lower.
@@nvl2691 that’s why I said the wheel speed is matched and the resistance of the motor changes. Higher voltage typically of companies a higher resistance motor. So actually it doesn’t produce more torque. Just like my example of the 400v Tesla vs 800v cars. There is far more to power and torque delivery than voltage.

I would buy the new maxx. I have a v1 widemaxx and an E-revo 2.0. I love them both, but I use the maxx more often. And this version is even better than mine. The E-revo has a lot of electronic issues. I replaced every electronic besides the receiver within one month of owning it. Plus, It tends to run hot and you need to give it breaks to cool off. Hello. Thank you for your video. The place is so beautiful and your comparison useful. I own a e-revo 2.0 and a Stampede 4x4 VXL. Do you think it is worthy buying a Wide MAXX ? Even if it belongs to a lower category, I kind have more fun driving my Stampede that is lighter and harder to drive.
If they phase out the old chassis like they did with the Rustler 4x4, I feel bad for anyone with the original that busts a chassis, or even loses or breaks a battery hold down. Unlike with the Rustler 4x4, converting the original Maxx won't be cheap since you'll need a new body too. Get those spares while you still can, boys!

✌🏻😎🏴USA usually gets everything before us which includes Armma vehicles so I don’t think people should complain when we actually get something before anyone else. Like you say, what’s important is that WE ALL get a chance to have fun with the same rc vehicles as soon as possible. It would be nice if it was all on rotation & we could all take turns in getting the 1st batch of new RC’s but I can’t see that ever being the case. To be honest your USA delivery was probably sent out 1st & then our delivery. Then we probably had it 1st because I hear a lot of delivery’s into USA are stuck in ports & customs. I’m guessing we just got ours through customs quicker than you did. All you should be thinking about is… “Am I going to buy it? What colour should I get? & can I pre order one ready for when they finally come to my location? But in marks case he needs 1 of every colour & usually starts with 2 RC’s 😂.
Man if only Mark had a T-Maxx I would ask what the size comparison was to the new Maxx. I want an alternative to the T-maxx but something electric and have been leaning towards the E-revo but the new maxi has my attention
Nice review Mark. I think it’s time for me to buy the V2 Maxx. I didn’t love the V1 out the box when I saw it so opted out. This one comes wider with better tires. And it’s a bit longer. My Xmaxx is too big a lot of times for bashing in the spots I go so I might sell it and keep the lipos and get the V2 Maxx. It should be a perfect size. I’m hoping for a Erevo 2.0 update. Call it a Erevo 3.0. My idea for that if I were in charge, convert to single Xmaxx sized servo, remove the rear link and go with like a true track setup, build in some sort of suspension stops so the shocks don’t get over worked
If you guys don't want to spend 110 buck on new maxx steel shafts you can custom fit old revo and e revo palstic shafts to fit you wide maxx, thats what I run, just dont let the screws back out to far on the swingarms or it will bind up your shafts and break them. think there 10 or 12 bucks each.

They’ve sold so many v1’s I can’t see them fazing out all the bodies, maybe the painted ones eventually.
Does the erevo body fit on the maxx v2
Looks fun! I wish they used a bigger motor on this version but it doesn’t appear to lack power as-is.
Please compare it to the Hoss
No comparison. Maxx all the way. Hoss is just a mash up of old stuff it basically like a monster slash stunt truck. Maxx blows it out the water on durability for sure.
@@johnnycash7803 not sure if you have a Hoss personally but apart from driveshafts it is a beast I have a maxx v1 and it can’t do half the jumps the hoss can .
are there other cars besides Traxxas ?
What are your crocks
Insulated and hideous.
Sweeet drive bro!
I’ll have one please…👍🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Really nice cars
Man if only Mark had a T-Maxx I would ask what the size comparison was to the new Maxx. I want an alternative to the T-maxx but something electric and have been leaning towards the E-revo but the new maxi has my attention
I can make that happen for you man i have the new maxx, the emax 3903 and a tmaxx 3.3 send me your email if you want it
Nice review Mark.
When can we get them
Already available in the UK @ £599.

Anyone know where I can get a dust cover that fits Maxx v2?
I have a 4 cell 6000mah Gens Ace that fits in the battery tray with room to spare. It's going because hes using a hard case that his doesn't fit
Traxxas should also sell rollers so u can put ur own system I might just get one unless aroma responds to these one in a roller
