Norm MacDonald was the greatest of all time. Sam takes it a step further in some of what he does, and his in-person delivery is second-to-none. I always loved how Norm wrapped his material in vintage-sounding mannerisms that make his stories sound innocent enough at first. Honestly to pick it apart is to strip it of its glory so I'll stop there.
Come on now, Sam isn't even a comedian, he's more of a performer. I mean his favorite thing to do is break shit, so with his heavy use of props, it might be better comparing him to Carrot Top...Norm is in a league Sam will never get close to touching...let's stay reasonable here.

Norm MacDonald Live is the best comedic media I have ever watched. I can't think of anything that tops it,. His older stuff isn't the same for me because it's before my time, but even the jokes he did then were so unique and there was never anybody like him. There still isn't, and I honestly doubt there ever will be, the closest I can think of would be Mark Normand but even his comedy isn't realistically comparable to Norms. It's a damn shame we lost him.
He has numerous quotes on the subject that help to reveal his inner thoughts.
