Mad to think this wasn't even the heyday/glory years of GC, for me, that was 98-99-00. Different era of extreme excess, you probably still get the lunatic fringe in the clubbing world today- but back then for a while at the end of the 90s getting absolutely blitzed on drugs all weekend became the cultural norm in the media- and this place was arguably the epicentre of that. I remember in 99 you would have a thousand people queing outside when it was full, and 20 coaches from across the UK bringing people in, students would go to Sheffield uni just to go to this place, Hallam even had the GC logo on their prospectus!
Nah. Clubs are dead when it comes to excess now. You just don't someone who has had 12 pills, not do you see a group where EVERY member is fully offit. Shitty powder nowadays and posers.
I envy all who got to go to these events at this iconic location, I never made it before it burnt down due to not finding the right crowd who loved the same tunes until it was too late, but still great to find good friends with great taste was the silver lining out of it all!
I first saw him at Cream in 1996 and must have seen him over 30 times during the next 8 years, from sets at Godskitchens B'ham Friday nights, finishing off 2 Gods Global Gatherings with Fergie (03 and 04), his Judgement Sunday residency @ Eden to that epic final 3 hours Tiesto and he played at Gatecrashers 'Discotech Generation showcase at the Nec Arena complex. Yes, I preferred other DJ's, Mauro Picotto's 6 hour effort at The Republic being even better than the PVD night I went to in 2000 but not once did I ever see Jules play a bad set/ Can;t say that for Tiesto, who was crap the last time I saw him (before PVD @ Cream Ibiza's closing party in 2004) despite all of the amazing sets I had seen him play in the UK during the previous 5 years. Judge never budged once for me man and by 1998 it was all commercial with respect to the 'product'.
Hello, we're making a documentary about Sheffield in the 2000's and we're looking for footage of Gatecrasher. We'd love to use this! Do you own this footage? If so, I'd love to explore doing a deal with you on it. Please do feel free to reach out - I'm on helensarahspooner @gmail.com - thanks
A time in history never to be repeated... The drugs just don't work like this anymore.

I agree. 98-2000 was definitely the golden era.
I was there almost every week without fail. Last time being early 2000.

this 2001 video is great to reminisce but couldn’t agree more about 98/99/00 been the best years!! just need a time machine now 😂

I used to watch Rapture TV on satellite back in the day. It was good to watch at home on the weekends while getting pissed.
Great times, great footage, I was there😊
21:33 Now there's an Insomz wiggle if ever I saw one! That takes me back.
Judge won’t budge ever
Thanks for putting this on
Gutted I never got to experience gate crashed in all its majesty. I'm just a few years too you (would've been 15 in 2001).
It was so good even bjork turned up.
Probably the best set ever done
Calm down, lad.
Played some huuuuge tunes towards the end!!
Agree, 52:00 - MIKE - Sunrise at Palamos
58:00 - Push - Strange World (2000 Mix)

PVD six hour sets were where it was at. Jules was a bit too commercial for my liking.
