Chris, My dog was walking a few feet in front of me and a snake about 4’ in length came out of a small bush about 20’ feet away. No rattling! It moved rapidly and it bit my dog on its hind leg. The snake went rapidly back to the bush. I looked at my dog and sure enough to puncture wounds. I went closer a few feet away from the bush and saw 2 snakes intertwined. I first thought they were mating, but they were very aggressive. I drew my hand gun and fired a round into the bush. They separated and both went down different gopher holes. The one that attacked my dog was half way down the hole as I shot it in the middle of its back. About 12 rattles and an evenly spaced black and white tail. Indicating it was a Western Diamondback. The other snake was longer with no rattles and probably what’s referred to as a Bull Snake. I rushed my dog to the vet and he recovered. A $2000 expense. They don’t always rattle.

Murder spaghurdher.
I'm glad we got through this without a strike because I don't think my heart could've took it.
Hell I would be pissed too if i was minding my own taking a nap and someone woke me up for no particular reason!
Hell yea I'm with ya if I was that snake I would have popped dude for waking me.
Damn straight! In boot camp one of my Drill Instructors who did 3 tours in Nam slept with a loaded a cocked 45 under his pillow. Needless to say if you.needed him to wake it was not by entering his room.
Damn rt!!!😂😂😂
But all we did was stare at him and presence alone would wake him
Lmao all he did was stare at him. You acting like he kept poking the damn snake
Rattles are good. They provide a very clear warning to keep you from getting bitten.
Must be an older one to be sleeping so soundly like that. Never imagined snakes sleeping.
He was about to molt.
I absolutely love snakes. They're so misunderstood, feared, and wrongfully reviled. My dad used to have a 13.5 foot female red-tailed boa constrictor named Cleo (I think after Cleopatra). The only word he ever used to describe her (even as she got older and more aggressive due to being handled so much) was sweetheart. He loved that snake. Unfortunately he left her with a friend to watch her while he was gone and the friend sold her. This was 21 years ago when I was 2. Cleo used to sneak out of her cage at night and curl up in bed between my mom and dad for warmth. Strangely my mom was never afraid of her, although she does have pretty bad arachnophobia.
Sorry what there is more to the story then that his friend just sold her? Did your dad seek reimbursement i wud have just beat the guy so please wats the rest of the story
@@samrowe2889 I don't remember. My dad is in prison so I can't ask him.
@@samrowe2889No, they're RIGHTLY misunderstood.
If not, how do u explain this?

Gotta love Rattlesnakes they’re magnificent creatures
Anyone else turning their head and holding phone away from face.
LOL yes! 🙋
I low the volume then put it near my face lol
@@shanefly4000 I work out in the outline areas in the desert and run into Rattlesnakes sometimes so I have almost stepped on one and it did the same thing as this one on video and scares the crap out of you.
Lee Nix me LOL
Thought I wake up pissed off. Dude needs coffee.
Or a snickers bar
Or a Red Bull so it can have its wings
I’d say a Snicker. I don’t wanna see this danger noodle on caffeine
coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc because he don't give eeffoc until he's had his coffee!
Diamondback Rattlesnakes are always angry. And always ready to defend or attack. They only live to survive, eat , reproduce and attack. No emotion or bonding at all. Really an interesting species of snake. And if they get the chance to sink their fangs into and deliver a good dose of venom your gonna lose a limb. Or maybe die. Just leave them alone. They want no interactions with humans. They hate us.
0:48 sounds like a dragon roaring when he wakes up.
Fake sound added.
Mijagi1976 fake comment added ^
Sounds more like a crowd of bees 🐝
@youtube mods are nazis I sleep in a cave kiddo.
@@nebojsa1976 Thats not fake, snakes, especially large venomous ones let out what sounds kinda like a hiss as a warning.
From the looks of the rattlers, it seems to be 14 1/2 years old.
That scared the living shit out of me LOL
Dee Devlin me fuckin too
As it should...

I don't think ive ever heard a snake rattle so frantically before lol.
Dude i Have Ran into One Bigger than that in Person!!! And it takes Your Level Of Fright 2 A Whole Another Level,,, I Ran and that Big Motherfucker didn't Wanna Stop Rattling😨😵!!!
Carl Manuel I must have a special scent or something. I walk by rattlesnakes all the time at my parents house and they don’t even give me a second look.
@@foolspeedahead do you live somewhere where there's a lot of people? Overtime those snakes might've gotten used to humans. Where I used to live you saw them before you ever heard them, and with rattlers it's supposed to be the opposite. I think they got used to the previous owners who had kids that played in the creak all the time because those kids were taught how to handle a snake without having to downright run away. Our snakes only rattled if you got right up on their den or if you were about to step on one on the rocks. Otherwise they learned that seeing humans didn't mean humans were going to hurt them.
Plasma Snow 2nd account I only encounter them at my parents house. It’s a very remote part of California, so not too many people or homes.
you'd be scared too if a sudden giant's face was in leaning towards you as soon as you woke up.
Quite possibly one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Thank you.
What’s beautiful about it? Kill the fucking thing before it bites your kid.
Looks like a good time to blow his head off
You obviously haven't been to Vegas on ecstasy
That's a stretch don't you think?

Wow ... dumb comment from a dumb little princess.
Idk why, but I imagined him saying “en garde!” when he woke up
1st time a video jump scared me in a LONG TIME! Omg!
I’ve never seen a snake even sleep wtf. That pose and reaction time was godly tho
Snakes don't seem to have eyelids like we do. My snake seems to sleep with his eyes open, and uses the same pose as that rattler if woken suddenly.
Amazing how it blends into the ground so well!
I love wildlife. I just started to see these regularly after living in AZ for 11 years. I now see them almost weekly on one of the trails I run. They are just beautiful creatures.
I read that snakes try to conserve their venom and not use it unless needed.
I do the same thing when someone wakes me suddenly.
Snake was dreaming about a snake orgy and you woke him up out of a good dream.. I would be mad too
How do you know that?
@@dannilaser16 it was SARCASM and joking!!!! I can't believe the gullibility of people online!!!
tall32guy oh, okay thanks. Kinda wasn’t sure.

Wow rattlesnakes are honestly the BEST SNAKES IN THE WORLD. They are so considerate and try to warn you first before anything else.
Anyone else shit themselves or was that just me?
Anthony Gomez Well, if you're the only one around and you smell something, it's probably you.
No but I did clinch my cheeks real tight
Just you my friend.
Shitting Yourself Just Watching That Dumb Fuck Spook A Diamondback Rattler?
Is There Something You're Not Telling Us, @LittleAnthony 🙄
Me to bro
Talk about a jump scare , I accidentally hurled my phone across the living room.

Wow what a beautiful creature. See them here in Florida off and on. They always let you know to keep your distance. I never bother them because they are always alerting me to there presence. Nice video...Thank you
I have many videos where they dont even rattle.
@@TheDesertWhisperer thats because they dont feel you are encroaching enough to notice them. rattling could also blow their cover to animals that dont care
Didn't know rattlesnake sleep so soundly. Fast reflexes too.
I’m a little grumpy too when someone wakes me up…this snake was ready for a fight in just the blink of an eye I’m amazed how fast he went from sleep mode to fight mode in under 1 second….WOW 😳 you were lucky you got a warning he was ready to take you out
See he don't want no problems. He's telling you he's there and you don't need to be.
Thats a public property 😂

That wind sound effect it did as it stood up made this shit even more terrifying
Why you don't piss off or scare dangerous wild animals that know they can easily fuck you up.
Yeah, that was horrid!
I'm pretty sure that's the snake inflating itself to look bigger. They do that in addition to rattling.
When the rattlesnake woke up so did I...I'm wide awake now! 👀
:-D
JEZZZZZZUSSSSS…yep he was proper pissed off!!! 😬That’s me at 4am on a freezing cold winters morning when my alarm goes off for work…and i’m late!!! 😂gorgeous looking rattler though 💖
Seriously the most awesome sound I’ve ever heard
I'm surprised it slept threw the vibrations of the camera person walking up but absolutely beautiful to see thank you who ever filmed this
Rattlesnakes have saved my life many times, by letting me know I need to back off.
Fun Fact: Rattlesnakes never chase you, this is a story from guys that wet themselves while running away. Really, you can stand there & look at them for as long as you want. Don't get close, don't try to pick them up. You're safe.
You startled him and he felt he had to protect himself. Good thing it didn’t end badly for either of you.
It wouldn't have ended badly because I wasn't close to him. Only the camera.
@@TheDesertWhisperer Gotcha. Glad you protected him and also yourself.

Indeed he would! He also probably would of tried to pick it up knowing how he was. RIP Steve. Miss you! (What's funny is, Robert, Steves son is legit the spitting image of Steve and is following his footsteps.)
HOLY CRAP!!!! Never seen a snake do that stance. That was AWESOME!
That is one of the most intimidating sights to see rising up and hissing.
