If there is Mammootty, it is because of him Malayalees accepting this movie. Otherwise nobody know a movie like this. But when a Superstar like him accepting this type of role, it making the movie more popular and into a discussion. From his beginning he is taking experimental and challenging roles like this. Now Mohanlal is coming with such experimental movies no one want it , no one accept it and those movies become failures. In Mammootty case those movies becoming hits and getting acceptance from the audience. It is because they are not expecting only one thing. They know he is the man always give every thing and feed them with a bunch of genres from 80’s to till now. From the starting there was loss. But now it is his league.

Just to add here. People who have been following Mammootty's craft clearly understand and know the kind of choices he has been making as an actor. Be it Vidhayan, Sooryamanasam, Thaniyavarthanam, Paleri Manikyam. These are just some of them which I am naming. No actor or superstar has done the variety of roles he has portrayed. If he is ruling the industry today, it is because of his sheer hardwork and love for the craft.
He is not a born actor but over these years he has found his way of acting which I feel is the best way to evolve. At 72, if he is the talk of the town, that is because of his hardwork he has been putting over these years. Be it giving chance to the new directors or working with a new crew, he is all in which is why his shell life in the industry is not diminishing. He will rule for another 15 years with the kind of cinema he is being part of.

Mamottys award type of fIlms only got successful post covid earlier his award films where also flops.
Peranbu was a loss for distubator , then ore kadal ,Danny , munariyapu and even pranjyettan where not thetare hits . Now mohanlal had theatrical hits which where also awaed films like thanmatra , bramaram , spirit etc etc .then as far malaikotta valiban is concerned it was marketed wrongly by the crew that it will be out and out of mass film Aldi the executi8was done in typical ljp style with so much if complexity .But it was not so that misunderstanding led to the failure .
Marketing matters . Bramayugam Rorschach nanpakal where never marketed as mass films..
Also kathal is nothing sort of experimental . Mamotty never fit properly into the role of a homosexual person.

Kamal is not as good as Mammootty or Mohanlal. He tends to go overboard at times and he has to be in every scene of the movie. Great actor but compared to other two legends very few India comes close. Kamal is probably the only one who comes close to both of them

@@cineenthusiast1234 so? every actor has limitations. I was talking about in comparison about the big three actors in Indian cinema. I am not saying Kamal is bad or lal is perfect. I said in comparison when you in depth the range of acting with Mohanlal and Mammootty is above Kamal hassan. Not cos he doesnt have talent lesser than them. The writing in movies outside of Malayalam films tends to overdo it and become overacting at times and there is also Kamals tendency to be in spotlight in every scene which overshadows the story and other characters. In mass films i understand all three are superstars and big egos. But when it comes other films Lal and Mammootty has better films and better range

The reason why his career isnt making the noise like how Mammootty's is because Mohanlal as we all know tends to work only in his known circles. Its different for a new age director to get to Mohanlal because people like Anthony Perumbavoor listen and approve the script first. (once Mohanlal's driver and now Aashirwad Cinemas binami). Maybe now Mohanlal is kind of insecure about his position is why he finally gave a nod to Tharun Murthy. I doubt if it was not bankrolled by Rejaputra; Tharun wouldnt have reached till Mohanlal. Sad to see this coming from an actor like Mohanlal. I seriously wish he understands who can be a true guide and makes him take his own decisions which seems to be lacking most of the times. Else he wouldnt be part of movies like Alexander the Great, Alone, Cassanova to name a few. I seriously feel directors like Ranjith, Blessy etc. bring the best out of Mohanlal. He needs a good director to do justice to his talent.
