They were so good possibly the greatest band of 77 to early 80's they played and toured far too much as the clash the same as all great bands it becomes a marriage then they hate each other an then the ugly divorce but I've always loved his art he always had an odd eye the way he saw and see's things. One of the hidden greats they all were in there own way topper a brilliant classic trained percussionist and drummer mick great on the guitar and Joe poet song writer in all the best

Kudos for a deep focus on the great bassist & painter Paul Simonon. But who designed this terribly constricted AI voice-over? Pronounce Mr Simonon's name correctly: it's "Simm'", not "Sime", you bloody blinkered robot. Mr Simonon also did some pretty risky undercover work for Greenpeace, he's a right proper geezer.
Paul Simonon was always a great gentleman. Why would you trash him with that lousy intro ? Anyone in world would glady sit and have dinner with the bass player of the legendary Clash !
Paul Simonon is the coolest bassplayer imo. He has the attitude needed for bass. He holds his bass at an extraordinary unergonomic height. Right along his kneecaps. Matched only by Ben Shepperd from soundgarden. Also he sings guns of brixton.
@@hughzapretti-boyden9187 Sure, he wrote it. And when they played it live, Joe Strummer had to play the bass, because Simonon couldn't sing while he was playing the bassriff. I didn't claim that paul simonon invented low hanging instrument. Neither did Dee Dee though. For example jimmy page was doing it waaaay before Dee Dee. Did Dee Dee Steal it from Page? Yes the Clash was one icon of Punk Rock, they where great, thanks for the comment

Interesting stuff. Is there a list of the songs used in the background of the documentary?
Hello Daniel, it's mostly the clash and Havana AM music, thanks
Jesus, this 'voice over' guy's pronunciation is a joke...Or is it another robot.
Thanks for the comment
I love Kraftwerk.
AI Robot. And a bad one.
It might be a good idea to get a voice over person (?) who can actually pronounce the name of the subject of the documentary
Yes, thanks for the comment
I really didn't know🎉paul formed a group musical
Thanks for the comment! Yes, he was a famous bass player in many bands! He still plays!
why show a Pixies photo when introducing Havana 3am?
It was a mistake, thanks for the warning

Thanks, for the comment we are working on the voice overs....
The picture at 9.53 is The Pixies.
Random!
That background music needs to go.
Unfortunately, the selection of copyright free available music is pretty limited. Thanks for the comment! Hope you liked it :)
oh it's pronounced as the name Simon". I thought it was as in "simple"
Yep! Simonon it is! :)

Before Paul the bass player was the boring bloke at the back he made bass playing seem cool.
Yes that's very true...
This is the only time I have heard his name pronounced as Symer-non. I have only heard it as Simmernon. I wonder which one is right?
Correct
Phonics
Well given that 'bass' is being pronounced like the fish, I'm guessing the AI commentary is wrong 😀
@@jonathansteadman7935 I chose the wrong word? I am always doing that, sometimes I use the word pedant when what I should say is nobhead.

I once caught a bass on my line. Pretty big one too.
Really, great!

How do you think we could improve the intro?

Yeah, I agree!
He stole the pose from Dee Dee Ramone & sings Guns of Brixton because he wrote it!😂

This AI voice is frankly disappointing. As Charlie would say .. ' good grief ' . Sad because what a band !
