  • Anorectal disease refers to the ailments of the anus and rectum. The most common conditions include hemorrhoids (piles), fissures, and fistulas. Piles are swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum or anus. An anal fissure is a small tear in the thin, moist tissue that lines the anus. An anal fistula is a small tunnel that develops between the end of the bowel and the skin near the anus.
