Steve, I must say that the most impressive part of your videos is how incredibly patient and professional you are at all times during the rebuild. Kudos and looks fantastic.
dude i seriously admire you for this rebuild. i dont think i could ever put so much time and effort into my system. but then again i know how much pride you take in your tahoe. so i honestly dont blame you a bit for any of this. great job the whole way through man.
Awesome work man. I love watching videos like this because the sanding goes by in like 2 seconds instead of how long (and tedious) it takes when you are having to do it.
a shitload of thanks to you meade,i got so many hints and tips from your clips,(oh shit,it rhymed) that ive gone and i rebuilded my entire soundsystem to my car,and probably saved a load of money by doing it myself, using pretty much the same techniques you use.maybe the outcome is not as professional as yours, but still,im enjoying the sound and the look, thanks again dude, keep up the good work
Hey man i have been fabricating shit for decades fender wells, front ends, tails etc. Even built kit cars from the frame up and THIS is TOTALLY AWESOME, Top drawer professional looking - all that!
a wise man once told me: "if your gonna fiberglass, wear clothes you never want to wear again" steve has just illustrated that for us. badass work! cant wait to see em wrapped.
Fiberglassin' is fun! Just wanted to tell you that I think your work is awesome, the soundsystems you build is insane, skullcrackin' bass is the way I love it! Hehe, I got to get registered on your forum now! Keep up with the good work man. Best wishes, Victor from Sweden.
wow those do look good and they seem to sound real good as well! cant wait to fiberglass some a-pillars myself.... see if i can maybe pull off a nice job like you have.
Cool that you took the time to share this kickass build , shame about the music, but lots of great useful stuff there . Thanks again. The end result looks pretty serious!
Hey Steve great job. i love watching all of your vids and new ones that comes out. the best one so far i loved was that german sub that you tested when you stood on it. that was insane. but again thanks for a great video, i have learned a lot from you, Mark @ Car Audio Fabrication and Exo Exo contralto. you guys have given me more to look forward to do more projects on my 85 Isuzu. there are many that i have to build from scratch and then follow your vids. Great Job Steve.
Stve you do some amazing work if i had half your skill it would be sick keep up the good work man. Im thinking of getting a spare set of door panels to try my hand at this too in my yukon
I was really impressed when watching this take shape. I'd love to try it, but I don't quite have the juevos to start hacking at my door panels, but now that I bought a little cheap 2nd work truck, I may have to try this. as soon as you showed it from the inside with the door closed, that thing looked like factory or aftermarket panels you'd pay out the ass for. very impressed, keep it up!
how bout, because i WANTED TOO LOL. I was going somewhere and i wanted them to be ONE color, plus primer shows imperfections a little easier . Any other questions or suggestions?
@Bob Jones Ok i LITERALLY stopped reading after your first sentence. I told you NOT to sound foolish or silly. You apparently do not know anything about car audio. PLEASE educate yourself before ever posting here again. I will help educate you real quick. The kick panels are the BEST location in the car for your mids/highs. There, you learned something today. Placing the speakers near your "head level" is the WORST place you can put them. Sorry to tell you that.
dude this is like the 8th time ive watched this playlist and every time i do i go and take my car apart, then realize, i dont have ANY of the stuff i need to do this
Nice, thank you for showing us how to do stuff. I noticed you still have stock pedals, I think you should get some aftermarket pedals, Would make it look better to me and I think they would feel better when driving. Seems nice other than that but I can't really tell from the videos, it's a must see kinda thing!
@bob jones dumb fuck, call my work what you would like to call it.....but remember this, i did these doors almost 10 years ago and it's STILL getting in magazines and Television shows. You love my work you just don't like being told what time it is by someone who know's what they are doing. Eat it.
Does it make a big difference if the door speakers are in sealed enclosures rather then just leaving the back open like you have?? Im going to make fiberglass pods for my 6.5's but theres alot of air space in the door once the panels are on. Im afraid its going to mess with performance so i mite make a back to them so the speakers are sealed up.
Yo, Steve amazing build bro and amazing car... i have a question im looking to get door speakers for my truck and im looking at rockford fosgate speakers but idk what type to get (prime, punch, or power) which type would give a good clean sound that can handle being played load... btw the speakers are ganna be 6x9s and 6 1/2s.. thanks bro
that is freakin awesome. im thinkin of doin a similar thing but with only 1 or 2 speakers. roughly how much was all the resin and fiberglass and stuff? also how do the tweeters stay in? i couldnt see any screws or anythin?
hey good job. I started my door cards for a holden vs commodore and im just about to lay out the the fibreglass. its not as pro as yours, but it s strong.
hell of a job man, i just did 2 small pods and spent 2days sanding cant imagine a full door. good vid thanks. where did u get the bulk roll of glass and other supplies?
FIY for anyone thinking of connecting their sander to their shop vac - 25 feet of sump pump hose from the plumbing section of LOWES or HOME DEPOT = $10. Fits both the vacuum intake and the orbital sander discharge port. works just as well as Shop vac hose = $40 for 10 feet.
Your Awsome!!!! :D :D your videos are really helpfull cheers :-) just one question, what size is your orbital sander? as in the diameter of the sanding disc? thanks very much
how many more things you have to do finish this truck steve?? i see those kick panels in the bottom? and then didnt you say your going to get in some new 18's??
Maybe because it is easier to see if everything is smooth, and makes it easier to see if the both doorsides is symmetrical. And it actually makes it easier to TH-cam users to see the results. And also the best ground work allways leads to the best result, stop questioning the ways he work, he probably works the way he is comfortable with. Show us what modifications you have done that is so good without sanding then? Sorry for bad english // Victor from Sweden.
Mand these custom door pods came out so damn good! A lot of work tho, but I learned all the stuff I needed to know it was very helpful,ty bro
These videos inspired me to tackle my own doors Steve. You're an inspiration bro.

You are like the Chip Foose of the audio world. Nice work!

Damnnnn steve, nice job dude, those door panels look awesome, we´ll be waiting for the wrapping, good luck!!

a shitload of thanks to you meade,i got so many hints and tips from your clips,(oh shit,it rhymed) that ive gone and i rebuilded my entire soundsystem to my car,and probably saved a load of money by doing it myself, using pretty much the same techniques you use.maybe the outcome is not as professional as yours, but still,im enjoying the sound and the look, thanks again dude, keep up the good work

@sullivan106 because it still has to be clean underneith or it will show right through.
a wise man once told me: "if your gonna fiberglass, wear clothes you never want to wear again"
steve has just illustrated that for us.
badass work!
cant wait to see em wrapped.
god damn steve, the way you work is just fuckin flawless. You dont miss anything and it really shows. Those panels look sick
@porkchop976 you mean the "kitty hair"? its for strength and also to keep it from warping.
That right there my friend is beautiful. I love your web site and your builds keep up the good work
Fiberglassin' is fun!

Watched your Door Panel Videos about 5-6 times now! haha, Going to start on mine on the 13th. 3 6.5s Component sets going in each door.
dude you do the best work i have seen yet you are the man steve
wow those do look good and they seem to sound real good as well! cant wait to fiberglass some a-pillars myself.... see if i can maybe pull off a nice job like you have.

all just for beat, thats how we do haha
awesome vid steve
hells ya!!!
Cool that you took the time to share this kickass build , shame about the music, but lots of great useful stuff there . Thanks again. The end result looks pretty serious!
just using fleece is GENERIC. I would not trust my doors or anything else with just fleece. Fiberglass is a must if you want it to last.
finally fiberglassed!!! looks awesome!!!!

how bout, because i WANTED TOO LOL. I was going somewhere and i wanted them to be ONE color, plus primer shows imperfections a little easier . Any other questions or suggestions?

good job man i might have to steal that idea to use the tinfoil for my first fiberglass build witch hopefully will happen soon
dude this is like the 8th time ive watched this playlist and every time i do i go and take my car apart, then realize, i dont have ANY of the stuff i need to do this

Doors are so nice :P. Good work!
they are very nice man, good job
Very nice I have been waiting for this update :)
damn your going to have to put a supercharger on there just to get that truck to move with all them extra lbs. nice work steve
thanks everyone!!!!
Wonder if he is going to put speakers down in them kick panels too, i seen the blanks in there.
yes. Thats just my answer. You are free to NOT watch if you dont like it bro.
This is awesome! I am guessing that since you primed them that they are going to be painted. Are you going to paint up the rear ones too?
@bob jones dumb fuck, call my work what you would like to call it.....but remember this, i did these doors almost 10 years ago and it's STILL getting in magazines and Television shows. You love my work you just don't like being told what time it is by someone who know's what they are doing. Eat it.

Looks great!! The total finish is great to! How u get the panel to stay on there? Looks like the plastic clips would break from all that vibration.
awsome work man
Yo, Steve amazing build bro and amazing car... i have a question im looking to get door speakers for my truck and im looking at rockford fosgate speakers but idk what type to get (prime, punch, or power) which type would give a good clean sound that can handle being played load... btw the speakers are ganna be 6x9s and 6 1/2s.. thanks bro

rly good work man looks awsome
@superstevosupremo just until dry bro.
yeahhh nice work men this work is Excellent luxury doors are and good sound the rockford
are there going to be speakers in the kick panel as well?
Awesome, I noticed you had Q- forms in the kick panels, did you ever put anything in them?
Hey Steve - Why do you use the fleece rather than making your first layer fiberglass cloth? Just wondering.

Sorry for bad english // Victor from Sweden.
steve .. wot about the kick panels.. are they already in ?
