    Top tip: use a large plastic syringe (they sell as meat basting syringes on amazon & ebay) with a length of silicon hose attached for getting oil into hard to reach places like that. It has a scale on so also allows you to measure exactly how much you're putting in if necessary...

    I was told by my local Honda Dealer its the same oil as the engine. Handy vlog. Will do this myself.

    With the scoot on its center stand, remove the shock absorber bolt so the S.A. swings free. This will allow you free access to the top bolt. Use a small oil can w/pump to fill up to the check hole. No need to measure. That's why Honda put the check hole on it.

    Same principle on the separate oil reserve in an old style separate gearbox like on my Royal Enfield. Fill up until oil comes out of the 'overflow'. Replace the overflow bolt when oil stops draining out of that particular 'orifice' (great word). Nice one Eric.

      "Orifice" i love that word, wish i had thought of that word when i was doing the video

    Thanks, good enough!
    It is the same 3 bolts on the Honda Forza NSS300 scooter.
    Top = fill
    middle = check/over-flow
    bottom = drain.
    And yes, uses the same oil as in the motor > "HONDA HP4M 10W-30"
    A lot of scooters just have two bolts -fill and drain. You fill until it spills out the fill hole.
    Or, other scoots have 2 bolts for this > drain it, then fill with the very specific amount into the fill hole.
    But Honda uses 3!
    Cheers - ride safe.

      @@ivanparaggio4437 please look in your owner's manual, perhaps listed under, " capacities", or on sticker in your underseat bucket. Call 3 dealers. If all agree.....

    The Honda workshop manual for SH300 says to use 10w30 like the engine, FWIW.

      Hi Barrkel, what about SH150 2017? My owner manual doesn't specify any information about the type of gear oil

    id of thought since its not getting heated up to a motor running temp you would never need to changing the oil unless it had metal in it

      Best to change regularly cos oil is cheap gearboxes are expensive
      Change it regularly with the engine oil change ...I've seen scooters that have had to have work done on the gearing , it's not cheap work .
      Lol ...

    Similar to my old Piaggio Fly 100. The newer 125 Fly slightly different.
    Spoke to my garage about oil, and they swear by Putoline; they use it in all the bikes they service.
    Good speed and mpg on that Honda, if they had made it so it didn't look so flimsy and like it should have a basket on the front, I think it would have more appeal

    Somehow i think you are mistaken? i am pretty definite the final drive needs a gear oil in it! NOT engine oil! it is not in any way connected to the engine (lubricant speaking) i might be wrong but i have never heard any manufacturer using engine oil for gears. why would they when they can use gear oil since it's separate from the engine?

    It's so my rare wheel just locked up on my SH 300 I think this is the issue I don't think the previous owner put in any oil while riding or while owning the bike ever so oh it has jammed on me and I am thinking if is this the problem and if put pil in will it unjam itself

    THANKS FOR INFO, WILL BEAR IN MIND WHEN THE TIME COMES. BUT NOW I HAVE TO FIND OUT WHERE THE ENGINE OIL FILTER IS AND HOW TO REMOVE THE FRONT COVER WITHOUT DAMAGING IT TO TAP INTO THE INDICATOR LAMP CABLES TO INSTALL A BLEEPER SO I DONT FORGET TO SWITCH OFF TURN SIGNALS.

      Hi there, had a few 125 bikes 4 in my time, and they are great for towns, but once your out of town the need for more power and speed to stay out of the way of cars is apparent and this scooter is as fast as a 500cc motorbike I would say, its happy doing 80mph with the wife on the back with ease, and still 80mpg it will do well over 90mph, its just a great bit of kit, give it a test ride

      ericbusa I have passed my a1 license a few months ago so have to wait until age restrictions say I can take my a2 test but atlest I wont have my theory or cbt to do just do mod 1 and mod 2 again but on a bigger bike so its one for the future.

    Hello , your suggestion for the recommend oil is not correct. The oil show on video is an engine oil . You have to use 10W30 oil but for final trasmission ( same gradation but is another kind of oil ) I use Motul 10w30 TRANSOIL
