You could cornrow your hair and do a small leave just as you would a sew in. Just put the clip ins over your braids.

Yes, it was definitely a natural color. If I had to describe its in between a 1b and 2

No, clips won’t cause split ends. You should be taking these out nightly and still caring for your hair. Wrapping it and such, moisturizing, etc.
