    Congratulations on the tips presented.
You saved me and My Sovol SV06. The problem was the extruder fan. The tip provided hits the target.

Awesome video! I got my SV06 about 4 days ago so im keen on doing most of these upgrades! I managed to do a 24 hour print without any clogs but will definitely be upgrading the fan and ill see the difference first hand. Overall hapoy with my purchase of my first 3d printer

I have the sv06 and sv06 plus and love them both. And I am running klipper as well. I went with a pad 7 on my plus and a rasberry pi 3b and a screen on the sv06. I also have the upgraded 5015 fan upgrade. I do like them both now. I also have a kobra and a k1, and my favorite is the k1, but the sv06 Plus is my second favorite. Thanks for the video. I will look at doing the heatbreak fan mod as well. I have been lucky I guess as I have not had many clogs . I also print abs a lot on my sv06 and it works well with ABS. And yes an enclosure is needed.

thanks for the video! Before changing the fan, what temperature you were printing at when it clogged? Considering getting this printer.

  • @Brian-S

I think you might have a different issue if your hot end cooling fan is causing heat creep because I've been running the stock one for nearly 6 months now and have completed multiple 40 hours asa and abs prints. Actually haven't experienced a clog at all on my sv06.
Now the cooling fan is definitely worth while but I would highly suggest printing it in abs or asa or nylon. My first 2 petg fans melted. All you need to print higher temp filaments on the sv06 that require heated enclosure is throwing the printer in a cardboard box or something similar and you'll be fine. I've been running nothing but asa the last few weeks now.
I'm working on adding a linear rail and 1515 extrusion to the x axis to get rid of the rods and switch over to xol dragon burner with tap for the tool head. Still quite a bit of work yet to do with it though.
Another nice upgrade is changing the top bar to a piece of 2020 rather than the injection molding piece. It can help quite a bit to keep the frame square and keep the z towers plumb

Thanks for the video! I was wondering if you could elaborate on how you connected your filament run out sensor to the Mainboard, and how you implemented it in Klipper. I purchased the exact same switches and have soldered the wire to the switch, but I'm unsure of how to connect it to the board and make klipper recognize it. thanks!

I had a clog in mine because of heat creep and cleaned it out and then cleaned the heat break and the headsink hole where the heat break inserts into and then coated the heat break with slice engineering boron nitride paste and let it cure for a day and didn’t have issues again. But it’s still good to upgrade that really small fan also…..don’t know who even though it was a good idea in the first place…..

Congratulations for the channel, as an owner of SV06 I signed up immediately. My SV06 printer, among other problems, also has excessive play on the right lead screw, more or less at half height. This means that when I try to print objects taller than 75/80 millimeters, the extruder hits the piece and detaches it from the bed. I had thought about solving the problem by buying the anti backlash nut but the one I received from Uncle Bezos doesn't have the same thread pitch and doesn't fit. Can anyone tell me a link where I can buy them? Or do you recommend having the lead screw replaced under warranty? Any advice to solve the problem will be appreciated, thanks.

  • @Truth12345

Mainly upgrade all the fans... Grease your bearings. Level your bed with 0,1mm shims. Use cheap Chinese filament sensor. Print new z motor mounts and align them straight with tape. print a autorewind spool holder. I'm going to try z wings to improve print quality. Tip: Level your bed with the led on the inductive sensor

Something else to watch out for; the case fan for the motherboard is tied to the part cooling fan (at least it was on mine, don't know if they've fixed it!) so when printing ABS the motherboard fan stopped running!!
Suggest rewiring this fan directly to the motherboard power supply input terminals.

This video couldn’t have come at a better time, I just bought my first 3d printer, an SV06 about a week ago and I’m so far down the rabbit hole on trying to optimize this machine as much as possible.
I found your channel when researching printers, so it’s super nice to see such high quality content about the SV06 since everything else is very hit or miss.
Already installed Klipper on a Pi via Bassamanator’s GH repo/guide, ordered some 5015 fans, and a 0.6mm CHT nozzle for fast prototyping, and I even ordered a filament sensor (idk why I got the sensor, im never printing when I’m not there to monitor. It’s just so fun to trick out my machine!)
Now I’ll be to be scouring hardware stores in Berlin for all of the necessary M2/3/4/5 bolts/washers for all the cool parts I find on Printables. This hobby is so addicting!
On my wish list this December is a sensor to properly setup input shaping, and long term I’m excited to build a Lack enclosure. I’m not much of a maker, I just love to squeeze all of the performance out of this thing.
Thanks for the video Daniel! I’m really interested to know how I can print faster since my print time is so limited (apartment with thin walls, and a young child in the next room). Right now I can do a high quality 50 minute benchy using the Bassamanator Klipper config and Ellis slicer profiles, but I want to push it lower as soon as I install the 5015’s.

Good job on the video! My only question is, can the upgraded printer do carbon fiber, or is that something one would need the SV06 Plus for doing?

    • @Crosslink3D
      @Crosslink3D  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Printing Carbon fiber really depends on the composite material if it's carbon fiber PLA or ABS or Nylon. Carbon fiber PLA could technically be printed without an enclosure, the others not. And you should replace the nozzle with a hardened steel version, otherwise, the original brazz nozzle can wear out super fast (literally, it can be unuseable after one single print, depending on the material).
