Unfortunately, while this is true, voters aren't as concerned about his age as they are about Biden. Even though Trump has slurred his words and mixed up names and all that, voters have largely ignored that so far. The silver lining is that, in focus groups during the debate, undecided voters did say they really were turned off by what Trump had to say. So, sane people aren't flocking to Trump. Normally, if this say Mitt Romney or John McCain, there would have been a massive shift to them after a debate like that. But most people do not like Trump, which means there is hope for him to lose if Democrats can settle this issue about the ticket fast!
Guess what? Biden can easily be replaced at a convention. Stay with the Biden's and lose in November or pick another candidate and clean up.

I want a candidate I can have confidence in. Joe can't do it. I care about Joe, and I want him to step down with grace. Otherwise his legacy is holding onto power and losing to Trump in 2024.
Biden's ticket is based on character, values, experience, respect of the international community, an experienced VP, an extraordinary First Lady, and a qualified law abiding executive branch working hard for the people. The other guy's First Lady has disappeared, the decent supporting cast and executives don't support him, and the others are either disbarred or in jail. The policies and character of the President is reflected in the whole government. From my point of view, supporting the narrative of Biden's leaving the race leaving aside his character and bipartisan record is supporting a new monarchy under an unqualified leader which was already fired and rejected by voters.Too dangerous for the U.S. and the world. Regardless, if by any chance Biden leves office for any reason, no reason to worry. Kamala would still be there. Kamala has been preparing for the occasion fo 4 years and is also a better, alternative for the nation than Trump. So...there is no reason to create division and mention Kamala for this moment If I could vote I would stick to Biden.

Most other countries have campaign seasons that last maybe 60 days. The US eternal campaign season is designed to keep the two parties in power, because it requires hundreds of millions to run for national office.
I think it only looks chaotic because part of the discussion is “Failure isn’t an option.”
There’s a process for this situation, but it takes time and lots of earnest, honest conversations behind closed doors. Meanwhile, there’s Democrats out there dropping trial balloons and hints to the Administration in the press.

Several states have laws regarding ballots and when one can drop out. Wisconsin for example a name can only be taken off after the candidate dies or the 25th amendment is invoked.
