This is the album that I first heard all the way back in 2004. My family has been part of a Norse re-enactment group in upstate Ny and New England. My step mother bought this album for my father who then gave it to me because it really wasn’t his cup of tea. I devoured this album. Listened to it so much the songs are etched into my soul. Thanks for the memories! Much love brothers!

I listened to this so much in highschool. I was actually jared when the song ended and the beginning of Ragnarok didn't start playing because I've heard it so many times.
:D I remember that feeling, from my mixtapes when I was young. You expect songs in a specific sequence, for the rest of your life even.

The good old days, when my younger me was looking for agressive speed and monumental solos everywhere... Then I found this song and oh man, it slapped me in all my face like saying "you want speed? Well, hell no". Yes it has accelerations, but man, that slow tempo always gets me when I return to this song. Absolutely love it.
this song is just magical, one of my favorites, the voice, the guitars, the whole thing is as strong as if i were watching a medieval viking movie
I love this album! "Alive", "Rainbow Warrior",and "Eric the Red" are some of my favorites, but it is always very hard to choose a favorite with every song being almost perfect. Týr has such an amazing sound. This group has some fantastic musicians!

Was Eric the Red banned from an island because he killed a neighbor over disputing a fence?(forgive me I don't remember my source...)
Honestly the reason is told several different ways but according to the sagas he was banished for three years for murder after a dispute with his neighbour sparked a confrontation that resulted in several deaths
