- From the "Land" album (2008)
I uploaded this song because one of my friends asked me to do it, the song has been deleted, and I don't know why. I do not own this song. All rights go to Týr and their label.
Lyrics:
"Homeland we're leaving, we are retreiving
Our right to stand alone, we cannot stay here
Fear not what must be, we must cross the sea
On our own
standing alone
Always we got by on our own.
Under stormy skies through rain, wind and raging sea
Head into the Unknow, leave behind.
Bonds that may bind, circumstance that keep us behind
Rise to meet the day hold high torches passed throught time.
Fear not what you might find.
Roads are long and oceans far and wide
Nights are cold and skies are dark and gray
Ride the autumn wind and evening tide
Time is long and land is far away
Out on the sea
Waitng for me
Storms are raging violently
Still we sail on silently.
We seek to tame the torrents and tides
Master the Mights
Sail with me across the raging sea
Write your tale into eternity
Still we've sighted only sea till now
As we sail I sometimes wonder how
Rest in the twilight, I have gained insight
Since the deeds of younger days
Now I'm wiser, raise my eyes gaze across the sea
And recall when we sailed away
Sought a new way
How I longed for far far away
In the sun set glow
I dreamt of another Land
A thousand years from that day.
Cattle die
Kinsmen will die
I myself must die too someday
All are mortal men, but fair fame will never fade
For the man who wins it.
Ver sterk mín sál á mj[]rkantungu ferð
Har taettar fylkjast um teg gráar gátur
Tín barnaflokkur - úttaerdur hann er,
Og sárur kennist hans sólsvangi grátur
Ver stór mín sál í dagsins royndar stund
Holl veitir nátt hin dreymaleysa blund.
Roads are long and oceans far and wide
Nights are cold and skies are dark and gray
Ride the autumn wind and evening tide
Time is long and land is far away
Out on the sea

We seek to tame the torrents and tides
Master the Mights
Sail with me across the raging sea
Write your tale into eternity
Still we've sighted only sea till now
As we sail I sometimes wonder how far to Asgaard."
Týr is a perfect band, dude... Their music changes all lifes of those who listen to they. Hail Týr!!! XD
Agreed. HAIL!! \m/
10 years late but there is a new single for the new album coming out, Lucas. They still don't miss, Hail Tyr!
"Cattle die
Kinsmen will die
I myself must die too someday
All are mortal men
But fair fame will never fade
For the man who wins it"
Let the honor and glory that lies in the hearts of all warriors and explorers like Leif, Eric, Trondar, and others never fade
Into the Storm, Land, and Ocean are three of the most epic songs, a lot of songs out there about the norse sailing out to explore/raid and such are pretty much about how badass they were but these two songs really put it into perspective the giant leap they faced when they first sailed out to sea. Leaving their homes behind in search of new land not knowing if it would be their last voyage, and as well they wouldn't know what type of sea creatures could possibly exist out there that we take for granted knowing about. We know the sea life, but for all they know there was sea creatures the size of a mountain out in that sea
Take a look at "The Edge" by Týr, you wont regret it
This was the shortest 16 minutes of my life. I could literally listen to this for hours.
Tyr’s Best Song
this song helped inspire me to move away from the place i'd spent my whole life, and move far away to a place i'd never heard of. this song helped change my life. thanx TYR! (and tyr is just as good live as their studio albums)
So where did you go ?
I moved to the Bay Area, where i'd never been, to a town i'd never heard of, surrounded by strangers. just me and my dog. been here 11 years now, and never missed a TYR show.
I can't say it's something I'd be able to do.
the violin at the end really makes it damn
VIVA TÝR!!!
Que viva la mitología nórdica
Amazing song!
First time i heard this song i was unimpressed!
Second time i heard this song something stirred,
Third time i heard this song i realised that a metal masterpiece was in my ears!
TYR FOREVER \m/-_-\m/

Leggið nýggjar árar út,
tað flýtur ein snekkja
fyri hertogans garða,
hon er sær av alm-við og eikini harða,
leggið nýggjar árar út.
What a fantastic song just brilliant
It's a shame they don't play this live...
Epic, epic and may I say it again EPIC. An incredible piece of music.
what refreshing change for singer not scream and growl!!
In the end of the song there is the classical playing...... I NEED MORE.... WHY ISNT THERE MORE? THE SONG IS FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!
when the singing stops and the scream starts...
my god
Goosebumps, right? It's written by a famous Faroese poet named Janus Djurhuus.
I'm not gonna be one of those guys but there's something about the older, lower fidelity sound that I just love about this band that isn't on their new albums. That being said though nothing they have is bad.
Incrível!!!
this is the band that headlines at Ragnarok.
just so y'all know
Só mesmo TÚIR para compor uma música assim...
Sorry for being rude. I misplaced my land cd. Boohoo.
Thanks for the help dude. I did it. :D
Happy Leif Erikson Day!
You may want to write in the description "I do not own this song", otherwise TH-cam often remove songs due to potential copyright claims... Glad to have it back on TH-cam though :D :D
what does he say at 2:40?
(C) 1700ish J S Bach, but never mind that, still a great rendition :)
which Bach piece?
@@EliasCassab BWV 639 Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ.
@@bkr23 Vielen Dank! Du hast Recht, es klingt wirklich gleich
@@EliasCassab Bitte sehr! My German is very bad, but i am glad you hear the connection! I love Týr, but also the classical composers, so, herzlichen grüssen to you!
