Not only that but Rick actually dedicated The Sword of Summer to Cassandra Clare and asked her if he could use the name Magnus for his character before he wrote the book.

I think ı love this series even more than pjo. (You're still in my heart percy. Dont worry.)

I loved this book so much and was super excited to see Alex!!! She was such a refreshing character and I was so glad that her character while super amazing, didn't hinge on the fact that she was genderfluid and trans. Like even though she was amazing and I loved that, the reason she was so cool was because of who she was and her overall attitude and that was so important.
THE ENDING! I finished this book in the middle of the night and I still couldn't sleep after because THAT ENDING. Also, I really liked the God of Vengeance, Vidar, and how Sam and Alex got used to being siblings. And I ship Malex (Am I the only one who noticed how close this is to Malec?)

I'll be honest. I did not enjoy this book as much as the first book or as much as Rick's previous series. My main problem is with Alex being gender-fluid. I felt like Alex was only that for plot convenience because of the sword not being drawn in front of a woman. Alex being the child of Loki I can understand if Alex was just transgender but the fluid thing wasn't needed. Alex, when not being prissy about gender, was a cool character. Alex was snarky and funny at some points. With the amount of times I was sucked out of the story to be slapped across the face with social views, I got annoyed with the book. Magnus just felt like a mouth piece most of the time which annoyed me. My favourite moments was when we were learning about Hearth and what happened to him since we didn't get to know him too well in the first book. Seeing how his dad treated him, how his family treated him, seeing how he felt over the passing of his brother and seeing how the servant had that huge crush on Hearth. So many emotions. Favourite character is still Halfborn Gunderson. And I'm not a fan of the slight MagnusXAlex that was going on.

So since SPOILERS Percy is most likely in the next book who do you think is better a demigod or a einherjar? I mean yeah Percy would easily be the most powerful Demigod/not god in the next book but more "average demigod vs average einherjar"
