      @SpectZ-eu5zj 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Why are you mentioning purchasing power parity here? Purchasing power parity is effective for comparing the cost of low-value consumables because it accounts for price differences between countries for basic goods and services. However, it becomes less relevant for advanced technologies, which often involve high costs for research, development, and specialized components. Countries importing such technologies for local development may face additional challenges, as PPP does not reflect these complex factors, including the reliance on global markets, intellectual property, and skilled labor. Therefore, PPP is less accurate for assessing the true cost and accessibility of advanced technology.

      @krishnamurari-q2x 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@SpectZ-eu5zj bro then don't you think that buffed budget can be also be used to build infrastructure and talent. It cant be done in 1 fiscal year. but eventually we will need to do it sooner or later

    • @SpectZ-eu5zj
      @SpectZ-eu5zj 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@krishnamurari-q2x Of course, India might consider this later (likely once its GDP reaches a certain mark). The challenge is that properly utilizing the increased funds would require significant boosts not just to the defense budget, but also to the education budget over many years. Simply increasing the defense budget alone isn't the real solution. You also need to consider that much of India's top talent in science and technology leaves the country, making the situation even more challenging. Simply offering salaries comparable to those in developed nations isn’t the real fix if they don’t find the quality of life in India appealing.
      In short, the situation is more complex than it seems, and simply increasing the defense budget won’t have the expected impact. One of the key reasons the defense budget hasn’t grown significantly is the lack of infrastructure investment over decades, unlike China. India is now paying the price, forced to allocate over 20% of its funds to infrastructure alone, which naturally impacts its ability to invest in the defense sector. For comparison, the US spends no more than 1% of its central budget on infrastructure, benefiting from decades of focused investment in its infrastructure.

    Policies made by our "leaders" have been reactive in nature and with no long term vision for as long as I remember. This have been the case not just in defense sector but in all sectors. Our leaders failed to understand that without r&d and basic infrastructures, hi-tech stuff just dont drop out of the sky. Yes, its an risky investment but theres no other way, no country will share their latest technologies without any compromises or restrictions. Also, as we have seen in russia-ukraine war, modern war will be a war of attrition and relying on foreign countries will be a risky gamble. We have to be self-sufficient and build our own jets and engines but dont have even basic engine testing bed for that. If this attitude continues then we will continue to play catch-up while the rest of the world is steaming ahead.

      Not possible for now, so stop dreaming. 25% of India's annual expenditure (160 Billion Dollars ) going toward defense is unrealistic at the moment. As of now, India's defense spending accounts for about 13% of its total government expenditure, which is already a significant portion. The reality is that a large defense budget would limit the funds available for other crucial sectors like healthcare, education, infrastructure, and social welfare, leading to tough choices on priorities.
      While GDP reflects a country's overall economic output, it is the actual government expenditure that determines its spending power. Currently, India's total expenditure capacity is around $576 billion. Allocating $160 billion solely for defense would be impractical, unless the public is willing to accept significant cuts in other major sectors, which would be a pretty bad idea anyway.

    Bharat spends less than 1% on research. 0.64% of its GDP on R&D during 2020-21, as per Department of Science and Technology. Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) was around 2.7%, according to data published last month. In 2021, China spent 2.4% on R&D, according to World Bank data.
    An optimum number for R&D is triple the current amount. But the government need not foot the bill! In 2022, the private sector contributed, on average, 74% of OECD nations’ R&D spending and 66% of such funding for the 27 members of the European Union. So offer the same tax concessions for R&D other countries offer. The Nature Index Research Leaders 2024 released today shows the rapid progress Bharat has made in research output.
    The country is seeing a higher percentage growth in contributions to Index journals than China. If Bharat continues to beat the strongest adversary that will also translate into high
    tech advances like what China already has!

    No country will share their Crown Jewels like Jet Engine. It was stupid on part of HAL to pitch for export orders when HAL can’t meet IAF quantity order. Naturally Uncle Sam stopped Engine supply because Tejas will directly compete with F16 whose sales have already amortized the costs for the manufacturer Martin.
    Depending on one agency to develop that to lazy bums is supreme stupidity even Soviet Union had multiple agencies to develop aero engines the ideal way is to form a consortium of private industry with heavy capital infusion interest free and heavy tax subsidies once the product is accepted most important assured orders and payments in time be in written into MOU.

    Immediately buy F15 EX equivalent to number of aging Jaguar and MIG 29. Divert money from upgrading these aircrafts to buy F15EX. I think they have highest manufacturing rate. Rafale should set up factory in India with objective to manufacture aircraft with 5th generation technologies and ongoing upgradation. This will take 6 to 7 years. With F15EX buy 4 squardens of F35 varient.
    Build Tejas MK 1 with F404 and Kaveri engine. Tejas MK 2 with F414 engines and Kaveri high thrust engine. AMCA 5.5 to 6 generation can join the IAF from 2032 onwards. By that time Miraj 2000 will come for retirement.
    For Third largest Economy by 2047
    60 squardens of modern aircraft is must. We have to be ready to fight war on 5 fronts. Similar approach has to be adopted for Submarines. Three foreign vendors French 6 +3, two more foreign manucturers 9 each with Indian partners. Simultaneously build only nuclear submarines in India under government supervision. Two more aircraft carriers and 3 helicopter/drone decks. For these projects the major payout will happen 5 years down the line after initial signing payout.
    We need to see Modiji hugging other country leaaders as country with Economic and Military might
    . 💪
