      Yet again is it even possible? He chose not press that button because of his experiences with Rose. And without the presence of Rose, the 9th Doctor would’ve been killed in the opening episode of series 1. Or maybe the whole Bad wolf thing prevents the Doctor and Rose from ever being separated and so their travels together are a fixed point in time, Jack became a fixed point thanks to the Bad wolf afterall.

    I always find weird 12's darkest timeline, but I guess that was because this comic was done before his tenure ended (reason why is series 8 twelve). I see comments mentioning Hell bent, and yeah, I can see that.
    I think 9's darkest timelines all lead to his dead immediately after. Almost of of series 1 was him taking certain dead desicions and he been ready to just die right there lmao.

    So, would the War Doctor’s worst timeline basically be if he actually went through with using the Moment, even with the help of his previous incarnations? That would probably be exactly the same since he still blames himself, not knowing he didn’t do it, but more character breaking. Or would it be something like killing Rassilon and taking his place or fully joining the Time Lords’ side.

    • @EditedAF987

Sort of up there with the 'there's no such thing as ghosts' assertion.

    Idk I've always thought that Twelve's darkest timeline is kind of a misunderstanding of his character, as one of his character flaws is his codependence with Clara. Him running off with her in Hell Bent rather than throwing her out would have been a better representation of his dark side.
    Also ughhh are we gonna talk about Creed of the Kromon? And how it's the one that actually deserves Nekromanteia's reputation

      Kroman is more disappointing given it's writer also gave us Vengeance on Varos. Made me realize that a lot of Varos' strengths were in the visuals cause the two stories aren't too dissimilar in substance.

    Re the 11th Doctor = I always wanted to see someone play with the idea of what if the Doctor decided to rescue baby Melody Pond and return her to her parents. Yes, I know there are fanfics using that idea, but just think about it - the Doctor means to do a good thing by helping his best friends and rescuing their little baby, but instead he probably blows the universe to shreds because any fixed points River was involved with disappear, not to mention River doesn't get her parents together (as Mels) so she's never born. And yes, the 10th Doctor dies instead of River so the 11th Doctor never exists so there's no Doctor to rescue that baby (that was now never born) that he just blew up the universe to rescue...wibbly wobbly timey wimey...I think I just made my own head hurt, but you get the idea. By this one act the Doctor messes up quite a bit, doesn't he?

    • @Ben-vf5gk
      @Ben-vf5gk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      One reading of Girl Who waited is that it's a microcosm of the situation 11 had to grapple with Melody and River. If he saves Melody (young Amy) then River (Older Amy) doesn't exist.

    I love the idea of River Song's world but I agree it's used in a bad episode. All of history happening at the same time is such a fun idea. Especially in the Whoniverse when you have a alien invasion of Earth once a month. But they never really do very much with it. It's one of the episodes I wish had been a 2 or 3 part story. You could make an interesting, albeit deeply upsetting, story out of that, but _Kromon_ just treats it as just a run-of-the mill adventure, and to me it comes across as the author using Doctor Who as a platform to indulge his transformation fetish (especially since "female companion undergoes transmogrification against her will" is a feature of _every single story_ he wrote for Doctor Who).

      Torchwood often feels like they're trying way too hard to be edgy and dark.

      I think the Torchwood audios are a lot more mature when they’re tackling heavier subjects (apart from some episodes in Aliens among us but we need not speak of them).
      And in any case Big Finish don’t always do serious Torchwood stories, there’s a lot more variety and there are plenty which are just hilarious and a lot of fun: like when Ianto and Jack go undercover as a married couple in suburbia; or when we got a Love and Monsters style episode about a right wing conspiracy theorist trying to destroy Torchwood; or when Suzie ended up in a Felma and Louise scenario with Margaret the Slitheen; and pretty much any story with Norton Folgate and Andy Davidson together will have some guaranteed laughs.
