      Yes! This video explains all the weird things that seemed rather odd in the tabs I have. The tabs are horribly wrong 😂 This is my favorite song to play but not the favorite solo. Yeah. I've been playing the main riff wrong for fifteen years. There aren't many notes wrong but still. Luckily I'm not an artist. I just play myself so I can keep on playing it wrong. 😀

The local Chief of Police was trying to cancel the show because "Ozzy is satanic..." My stepbrother and I ran a button campaign selling "Ozzy Fop Police Chief" buttons that was covered on the front page of our local newspaper and seen by Ozzy's press people and they gave our whole family backstage passes! One day I had a Les Paul Junior with me and Jake stopped by my office. We were talking guitars as usual and I mentioned that I had brought in a cool little guitar with me that day. When I brought it from the back office and he saw it, his eyes lit up like a kid because he said that was one of his first guitars when he was a kid himself. • @biohazard8295
      @biohazard8295 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      They probably tuned the guitar depending on wheter he was playing higher or lower on the fretboard, to take into account intonation issues. But i think the playing does 99% of the job. Even with a perfectly tuned guitar, your fretting hand fingering must be perfect, avoiding going to sharp because of too much pressure, and also the picking hand must touch evenly the strings, expecially to provide open sounding chords. Also picking too heavily can make notes sharp, there needs to be a perfect balance, without making it sound "sterile".

      I've noticed the heavier strings don't get so "flappy" the way lighter strings do and so I can play harder without pushing notes sharp.
      It's also more fun to "throw" that vibrato into them without worrying about doing too much, too hard. I've heard people complain that those strings are too heavy but once you get used to playing heavy strings then it's really not a big deal.

    Following in the footsteps of Randy Rhoads was no easy feat. As a guitarist and musician, and someone who picked up guitar BECAUSE of Randy Rhoads, I have to give props to Jake. Impossible to follow in those footsteps but he did a marvelous job.

      It's Ozzy. He has his pick and he always picked the best available. Make no mistake, those guys wanted to play for Ozzy. He didn't have to beg any of them, I can promise you that. Instant star when you're on stage with Ozzy. A true legend......

    Jake played this at the age of 26. I first heard this at the age of 13 in 1983.I tried to play this when I was 20, but I couldn't.But I cannot give it up and I started to give a try again half a year ago for the first time in 33 years.This song is worth trying for years.

    AWESOME!!! This the song that officially made me a metalhead way back when I was 12. Jake E. Lee is responsible (nope...not Ozzy with his overbearing woman) -JAKE and I thank him for that assist because since then, I am still on this metal trip. 💪🏼🤟🏼

    Jake E Lee’s playing on this album is nothing short of phenomenal. This is the best album Ozzy has ever made IMO, followed by The Ultimate Sin. Rock And Roll Rebel is my favorite track on this album.

    If you really want to know who “gets it” and who has the talent in this era, go listen to how well they doubled tracked their stuff. I’ve never been a huge Randy Rhodes or Jake E Lee fan but both of those cats REALLY knew how to double their lines and always always always knew precisely where they were and where they were going next.
    Jake never got the love and adulation that he deserved. It’s nice to see him finally getting real recognition from younger metal fans.

    Holy crap - this exact music is what started it ALL for me! Back when I heard this song for the first time in '83/84 I was completely captivated by Jake's amazing playing - just tasty riff after tasty run after tasty shred, and I couldn't get enough of it. Even at 12 years old I knew he was something special, and it still holds up until this day, almost 40 years later! Thank you Jake... 🤘
