      Following that logic, almost 99% of stuff in the USA is made in China so what would we call everything else...."Republic of china toys", "Communist houseware and decor"...."Chinese clothing"????

    What a great video. I just got some American Bresse for pretty much the same reasons. Quality not quantity. God bless y'all.

      Thank you ❤️ - we appreciate the encouragement and the camaraderie! We’re trying out best to hone in on breed standard - love these chickens!

    Thank you the information of the Bresse breed. I’m thinking of going that route this spring. I didn’t notice much rooster crowing and see you have nearby houses. I live in town and am concerned about excessive crowing. What has been your experience? Thanks!

      Hey Charlotte! I’ll be doing an update video soon but in short we found it helpful to do both American Bresse and a larger broiler like a Cornish. We like the AB for sustainability purposes and in the event there is a problem with shipping and what not we have a meat option. The meat tastes amazing. They just honestly don’t get large enough, fast enough to part them.

    Are yall in Texas? We are wanting to start the Bresse chicken for meat. We have been raising cornish Roasters (slower growing than cornish cross). But it hasn't always worked out that well. I would definitely like to pick your brain a bit about how you raise them, feed, incubating a new batch etc.
    God bless yall.

    What are you finding it costs you to raise these birds from start to finish these days?

    Wow.. thank you guys sooo much for this video. I was raised a vegetarian but lost my mind on sugar and carbs in my 20s. I discovered that meat makes me feel fantastic but I was struggling with how to handle killing these animals I raised myself. You put it in a way that gives me confidence I can do it. Thank you!

    How many chickens do you keep for your flock and how many do you harvest?

    • @fewtreezyfilms6821
      @fewtreezyfilms6821  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey James! Sorry for my delay in responding. Right now we have 2 flocks of Bresse to breed our birds for processing (1 Roo and 7 hens). We’d probably like to get that to 3. We are ramping up our harvesting to get to 30-40 birds every 4-5 months. Do you have meat birds yet?

      @@fewtreezyfilms6821 we have ordered 35 bresse chicks and are looking forward to raising them. Where do you buy yours? Do you sell too?

    • @fewtreezyfilms6821

      Sorry somehow I didn’t get a notification for this! We have a few sources - green fire farms, bresse farms, and a friend from the Facebook group on American Bresse. We are not doing NPIP certification so we will only he selling in South Carolina. If you want green fire (original importer) I’d recommend jumping on eBay to get hatching eggs! Otherwise I’d go with someone from that Facebook group. I’ve been unhappy with Bresse Farms.

    Looks like you got a healthy flock of birds. Remember you have to save enough birds so they don't interbreed. A lot of people buy birds from different hatcheries.

    I have a block of the White American Bresse for about 5 years. They are great breed for meat and egg. I just feed them regular feed and no special diet because too much work. If you are looking for dual purpose breed, give the White American Bresse a try. They are also best butch around 4.5 - 5 months old.
