You know what I think makes this good as a guitarist? Your bends are really crispy. You hit those bends precisely and fast. Surprisingly challenging to hit them that quickly.

Well it's Tatsuro, who famously plays a telecaster

Many jazzy guys got telecasters, but the start is just overall so versatile that it's overall best to acquire. Telecasters are notoriously bright sounding, which is fitting for jazz & funk playing, but they can't command a solo tone like a strat can.
Of course this it's all up to your preference.
