@@collectorinvestordealer I’m glad I came across your channel because I always wondered these types of things and the way you edit and explain, helps a lot 🤙
Just watched this vid for the third time today. Love it. That Earl Campbell card is so great. I always thought of him (and maybe Bo Jackson) as the baddest back. Going to have to pick that Earl card up. At one time Mean Joe was one of the most well-known players in the NFL because of the Coke commercial. I remember that commercial like it was yesterday. That may have been one of the first super SuperBowl commercials. A classic. And Sweetness... nothin’ to say there but he was amazing. Still upset Ditka let the Fridge take the TD in the blowout SB and didn’t give that to Peyton. I gotta get over it, it’s been 35 years! 😀

I have thousands of football and baseball cards from the late 1960’s through the late 1970’s. They’re in excellent condition and I’m sure I have multiple of each of those cards. With these prices, it’s time to review and decide how to proceed. I have a lot to learn including grading, how to sell and where to sell. Thanks for your videos. I’m just starting to view but great information
It would not be hard to find someone on here willing to buy your entire collection, obviously it’s not going to be top retail price but you can get a fair price , all the money at once and not have to deal with selling individually.
Great video,,just sold a bunch of old cards 70-75 old vintage football lots had tons of them when we were kids..not in any condition though..love this one...I have to get a few more,,..and the PSA 8 is what i normally target..pricey any higher for my blood..have a good one
Yeah the era exploded in PSA 9s and 10s lately. Getting off the charts with values. I love this era as its just so different than cards today, but still an era that today's collectors remember.
No mention of the 1977 Topps Mexican? That set is by far the hardest set to build. All of the 528 cards in the set are typically 10 times as expensive. Lots of short prints and condition issues make this the most difficult - and expensive - set I have ever built.
Man I used to have a massive collection of these 70’s rookies graded. There was a local auction that ran every Tuesday night at card shop and I would always bid on these, cuz at the time I collected mostly football then basketball, now it’s switched, but I lost all these in a move or sold them sometime in my past.
Very different time for cards. One set a year, targeted at kids, each superstar has exactly one Rookie card. What a hobby transformation over the last few decades.
Big fan of your channel. Great references, insight, and advice. Everyone loves lists of Top 20 or most expensive of the decades, etc. I know I’m always bugging you about this subject but PLEASE can you do a UFC/MMA video? Top 20 UFC/MMA cards that have sold on E-Bay would be more popular than you might otherwise think imo. 🤔 MMA is on 🔥🔥🔥 right now and the only way to popularize it is to promote it. I can’t find ANY “top” list of MMA cards and I think your platform is the perfect place to get more recognition 🙂👊🤛🤞🏻💯🙏🏻

AWESOME! ... dang! Was hoping at the end you would have done a BONUS card ... the most expensive *card* in the 1970's Football :) maybe next time ... is it that high number Joe Namath card? (the in action card)
Just recently I started looking into key 70's FB in ~ PSA 8 and have already picked up a couple from this list, as well as a couple "2nd year" cards. It's interesting, yet not all that surprising, that just about every card shown is currently selling @ 2x compared to Oct. 2020. 1970's FB, and even basketball, have much lower print runs than Topps baseball and perhaps people are starting to realize that, hence driving up prices.
Thanks for the price updates, i have most of these cards in my collection, i,m willing to sell a few, if someone is looking for a certain card to fill a collection
Man I love your videos! Ive been wanting to make stuff like this, but trying to find my own way of doing it, cuz I don’t want to look like I copied your work. However I do love all these list, so I definitely reflect on your videos for inspiration when thinking about future content for my own channel! Great video as always!!
Michael Sheets thanks bro. I may try one out very soon. I’ll definitely give the man credit. I’ve only seen him and psa collector really do list like these.
Crazy to see the prices of PSA 8 go for so much. I wonder if Mahomes PSA 8 will be worth money if he wins another superbowl (9s and 10s prices are over the top).
Good question, tough to say. For cards in the 70s, an "8" is considered high grade, while for cards in the 10s, and "8" is almost considered a low grade. But that may change over time. And Mahomes is so young, could have any number of super bowls left in him.
Good to see special team players get some hobby love. Only punter I know that people like is Pat McAfee and that’s maybe because he has his own show. I sold one of his base Donruss card for $10.
Hope your trip home went well. Cant wait to see a "My Collection" video. If you see this comment I know itis a video from a while ago. Your videos are remote drops no matter how many times I have seen them. Question that goes well with this video. Do you see complete team sets often? Im a Dolphins fan and starting a 1966 to 2000 Topps set. I think it will be a great hunt and might do another team after. Not looking for a quick flip but just wanted to know if the value would be nice after the work. Keep up the great work. Ps my wife does not listen to my card collecting stories but she likes yours.
Good question... you dont see a lot of team sets out there anymore. But I would sat that would be a pretty cool collection to put together, a team set run covering 35 years. You're wife sounds cool :)

It looks like I have 15 out of the 23 cards. None are graded and I'd say my best looking card is the 1979 Earl Campbell which probobly isnt even an 8 😅. I spent my hard earned money when I was younger on a lot of cards that are in bad shape
Tough to say but they have been pretty good investments in the past. The HOFers and higher grade copies, I would say are more likely to grow in value in the future.
Vintage RCs of HOFers have always appreciated in the past, even in lower grades. The higher the grade has been, the more the card has grown. But PSA 7s still have seen long term growth as well, no real reason to think they wont continue to.
Topps used to produce the sets in series. The last series (so the highest numbers in the set chronologically) were often produced in the least quantity so today generally have more value.
Lynn Swann does not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. And the Steve Spurrier card being valuable is ridiculous. Walter Payton is arguably the greatest running back AND football player ever. Roger Staubach was a better quarterback than Terry Bradshaw.
Love these lists you put out Chris. You really do a good job with your research.
Appreciate that. The research is time consuming, but its fun-time-consuming.
Thanks Chris, another great list of cards that l wish I had in my collection. Cheers, stay safe.

any thoughts on the red heart dog food baseball cards of the 50s? Good investments?
Tough to say but they have been pretty good investments in the past. The HOFers and higher grade copies, I would say are more likely to grow in value in the future.
What tracking system is that for card values?
For this video I used VCP, vintagecardprices.com. They are a fantastic resource for data, they cost something like $120/year.

What do you think the chances of even the lower grades like 7 and below will appreciate? Maybe in many years.

@@collectorinvestordealer same for non HOFers if it’s rare?
It depends heavily on the card, but in a very general sense, I probably wouldn't recommend PSA 7s as long term investments on 70s non-HOFers.
That Ray Guy card has the absolute worst picture. There are 3 guys in the photo and Guy is the one waaay in the back.
OJ simpson, great running back, lousy armed burglar
What are “high numbers”, and why are they a tough find?
