  • Sick of losing plant labels? This might be the answer to that problem. Cheap and long lasting compared to other types or forms of labeling and markers.

I would've never thought to use old window blinds as plant labels. You're amazing tita. Thank you po for the tips. ❤️

I can’t BELIEVE the extent of your collection after only six years! Your allotment/grow space must be huge! I didn’t know about UV resistant markers and appreciate your tips here! Love all the way from NY xx

Hello miss. Liz! I started using permanent paint markers a few years ago, but still only if we all knew what you knew the world would be a better place! Thank you.

I type up labels using bold font and clear packing tape. Making them and putting on bottom of pots. Just gathering my collection 😁 I have a gardening journal and drawn map/description of pot and succulent. I'm ok with all the work it takes it calms me.

Again an extremely useful and practical vdo. We have a red alert and constant heavy rains and the labels r all looking like running mascara! As soon as i can i am off to get some aluminium blinds and will try to see if i get the same markers. Also a metal scribe tool! U are a godsend. Thank you.

I use a label maker and customize color, fonts or size and affixed it to store bought blank plant label. It is water proof and smudge proof especially when spraying alcohol. Downside is if you have large collection it is pricey and labor extensive.
Most of my succulents are indoor so I also . use outdoor camping shower with battery to water my plants. So handy

I've tried pencil, grease marker, paint pen, and Sharpie Xtreme. None of them made it through Colorado weather (hot and dry in the summer with scorching sun, cold and dry in the winter). What works best for me is P-touch label maker with their P-touch Xtreme tape. The text hasn't faded at all in the 6 years I have been using it. It sticks to any plastic plant label or the metal ones if you prefer and does not come off.

After my adorable 2year old Great Branson removed the labels from the pots in my greenhouse I had a big job working out IDs. So nothing like that will ever happen again I use a. Black permeant marker on my terracotta pots

I tried this with yogurt cups and it doesn't last. Even putting tape over the writing. The weather faded it. (We used a sharpie marker. Maybe that's why it faded. )
I ended up printing the names of the plant, putting it on a Manila folder that I cut apart, then slid that into a sheet protector. Cut it and then taped the sides. And tapped it to a skewer stick. That worked perfectly. Keeps the water out, the sun doesn't fade it. That's the best labels we've made.

Do you have a video about what could go wrong with succulents. Was visiting a big chain store noticed that some of the succulents had a white film on leaves.

There's a lot of ways on what could go wrong in growing succulents. A lot of succulents have a white powder coating called FARINA. On some succulents, the white film formed on top is due to "Farina" that come off when they are watered on top.
