Easy fix for Firman generator not starting

- My Firman 7500watt generator wouldn't start.I changed my spark plug and it still wouldn't start. After carefully over looking the generator it was found that the fuel sector switch had broken which prevented the generator from working.
I've ordered the switch and will update the install when it comes in.
I run my generator for a hour once a week which is how I caught the issue before we needed the generator. Make sure you start your generator to keep in working condition! - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต

Thanks for the video - the micro switch(es) would be replaced just as shown.
For those who wander in this excellent video, know there are three micro switches that the fuel valve (large rotating knob) make contact at the Stop, LPG and Gas positions. For generator HO8051these are part numbers 96 & 97 on the parts list. The micro switches for LPG and Gas are the same design and if ordered ship as a quantity of two and the Stop is a single item.
Make sure that the switches are the culprit as I thought that was the case with my fuel valve not going to the Stop or Gas positions - it was really the fuel valve knob that was the problem. After inspecting the three switches, not noticing any movement in them and the switches (silver pieces) triggering when depressed I then removed the selector and lubricated the spring loaded bearing on top of the knob (even though it seemed to depress easily), worked it a few times, reinstalled it and Voila! It worked through all the cycles.
The moral is try the easiest fix first - good luck to all!
Hi! Let’s be honest here. That Firman generator looks pretty cool with its bright colours. Also, it’s tri-fuel. Wow! Pretty neat! Since it was on sale at Costco, it seems that everybody and his donkey bought one! However, there is a lot of videos on YT talking about problems with this generator. I’ve had my Honda generator, an EM5000 for 25 years this year. I never had a part break like that. I think I’ll stick with my Honda. Mind you, the Honda costs a lot more than a Firman. That must be the reason. My Honda simply does not break…

Mind you people who do not have issues guy not make TH-cam videos and there are a lot of them including myself. For some, kookie cars than Toyota, others no other generator or mower than Honda or like my uncle, electric cars are a gimmick and not here to stay. He's been saying since ee acquired the first Tesla in 2012. Still running, no repair, battery strong 12 years later. To each it's own.

No red light so the switch on both sides are broken or popped out and it’s easer if you remove the fuel tank and not the whole panel.
Mine does the same, even with the light on. I don't want to open it in case it voids the warranty
Fix it with some duct tape, "The Handyman's Helper" (Red Green Show).
What is the swirch called?
Do you have a part number for this ? Mine is broken and I can't find it.
I don't have a part number, you gave to call them direcly...tell them you need the switches that's underneath the fuel selector that the wires run to. It's 3 of them and they will send you all 3
My switch will not go from propane to gas it is on propane and locks right before off?
The switch needs to be replaced, if you had it less thsn a year thwy will send you a replacement one under warranty of you registered it.
If you have to buy it its price affordably for the swirch.
Does anyone have an answer for this same generator having issues with running for three minutes and then shutting off completely then starting back up and running fine only for three minutes again??
Do you leave the gas in it over an extended amount of time?
If so you may need a carb.
All generators if you leave gas in them should be started up and ran for about 10 minutes every couple of weeks if not weekly
I dont see a red light when you select fuel.
The light should lite up as you select Gas or Propane.
No light means switch is not operating.
My light is on and still won't start
Has your gas been stored in it for a long time?
If so do you start it once a week and let it run for about 5-10 minutes?
Same with mine
Mine won’t start but if I trick it by giving a shot of starting fluid so it runs a few seconds then dies. With the flashing red light it starts and runs just fine. As soon as I turn it off and have the solid red light again it doesn’t even attempt to run.
Not starter fluid, carb cleaner?
The immediate vlue was that the RED light wasn’t coming on. No RED light, no start. It’s right in the manual.
Not expecting to pay 1150 for a generator not to be working
I just bought one yesterday, ran all night, stopped it to refuel and had a hard time restarting it. Lowes better exchange it..1150 pos. My old champion went 8 years , always started 1 or 2 pulls. It's a necessity living in the country
My generator wont start. It'll turn over and thats it. Had it for a year

1. Did you leave it sitting with gas in it?
2. If so Did you add a fuel additive to the gasoline?
3. Did you start your generator for at least 5-10 minutes a week?
4. Try using propane as fuel to start the generator
5. Make sure you have the choke on while starting the generator.
If all that fails you may need a carburetor.
If you filled out and sent in your warranty card they will replace any part that needs replacing.
