I saw Bob a couple of times, and the one thing I noticed was that while he was performing the audience was quiet. No one wanted to disturb his performance because his words were so powerful. He is truly an American icon.
He did not want the Nobel Peace Prize. He did not feel he deserved a literature award. In his dissertation for the prize he talked of writers that influenced him deeply Dylan was the voice of a generation and his songs are relevant through every generation. He absolutely deserved the Nobel.

My future husband and I bonded as teens, listening to Dylan albums, talking about them, discussing the meanings etc. My brothers learned to play guitars using Dylan song books with all the cords..etc etc etc. Saw him perform live 3x and my grown son saw him live too.
