*Bre* YAYYYY..!!! Well whatta know, the greedy gatekeepers let it thru.! *SMILING* I did indeed enjoy.! Bob's Rabbit Hole is very, VERY deep.! His influence is far reaching and influenced everyone just about. From The Beatles to Jay Z and all points in between.! Again, that song was written 58 years ago.! Think on that for a moment.! Being respectful of your time, your many other requests and knowing I could literally keep you busy 24/7 with requests given my background, I'll just stick with the 2nd option I floated you, which was *Leon Bridges* "Beyond" *official video* ! I'll make two promises to you..... 1) *EVERY* song I request moving forward, from all genres * time periods will be A+ ones.! Deep message and/or Emotionally fulfilling ones only.! 2) Tell me when your next Live session is, if you know, I have my end to hold up...:) Thank You sweet soul..! *David* .....

@@davidstenton4365 ok that request there will be added to my list.. This one here was so deep! Bob is definitely a pure lyrical genius! With only a guitar and a harmonica. *Mind still blown*...So glad you introduced him to the channel😊. I'll be going live perhaps a little later in the week. I'll post a message on my community tab the day of, so that anyone who's free can swing through. Hope to see you there my beautiful soul!. Thank you for your support!

I saw Bob a couple of times, and the one thing I noticed was that while he was performing the audience was quiet. No one wanted to disturb his performance because his words were so powerful. He is truly an American icon.

He did not want the Nobel Peace Prize. He did not feel he deserved a literature award. In his dissertation for the prize he talked of writers that influenced him deeply
Dylan was the voice of a generation and his songs are relevant through every generation. He absolutely deserved the Nobel.

An entire young generation listened to Dylan's songs, He was (and is) an effective human rights activist. 'Hurricane" live...you will see him at his best. "Blowin' in The Wind" probably best known 'Folk Song" First Dylan song I ever heard on the radio when I was about 11-12, was "Like a Rollin' Stone" Turned the radio up!! All are awesome and relevant still today. My future husband and I bonded as teens, listening to Dylan albums, talking about them, discussing the meanings etc. My brothers learned to play guitars using Dylan song books with all the cords..etc etc etc. Saw him perform live 3x and my grown son saw him live too. Thanks for sharing!

Bob is a word master. React to the "Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll". It's my favorite. Enjoyed this one. Bob was rather unpopular for a while when he went electric. At a folk festival Pete Seger tried to cut the power with an axe. He was regularly booed for a while.

  • @markggillespie3928

I like that you check a little background. So important for understanding the song. Consider also the history - what was going on when this song was written Viet Nam war, civil rights (wrongs) protests in the streets and cities aflame, first ever female contraceptive in pill form - ‘the pill’, President Kennedy assassination, Martin Luther King assassination, two months later, Bobby Kennedy assassination, Woodstock, Summer of Love, and free love. The baby boom began after WWII so by early 1960’s these babies were teens and young adults. More of this age group than ever before in history. They had buying power, power in numbers of them and they began to change music drastically, film drastically, The world was changing drastically and that is reflected in every aspect of life, arts, and commerce.
You do a great job and this is the first I’ve tuned in. Thank you

The line catching my attention today is, "The loser now will be later to win"
Maybe I'm a jaded pessimist, but I don't believe in this at all.
Rich getting richer, poor getting poorer
    For 5 decades now
Everything getting gobbled up by a few
    Knock out blows
Regular folks getting trapped, and crushed
    Financially , physically and emotionally
And it's only going to continue to get worse
