As a lifelong lions fan, I truly appreciate all your hard work and content. Its awesome and way more detailed than most creators. Thank you on behalf of all lions fans.
For real, I feel a little spoiled that a Ravens fan with great insight decided to eval the Lions too.
@@SeanMog bro were so lucky lol hes the man
Agreed. :)
I agree, thanks coach!
Great content to get an idea on what kind of player Davis is. It’s validating that he’s the kind of player that fits the team; plays hard, can tackle, plays man coverage really well and can cover taller receivers. He had a few rough games, but bounced back. That’s what you want to see in a CB when facing top WR week in and week out.
Have to go back to see the film on how he did with Justin Jefferson week 1 of last year’s season.
I actually like the CB combination of Sutton, Moseley, and Davis a lot more than what we had out there at the end of last season. Hopefully they bring in a young CB to develop at their own pace now.
Gilmore
That’s exactly my sentiments. The CB room is MUCH better now. Davis the guy that locks down WR1’s. He usually (not always) locks them down. He played injured a lot last year. Sutton is a BEAST as a CB2. And Moseley could still be a dawg and is basically insurance. Davis on a contract year is playing for his future and we still draft our future CB1 to learn this year behind these guys.
Robertson is no slouch either... he would've been our CB2 last year
We'll be lucky to get moseley on the field at all
now tht sutton is gone hopefully he will get more reps i trust him more anyways even tho hes been injured@@diversifiedassociates8788
And we got Amik Robertson now too thats really good
I'm suprised other folks aren't as pumped as I am for this signing and Akim. Instant power ups!
Lion's fans smash the like button on every Lion's. I even watch Raven's videos and smashed the like. Consistent great content.
Thanks so much bro for explaining what this man can do. I had a Bucs fan tell me that everyone liked this guy.
Chase the WR said Davis 3. Was the one CB that gave him a hard time.
Thanks for taking our over paid CB. He will be hurt in no time and can't catch clear INTs
@@mynameis3568bum
@@mynameis3568 why are you here lmfao
@@Todtodtodtod He's telling you the truth. I know Lion Fan's are excited for this move...but you really need to temper your expectations. We (Buc fans) have seen him a LOT MORE THAN YOU HAVE. That guy is speaking truth. Whether you want to believe it or not.
Hell of a break down. This guy is very good. I’m glad he’s a Lion. We need this same break down of Amik Robertson and Davenport.
LOL! No. He isn't "really good". He's just..."good". I've seen every games he's played (Buc Fan). Re-set your expectations and you won't be disappointed. IF you're expecting "really good"? You're gonna be let down. Facts.
Working on one of Robertson, looks like an energetic and exciting player. Covers tough and tackles. Lions just seriously upgraded the DB talent on the roster.
So why are u so salty, then? 😂 @@scottbaron121
@@scottbaron121why are you so heavily in the comments being a Debbie downer if he's bad? Shouldn't you be happy he's gone and yall got a late 3rd out of it?
Thank you again, your telecast are the best by far. Go Lions #46 #87
This is great content. Nice job 👏🏼
Wasn't he the guy that got blocked into eternity by Craig Reynolds?
Yeah, but anyone would have been blocked into eternity as well
@@GSXK4 True! The announcer call was fantastic!!
Wow this has easily turned into my fav football channel on here.
Great work!
This is awesome, thank you for sharing!
Great explanation of what the Lions now have access to. Appreciate your continued efforts to inform the Lions community about their team. Also the Ravens. But more the Lions.
Thank you!!!
I’ve watched a few of your vids and I feel guilty for only subscribing now. You do a hell of a job!
Thank you. No problem man. No one is under any obligation to Subscribe but it certainly helps the channel grow. Thank you again.
Absolutely love your lions videos and watch every one
Thanks for getting this out so quickly. Excellent work and I feel better about the trade, especially if Carlton Davis III can stay healthy.
Great film breakdown. Appreciate the time and effort you put into this coach!
My understanding is he's good in man, not bad in zone. Hopefully they can redo his contract and give him 2 years and even out the cost, and pump it up with incentives. So the team doesn't get burned, hopefully he stays reasonably healthy.
I feel better about his potential in Detroit after your analysis...
Good job! I subscribed. I enjoyed all your material last season. And looking forward, you doing a good job this season as we go to the Super Bowl.
I'm more excited about Amik Robertson. I know I should be more excited about Carlton Davis, but I happened to notice Amik 2 years ago, and kept an eye on him. He is super athletic, and just seems ripe to have a breakout season. He is like glue on his guy, and his hands are always working at knocking the ball away. He can jump really high, and when he gets a pick, his return speed is startling. He gets up field like a slot receiver with speed and moves.
But this is a good thing. Maybe we got 2 great corners.
More excellent analysis. Thank you.
Great breakdown as always. Thanks for the work you put in.
my favorite breakdown of all time!!!
Like I said in the other video, I thought they would sign somebody who was good against bigger/stronger receivers. Even if he's not a natural in zone coverage I think his experience in TB will help in that regards and give Glenn some flexibility to mix/disguise coverages. Signing a couple of guys to shorter term contracts will give whoever they draft time to develop, which I think is necessary and good long term planning.
Great Lions content!
As a life-long Buc fan...I know this guy is Lions biased but here's the honest truth (from a Buc Fan perspective): CD3 is...good. He's always "around" the ball and the play. That said...he really doesn't make many actual "plays" on the ball. He has something like 9 int's for his CAREER. He's physical and difficult to play against. He's a good tackler...which he's seemingly ALWAYS doing because the opposite WR is CATCHING the ball. IMO...not worth what he's being paid for the actual PRODUCTION. I really WISH he was better than he actually was. He's also missing games for you. I wish him the best but (again...as a Buc fan)...I'm not losing any sleep over this.
Love your content man. Keep it up. 👍
Great breakdown. TH x for the content.
If Brad Holmes likes him, I like him. That’s how I see it.
Real nice having this, I'd no frame of reference for him
Buc fans do. You might want to read what they're saying.
ok I'll do that, ty@@scottbaron121
@@scottbaron121 yeah, because the “fans” are the best place to find out if a player is good. 😂 Most casual fans wouldnt know a good player from a hole in the wall. Some Lions fans (who dont know any better) were bashing DJ Reader. There’s more bad takes from fans, than good ones.
Iove you analysis!
Great thank you
the only problem is, how healthy will he be. Moseley was almost immediately hurt last season. It seemed like ever non-draft acquisition by the Lions was on IR or just sucked.
So it's great seeing how good this guy is on the field, the bigger question is will he be on the field?
What about Montgomery?
Sutton would be a decent CB2. Couple of them played decent but were on 1,2 year deals. Injuries are a bitch, that's why good depth is important. Which makes keeping all your young stars difficult and stay under the cap. The teams that tend to have long-term success typically are willing to trade or not resign some of their stars. They draft well and develop replacements on cheaper contracts to take their place.
Great pick up Amik Robertson. Then can even get even more better
Is it me, or does Davis play just like Branch!!!
Thank you Coach!
Thanks for this
Lions fans don;t know we got a good one they go by PFF too much as for Sutton I hope he can be our CB #2 but man he did look really bad last year so I wouldn't;'t be surprised if he gets traded or cut at some point either.
He didnt look bad all year. The first half of the season he was damn good. Then he started going against all the big WR1s and that is not his forte. He will be a GREAT CB2.
all these armchair Gms . First of all there really is not such a thing as a true shut down corner anymore - like a Revis Island -. The best sign IMO is that he is not targeted often - that pretty much tells you need to know. If he can stay healthy we know we have a significant upgrade. Hopefully Sutton can return to his play the first 8 games of the season - then something happened and he started giving up big plays
@@pjpredhomme7699 I believe he had a toe injury around when his play started to decline, it's possible he never got back to full strength. Might not explain all of it but hopefully he looks more like his week 1 self after an off season of recovery
CD3, Moseley, Robertson with Branch at Nickel 😭😭
I see both of the corners we got this offseason are way better than Cam Sutton. By the end of the year Sutton was getting scorched every game and as I Lions fan I’m thrilled that we have a replacement for him now that I’m confident will do much better
He joined the Lions so Reynolds didn't throw that block on him again. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Please please still keep breaking down Lions next season coach! Thanks!
I knooooow the Henry video is coming 🔥🙏 phew let me find out 🙏🙏🙏
Uploading this morning.
❤❤
You are awesome Would you come onto a Lions Podcast
He was kind enough to give Jordan Addison his first career td ;)) thanks lions now he can cook him twice a year!
Carlton Davis has to be an upgrade over Cam Sutton
He is, no disrespect intended at Sutton. But Davis has a lot more accomplishments and much better film than Sutton.
@all_22_films couldn't agree more Go Lions
I was waiting on this one lol
The Falcons TD to 8 was definitely his fault. He was outside his zone. He was too far into the numbers. But he is solid. I feel like with melifonwu and b branch over top with Sutton, the newest addition, Robertson and a solid draft pick added,we might have a solid secondary.
We won't spend this kind of money but if we could get newsome from Cleveland I would be perfectly good with getting rid of Sutton.
But it's a pipe dream with this reality
Let's imagine we did a deep dive on your performance delivering Lions news. You are destroying the competition relating team info to the public so much that anybody currently being paid to deliver Detroit Lions news should feel kinda shamed. DE-STROYING! #allpro
main thing that worries me is that the bucs played a much more aggressive style of defense than the lions. when the bucs d can put all kinds of pressure on the qb it really helps out the secondary and makes them look better than they really are.
What about the Lions defensive scheme towards the end of the year showed them not being aggressive??
@@TsunamiHead62being aggressive and being able to give consistent pressure with your front without blitzing are two very different things.
@@DemonEdge82How does this have an relevance lol we played a very aggressive defense similar to how we played in 2022 by the end of the season. Regardless if we could get pressure with 4 or not.
@@Jonathan-cz4ky it’s fools gold, we have serious issues in the secondary and on the line. We need to create pressure in a more reliable way.
He was horrid vs Houston. He got cooked all game. PFF is probably more right than you on this one.
Aaron Glenn will make sure that he plays horribly this season I’m sure
Missed 23 Career games [injury prone] / Passer Rating of 102.5 [Sneed's is 66.5] / Not seeing the value of giving up a 3rd round pick for this guy. Anyone can bash PFF or Pro Football Reference all they want but stats are stats - numbers are numbers. Do some searches for local Tampa area football creators and they're all FINE with the trade. Very telling.
102 passer is in zone. Man is very different bub
Brad never found a broken down player with potential he didn't like. I think people are putting too much faith in Holmes after having a billion nice draft picks in 2 years.
It's much easier picking out elite players in the draft than trying to get another team to give up a great player for cheap. We keep ending up with broken players and it's obvious why no one wanted them.
@@STREAMSONLY-vt6gx Funny how you didn't mention anything about being injury prone, bub. Or the fact that local Tampa writers and content creators are A-OK with him moving on. SMH...
@@YTSparty another cat thats gotta be proven wrong lol
@@YTSparty exactly why you have to have money to sign “a billion” draft picks that hit. We actually draft and develop our guys. We dont overpay other people’s draft picks. We fill needs and get guys with POTENTIAL on better deals, so we can pay the guys we drafted. Our core is far more important than overpaying other teams guys just to appease ignorant fans.
How can u like sutton hes so bad.
PFF the same type of people that claimed Holmes didn't know how to draft.
Just how smart is Davis III
