    I would like to see a comparison of what could be worn for snowmobiling. Pick a jacket and see what fits under there and break them down. Similar to the motorcycle jeans comparison.

    What else can help me to choose right size if I fall exactly at the borderline between sm/MD and l/lx?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can either order both and return the one that doesn't fit, or if you prefer a tighter fitment you can go with the smaller of the two. Typically you want armor to remain in place so erroring on the side of caution for sizing up is recommended. If you prefer base layers / armor rigs to fit loose though, go with the larger size.

    It's a great piece of kit. I bought mine last year and love it. In the video, you say the chest armour is level 1 but your website says level 2. Which is correct?
    I agree that the flank armour pin adjustment is a nightmare to adjust. Way more than a "little cumbersome". However, you may have to do it once then never again fortunately.
    I test fit mine with a Helte Turtle tethered airbag and it works well. So that'll be my combination when the riding season starts.

      @@dok4 Yes, I took a closer look at mine a while back. It's got level 2 chest and back but the shoulders and elbows are level 1. I've fallen in my 5.5 quite a few times since I got it. It did the job well. The plastic shells are a bit scuffed now but I had no injuries.
      My off-trail riding terrain is extremely rocky, jagged rocks too, so I need that level of hard protection.

      Undershirt or NOT?

    • @martinfoster5163
      @martinfoster5163 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@maxelberg yes it can be an undershirt. If you don’t like the MX look you can wear a jersey over it. If it’s raining then a rain jacket will be a good idea. You’ll need to test fit your outerwear because the Leatt is quite bulky.

    Looks like an awesome piece of protection but does the material on the unpadded regions provide any abrasion protection?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, this armor rig is meant for off-road use so the mesh and stretch areas aren’t designed for abrasion resistance.

      @@RevZilla Thanks for the heads up on that-I've actually already bought it but based on your advice will wear it underneath my motorcycle jacket-it actually fits very well underneath it-now can I wear the helite electronic vest on top of my motorcycle jacket with that leatt body protector on??I'm concerned the vest might not be able to expand properly in the event it deploys because of the Leatt.

      @redskies4530 it expands outwards, not inwards. It's fine.

    I have an older version of the vest 5.5 body protector but it looks the same minus the jacket and elbow protection. It would be nice to see how someone is supposed to wear it with a neck brace and a jacket, or even an mx jersey.
    The neck brace goes in the plastic "pockets" front and back, meaning you can't use the straps on the neck brace. The straps on the body protector is completely pointless and does nothing, so the brace will get pushed up, hooking up on some edge on the body protector and drive you crazy. I solved it by drilling holes and secure it with zip ties. Not great but better. Now for the next problem, what will fit over all this. Nothing actually. You can't use any of the gear you have. You will have to buy a huge jersey and stretch it to fit over the neck brace and then a huge size jacket that you will have to cut up and remodel to fit over it too. Because you can't put the neck brace over the jacket because there are big plasic pockets on the body protector that it should sit in.

      you sound like one of those idiots that just bought the wrong gear or just can't figure out how to use it properly. A jersey would easily fit over this body armor

    could i wear something like this under the alpinestar air tech 5 system?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Tech Air 5 System would be something that would usually aim to replace most of this armor (chest / shoulders / back). So wearing both would likely be extremely cumbersome and not really needed. This armor is designed for off-road use, while the Tech Air 5 is designed for on-road use as well. You technically could wear them, but we personally wouldn't.

    Is funny how more protection is advertised for the trails instead of for the streets. I'd argue that concrete+cars is more dangerous than dirt+trees.
