I have been waiting for a break down of opetaias style and as a fellow samoan myself I cant help but feel really proud of his achievements as we Samoans love to represent our small Island.
@Nickpayne2430 He was a Athlete! Fast and strong!!!!!! That's why we haven't seen another fighter like him !!! There playing football instead of boxing !!! Tyson lost only because he beat him self with drugs and alcohol 🍸! My point ! He would of beat the shit out of Tyson fury if they where both 25 years old !!!!
Jai's got all the tools to be the best, he just needs experience & exposure. All around a terrific fighter, he has grit, heart, determination, just needs to pull everything together!
Jai is reminding me of the Soviet Style, utilizing the pendulum step, being light on his feet, using the in-and-out footwork, and ring IQ. I love it. 🥊❤
Absolutely loved this analysis of Jai. You really broke down every facet of his style in exceptional detail! He is almost artistic in his style and an absolute handful to contain. The perfect combination of finesse and violence.
My fighting style is pretty much the same,I got taught the classic high guard European Boxing style in my boxclub but mixed it with the pendulum step.Pretty simple yet effective boxing style.
Great vid & analysis. I feel like you should've mentioned that Jai had a broken jaw in 2 places in the 1st Briedis fight to accentuate how tough & determined he is. Especially like the flaws segment, so few boxing chans are unbiased 🥊
if the cruiserweights duck him then he should move up to heavyweight. I think he beats both Zurdo and CBS but Ramirez gives him a hard fight. I don't think Usyk's success at heavyweight is just a one off, I could absolutely see him taking out a few elite heavyweights and possibly becoming champion. His speed and coordination would be too much for a lot of the big clunky heavyweights of today. Remember Dubois was dropped hard by a Cruiserweight, Lerena, before being stopped by Usyk. While I think Zhang is one of the most skilled fighters in the division and would blow out Bakole, Dubois, and just about anyone who tries to stand and bang with him, I think Opetaia would give him hell by presenting a moving target that bites. If there's one fighter I'd avoid it would be Bakole, I think his fluidity as a combination puncher takes a lot of people by surprise and his skillset seems well equiped for taking down small, fast men. Then again he did lose to Hunter.
Jai can be hittable. Has had his jaw broken already. But he can give us many fights depending on how good he is. Cruiser king then whoop some azz at heavy
@@jonathanmorris2283he absolutely cannot drop to light heavy. Look how lean he already is. He’s already admitted to fight the best of LH it would have to be at cruiserweight.
No need to qualify he's the best Australian boxer 'in your opinion' - he's the best by a country mile. If he can make weight at LH; Jai and Bivol, Beterbiev? What fights! Who would you pick?
The guy is too intense for me 😂 but maybe because he has to lose the weight. Heavyweight is his destiny he will cause problems there with his boxing skill/tough aura and less pressure to lose the weight.
I question how good he is, or are other fighters not wanting to fight him. But I feel except for Bredis, who he has beaten twice, the first perhaps more impressive, Who has he really beaten. If he of course could be Gilberto Ramirez, then of course, he will cement his status as a great.
He reminds me of a giant vergil ortiz in that he constantly throws at full power. His cardio drops however. But he is more athletic. My biggest question mark is that broken jaw of his
Personally I think he is too big to go down to 175. Bivol also may be too small to go up to Cruiser. Saying that, he did beat Zurdo comfortably who is now a cruiserweight and southpaw. Maybe a catch weight could see it happen?
@BoxingLife yeah, how many KOs does he have? Bivol seems to be a lil faster, but given he's at a lighter weight class, that's no surprise. But thanks for this video cause I never knew about this guy. I'm def a fan now cause I love this style of boxing.
Opetaia is who he wants. I’ve trained with efetobor a little bit and he’s a real good guy. This is no shot or disrespect at jai. Simply saying tobor is the last person to beat him so he deserves a chance.
@@unknownsamoan01looks like my comment got deleted, but look him up. He just lost a decision against chev Clarke but I think he deserves a chance considering he’s the last person to beat opetaia.

He'll get their eventually. I imagine he could get the winner of Billam Smith vs Zurdo

Such a savage. A throw back to the oldschool fighters.
He will be a Hall of Famer when all is said and done.

Thanks for this, beautiful breakdown
Forget him possibly fighting beterbiev in the future I'd really like to see him fight benavidez
Oh yeah didn’t think about that one. Could be a possibility if Benavidez moves up
Jai and uysk needs to meet before fury we know who won and who is the better boxer maybe at catchweight of 215 lbs

I think heavy is a step too far forward for Jai. He’s great but I think he should stay at cruiser and drop to light heavy and smash beterbiev there

Very similar to Usyk.
Is he too big to fight bivol? Would like to see who wins that with the same style of boxing.
