It's like all the automakers got together and agreed 'We're all in on EVs'. And then they pointed and Hyundai/Kia and yelled 'Psyche!'. The EVs programs from all the other makers just looks like such a joke still, but thanks Hyundai/Kia for actually building and selling some compelling offerings.
The best part is that Kia and Hyundai doesn’t produce many cars, keeping folks wanting them and the perception of massive production. Except for the sedan Ionic 6

One of the few things I miss about SoCal. My studio apartment in Newport Beach, the beautiful women and the LA Auto Show. Maybe we'll get an El Paso International Auto Show here in my current hometown. I know that will never happen, but I can dream about it lol. Awesome video as usual, guys. 🚙 🇺🇸 🔌

Most people have a thing they're most interested in where everything about that subject sticks with you. His is cars. I'm like that. I can't remember people's names and faces unless I really get to know them over and over but I can rattle off car makes, models, and specs.

Love the car... It CAN road trip.. just don't be in a hurry. And plan for 1/2 the chargers to have SOME issue.
But I took mine on a 2500 mile road trip... went fine. I just took a nap in the back while it was charging.
Just throw Ultium charging in the same design.. and it will SELL.
Toyota website shows a $1200 a month lease for the Mirai Limited. How do we get to a couple hundred dollars a month? Or is that the TCO when including the $15k credit?

52:20 B in MEB is for 'Baukasten', wich directly translated would be building box, but i suppose more commonly sandbox. Tool means 'Werkzeug', so toolkit would be 'Werkzeugkasten' or 'Werkzeugsatz'
I saw that they removed the fake Tesla Pickup truck today, Looks like Tesla complained about it.
Kia EV9 reminds me of an elongated 3 row Kia Soul - I loved the gas Soul - cute and peppy.
Damn, i forgot this was happening this weekend...oh well, I'm glad you guys are covering it....by the way, i believe they said they call the gv70 "electrified" because they basically gutted out the gas version and electrified it. That way consumers don't get a preconceived notion that it was built as an ev from the ground up.
Last year I went to the LA Auto Show and I was disappointed. No Mercedes and BMW on showcase. Also, you couldn't get into a Corvette. Hence, I skipped out on the LA Auto Show for this year.
I just put these tires on my 2019 M3 SR+ a few months ago. I really like them and looking forward to seeing how they do in the snow. I don’t plan on running them in the summer but it’s cool to know that you don’t have to rush around or change them at all once the temperature start rising.
My parents jovially called St Ropez St Ropey!! I thought it was comical at the time!!
At least the Cadillac has a ROUND steering wheel rather than the nearly square one in many electric vehicles!!
I watched some of that BMW hydrogen thing. They had both the story Francine remembered, AND the story Kyle remembered.
BMW Hydrogen 7 was an amazing achievement. 6.0L V12 engine that kicked out 256hp and 290lb/ft. The vehicle weight was 2.3 Tonnes about 250kg heavier than the Petrol version.
If lucid could find profitability and have some more approachable models, I would love one. I’m just not sure of their longevity in the market

There wasn't any promotional ads going on this year, like local ads on X, Insta, radio, etc. like there was in previous years. My buddy saw the tickets at Costco of all places, so we went. I think I've heard Monster Truck ads at Angel's Stadium more than the LA Auto Show 😅
Really have high hopes for the Honda Prelude. Was such a gorgeous car in person. Also hoping Acura brings back the Acura RSX at some point.
Not sure if mentioned, but I saw Ford had bi directional home charging as well at the Mach e which was interesting, hopefully Tesla can do the same at some point.

Hey and Happy Thanksgiving! I watch get a lot of information on what I consider TH-cam University and your reviews are always very informative. We’ve had our Chevy Bolt for almost one year and we just Love the Chevy Bolt EUV. It is solid, smooth, speedy with all the safety bells and whistles and incredibly comfortable and economical. So here’s my question??? Our second car, Honda CRV Hybrid is reaching the end of its lease. I was thinking that the Blazer might be its replacement but you really don’t seem to like it and I respect your opinion. You made an excellent point when just mentioning that range anxiety would not exist if.when we have a better EV infrastructure. I do agree so hopefully that will continue to improve. In the mean time is there any car that you might see a a good replacement for the Honda? Many Thanks and Great Work!!!
Yes I have a 2020 Soul EV limited with 64KWH battery and over 89K KM on it in Canada, that is our daily runabout to complement our 2023 Tesla Model Y AWD Long Range road tripper! Why Kia pulled it out of the USA, is baffling.
Impressive when I do a search for LA auto show, your video comes up first went to the show, saw some good things, but saddened by the lack of a lot of car companies i.e. the Germans and Stellantis, but clever how they covered up the space with the huge Ford display with a roller coaster Ride in a bronco. In the past my dad and I would try to think of what wasn’t on display and there were very few companies that weren’t there. I think the slide happened when Ferrari stopped displaying many years ago, always look forward to seeing them and finally a big thank you to Hyundai Kia and Genesis for actually showing real EV’sthat you can buy now or very soon.
“If it’s not an electric, just make it a manual.” OMG, I think I said the same to my wife since I drive our Tesla and the manual ICE car we have. For context, I wanted to convert her ICE SUV to another EV when I said this.
As far as the control layout is concerned, I like a reasonably conventional forward/Reverse lever like on a normal automatic.
My late cousin Maurice had a Ford Crown Victoria Station Wagon when I went over to stay with him and his wife many years ago!!

I'm confused on (kia) EV 3 & 4 as well. First I heard they weren't coming to NA. Then they held a *north american* release event with both the 3 & 4 presented first and the redesigned Sorento afterwards. Why show them and have a release event if they're not coming to NA?!?
Heck the EV3 makes more sense in NA than the EV9 does imo. How many actually buy 3 rows SUVs? *A lot* buy sub & compact SUVs though, it's the meat of the segment.
I also agree on the look of EV4, it's Fn ugly. It should stay a concept.
I don't like the ZDX design. It looks like a hearse in the back glass. Look at hearse photos, you'll see the *same design element* in the rear black section, the swooping line across the glass. It's the Acura hearse.
For those of us who don’t know cars by their model number a lower third (subtitle ) of the manufacturers name sure would be nice. Thanks for the tour.

The ID Buzz isn’t a CAR!! It’s a Multi Purpose Vehicle that can be a seven seater, a five seater or a freight van.

1:03:20 "Electrified" in Hyundai-speak means it's a half-a$$ electric car based upon a ICE platform, rather than a ground-up clean-sheet EV design like the Genesis GV60 (E-GMP platform like the Ioniq 5/EV6).
Hydrogen cars? Surely not!! The problem with it is that we don’t have the infrastructure here in the slow old United Kingdom!!

Having attended this show for many years, one thing lacking is the futuristic concept cars. There are some concept cars but they aren't futuristic or fantastical...more like what we can expect for mass production next year. My biggest annoyance was having to pay the entrance fee digitally. They didn't have a method to simply pay cash to enter the show. There may have been a way but we were told it was digital only. Another annoyance was $30 to park. And the specialty cars (always located in the lower floor) weren't especially well curated. They seem to be dialing this show down, likely to make even more money.
The Toyota BZ4X crashes when attempting to charge in the cold here in Canada, less that 35KW, really poor charging performance.
I’m not sure if we have EV Go is coming over to the UK, but it looks like a good one!!
16:21 IMO, the Ioniq 5 films and photographs better, but once you sit in them and see them in person, the EV6 is the better looking car in-person.

Both equally destructive and beneficial depending on who you ask.
There is no clean 0 emissions vehicles when you take everything into account.
All cars were electrified in the early 20th C. with alternators, spark plugs and electric lights. Even steam cars were electrified before they last were built in the '20s.

Polestar names tell you which is oldest, like Porsches, so a 912 is a 4-cylinder 911. BMW was originally fiscal horsepower (hp calculated from engine dimensions only for tax purposes).

No, not for nerds. They are EVSE'S and are not chargers as the AC charger is in the vehicle.
That's why some new EV owners have bought an expensive 11.5 or 19.2 kw EVSE and find their vehicle does not charge any faster as the onboard charger is only 7.6kw.
This is why we should call them EVSE'S and not chargers, and of course, EVSE is the factual term.
I am so out of touch. I have no interest in any vehicle that Kyle just showed. All of them suck. I want a SMALL 2-door hatchback. The Mini Cooper is about all that's left, and it's too expensive. The VW ID.2All recently shown is close, but there's no way on earth that VW will actually build it.
I do not want an SUV.
I do not want a pickup truck.
I do not want a 4-door sedan.
Am I the last person on earth that has no use for these vehicles? I want PERSONAL transportation. Why are all vehicles sold today so massive?
Having been an anti Ford for many years, I think that Ford have changed dramatically for the better since I had my Mk 1 Escort Van!!
I was same way after my terrible Escape experience but I did go back and got a new Lightning and have been really really enjoying it!
Example Silverado ev you couldn’t get close or touch the one at San Antonio. No Mustang GTD and on and on.

As far as I’m concerned, the new Honda E:NY1 is pretty much an electric Honda Jazz like the one I had before turning to a Renault Zoe!!
Yeah, you even get to see the battery pack hanging off its belly. The best Honda could manage at the moment, obviouisly.
People still want EVs but between Prices and Interest rates I believe thats what is slowing things down.
