RIP Chris Cross! Brilliant, there are full episodes of these documentaries on here. I missed the original showing back in 2009...... I never bought the TV Times etc...
Billy Currie was really good at doing the song On Broadway for Gary Numans - Living Ornaments album and other Gary Numans songs, the polymoog keyboard is really up their with the best
Your opinion. Please don’t disrespect the fact that Chris Allen (Chris Cross) an amazing bassist and gently person passed away suddenly in March 2024; RIP We miss you Chris, forever in our hearts your music lives on. 🤗🎸🥰
MTV, ancient channel for music......good music......and good videos.....before homo sapiens.....very old indeed....one day maybe BBC can talk about that or history professor.....
Chris mentioned they needed several dozen of them. The band hated the presets. Trying to adjust to the digital synth took some time and experimentation.
I had a Yamaha DX-7 from 1997 to 1999, made in 1985. This keyboard was already old by that time, the piano sound sucked pretty much and there were other synths that had better sounds such as any Roland model from the same year, or an EMU Emulator. I wasn´t really happy with it so I got rid of it quick.. Too much propaganda from the Eighties bands.. hehehe

Wow 2 band members from Ultravox hey, one of my favourite Synthpop bands.
Brilliant to see Billy and Chris getting some attention, shame they couldn't get Midge and Warren too; amazing band, the best of the best.
But absolutely not of the musical genius of Talk Talk Mark Hollis! No one was.

RIP Chris.
i would have liked to see them try to explain how to program the dx7 lol
If you need just one programmed, piece of cake. Too bad it's a crap synth.
Check out "Cosmic Prophets" sampling CD by Richard Barbieri and Jan Linton. Programmed DX7 weirdness

Not a fan. But that was so sweet.

1983 was the Dx7 year
OMD never used a DX7... Rolands and Emulators and a Prophet 5 and a Fairlight all the way.....!
