    haha yea it was great, definitly one of my highlights of high school.
    The presentation was on a favorite song of yours. I wrote a paper on sufjans stevens "A loverless bed" and at the end of the song he uses noise as a way of expression. and then to demonstrate that further I showed this video, I figured i would have had to shut it off a few minutes in but the teacher insisted to play all of it. the class loved it, and i even played them some bungle after that

    The fact that he could easily just remake Epic for the rest of his life but instead chooses to do experimental work like this is what ultimately makes me believe in his integrity as an artist.

    • @joshuafult84
      @joshuafult84 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Exactly lots of people hate on him because they say he isn't big or famous enough not realizing he had the option to be extremely mainstream if he decided. Had Mike and the band made the Real Thing part 2 they would've easily been as big as metallica , guns n roses, etc in the US

    • @mtamech535
      @mtamech535 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I fee the exact same way…except I could easily listen to a hundred versions of epic style songs.
      Dude is brilliant.

    • @heidi_eidieidio
      @heidi_eidieidio หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Also I’ve always thought that he channels something.. hears sounds and voices, so rather than being like a conscious choice to be experimental I feel like it’s just what needs to come out of him.

    I really do not get why people do not get this, why does music and expression have to appear orderly, fluid or even nice for that matter? Just look at how much he is sweating, this just a true test of the ego's ability to let go and express wildly with self consciousness. It is pure expression to the max, and I actually imagine learning to do even some of this and expressing it would be pretty therapeutic.

      I mean, it's not a tune to throw on while chilling out...but it's at least something worth admiring for talent alone. Very much experimental jazz or performance art piece with a metal attitude. Pretty damn incredible.

      Everything we know has stemmed from “rhythm” and blues. You need to have Ruth’s and you need to be sad. Mike shows that no rhythm equals comfort and happiness

  • @MegaZombywoof
    @MegaZombywoof 5 ปีที่แล้ว +56

    Wow !!!!! I have just put in synchro the album version with this live and most of it is identical !!!! He really is reading the chart and following it precisely, even the spit part is written !! This is not random screams like some wrote bellow. And to recreate exactly that kind of sounds and some of the rytmic patterns requires a lot of skills and precision. I am amazed !!!

    Guys, don't forget that this song is "Litany IV" from "Six Litanies For Heliogabalus" album by John Zorn. Is a composition by John Zorn singed by Mike. The song needs to be judged in the album context, in relationship with the other songs.

    This is the song "Litany IV" from John Zorn's album "Six Litanies For Heliogabalus". Its an actual written, composed solo vocal piece, which is why you seeing him reading off music. Go listen to the studio, he does every single bit perfectly live. Honestly, i dont see how the hell he does it. Dont just say hes making random noises and shit, because the song was written and composed, for certain elements the voice has.

    Avant-garde.
    Its not about talent or skill, trying to impress people, nor is it trying to get people to "identify" with it, avant -garde is just a means of conceptual creative exression. Expressing different timbres, situations, feelings, and sounds through music. This is a written vocal piece, not trying to show off skill, just john zorn writing a piece that showcases mikes agressive vocal tendancies. You critics are trying to take it in the wrong way. Its not thekind of music your used to.

    I have a serious question to ask....
    How does Mike Patton do it??? His voice is so versatile and strong. When you listen to the early Mr. Bungle demos, his voice wasn't that great. Then with "The Real Thing" his voice all of a sudden became that of a professional vocalist. HPatton says that he doesn't even warmup or train his voice. He just sings without thinking about it.
    I'm so jealous of how great his voice is. I wish I could sing like him.

    Bash me if you want, but that guy is a real fucking artist, I've never seen anything like this before. You might think it's only fucking noises, I think this is art.

    Este fue un proyecto de hacer música con los sonidos de los niños en sus inicios de la comunicación.

    Reto a todos los que critican a hacer esto mismo y no quedar totalmente afónico después de esto...Gran manejo de la voz, guste o no. Mike es seco, grite, cante o patalee. No es mi proyecto favorito, pero que demuestra un tremendo talento y manejo vocal, lo hace ;)

    it is captivating the way he creates an ambient and a scenery with these sounds - its like watching a movie. Thats his attempt I believe. I sat thru the whole vid with my mouth open. I guess it doesnt work for everyone.
    The desert wind sound is right on the money.

    Brilliant! I can't help picturing him talking and singing gibberish with a baby. It would have to be a tough baby not to be frightened of some of that though. Until recently I only knew about him from Faith No More.
